  1. Yes 2K wont damage decals at all, but don't hose it on though spray it the right way. Tamiya's clear will damage decals though.
  2. They have a hobby kit that can be used in airbrush it's $199. But i think Alclad & Spazstix & few others give amazing results if sprayed right for less money. But to get the best out of any chrome it would go like this: " Black +2k clear+chrome" But using gloss black base works good enough for the shine that's why we all use gloss black base. I LOVE alclad's black base & AK's black base stuff is like magic to me lol. Yeah I've seen that reviewed, and it's a meh.
  3. That's because Cali is cancer itself LOL
  4. Might could try Amazon, because you can get everything from A to Z on there haha.
  5. I know ammo by mig has alclad and the labels say "The original". I'm not sure if they partnered with them or not.
  6. Oh okay. Well that would explain why i couldn't find anything lol.
  7. Didn't know they had a compound? I always use Mequiar's ultimate compound, and wax. I can't find anything on google about it - do you got any links or anything?
  8. Been curious about this brand as well. They have a ton of airbrush paints as well.
  9. Didn't mean to come off that way. Don't get me wrong i love alclad, and hope they never go out of business. It's just with the way things are going on in the world today it wouldn't surprise me, and just saying if they did we have other great options on the market - so the hobby wouldn't be hurt to bad as a result. It just wouldn't have the same effect on the hobby as if lets say BMF went out of business which i hope they never do as well. Both Alclad & BMF are pioneer's, and i hope they both continue to be successful till the end.
  10. That doesn't look like a chrome finish at all to me. Spazstix black base sucks. Do you got AK Xtreme metal black base or Alclad's black base? Those two are the only two black gloss bases i use for metal colors. There super easy to get a glossy smooth black base. Your spoon test looks like the chrome went on too heavy. Doesn't look bad for what it is, but doesn't have that mirror chrome finish.
  11. Well he did say "If you can" when he mentioned about pictures. I can't, and i haven't been in the hobby room in almost a month. I've been dealing with court, still trying to move out of my apartment from eviction - because of my ex, and trying to take care of my 4 year old son on my own since i have protective custody right now. I still try to be active on the forums by trying to help folks with suggestions etc.
  12. If you don't mind me asking? How much was that lexus?
  13. I don't have to prove a point to get any type of "credibility" on here. I was simply stating suggestions, and simply doing tests will give you all the credibility you need. Also LP line up of metallic paint's are much better than there XF line up because the flakes are much smaller compared to the XF. Even the shade is different between the two line up's on most of the colors. Instead of 2 people jumping my back about the suggestions i made because i didn't show pics? Probably should get off the high horse and help with advice or show proof or just not reply at all.
  14. Haven't heard anything like that, but if they did they could easily be replaced. Tons of great replacements on the market.
  15. MCW is great paint dunno bout the best you'll ever find, but if you do mainly older cars than there a must besides scalefinishes.
  16. If you're gonna use Tamiya I'd recommend there LP line up instead of the XF line. The XF line up of metallic paint's aren't that good compared to the LP version. The Titanium silver while very nice, will not give you the results you're looking for on those rims if done over black base - probably a grey or white base. Alclad's matt aluminum will give you very close results to the center of the rims, and the outer part i would look more towards a white aluminum again on a grey or white base not black.
  17. Tamiya, ERTL, and than Monogram. Don't care if the tamiya kit isn't 100% accurate or not. Box art I'd def take monogram first though if i wanted just the box.
  18. AMT has some good quality kits under there belts, but there also not consistent at all. Certainly better quality wise than MPC and Atlantis, but they will never touch Tamiya or other's quality. I'm not stuck on one subject matter so that doesn't affect me at all as I've never been that type of person with anything even with music. The one problem with this hobby is there is to much of " It's part of the hobby' or " You're not a modeler if you can't do a hard kit". Folks have accepted the quality of a company for so long, and not complain why would a company/s change? But each company has there strengths, and weaknesses, and have a little bit of everything to offer folks no matter what there subject matter is. But when it comes to plastic motorcycles, and exotic cars, boats, and planes, and armor leave that to the Japanese kings of the hobby. Everything else just leave to to the re-issue kings.
  19. I don’t a email from them. Just go to there site, and go to where it says contact us on the bottom of the page. Once you do that fill out the info and send.
  20. I've never had an issue with gravity colors (spain). I've emailed them couple weeks ago when i had a broken bottle of paint come in, and they responded within a day or so, and shipped my bottle of paint out few days later.
  21. I use this set up quite a bit and get fantastic results. The light weathering carrier removes any extra glue no problem.
  22. Yeah green stuff world is good too, but chasing chrome will have you spend alot of money for only a tiny difference. Green stuff world, Alclad, spaz stix all three in proper color matched lighting are all very very similar. Might be a slight slight shade difference between the 3, but that's with good eyes too, and would still be hard to say which was which to the untrained eye. I own GSW but rarely use it, and my 3 go too chromes are Alclad, Spaz Stix, and Kustom service. I don't even debate about which one I'm gonna use that much because the difference is very negligible, but all 4 are great chromes to spray.
  23. I can vouch for Alclad and spaz stix being durable and i bake everything i paint. Molotov is a ink and after you apply airbrush or not if you touch it you'll lose the effect bout like AK's super chrome they've came out with. They don't need a black base as they can go over anything, but i still prefer Alclad, and, spaz stix, and even Kustom service chrome all give fantastic results if you spray them properly, and handle well if cured properly. The AK super chrome i basically just use for detail work as it's the same as molotov if not better, and both work great too using a detail brush. Molotov is best known for graffiti, and is over priced for what it is for this hobby.
  24. I didn’t think about caulking the inside of mine. Might get some clear n try it out, but you’re gonna love the booth.
