I tried to reproduce the model on the box because I really liked the colors, I am happy with the results as this kit has no issues in term of fitment. Tamiya acrylics for the light green and a mix of dark green and black for the very dark green. Hope you like it. Thanks in advance for looking and comments.

Tiffany blue Escalade

Nice Cadillac, certainly a nice change from all the black, white and all the shades of grey in between. The wheels really stand out. Great job Andrew. -

You certainly nailed this one Mark, The details and a super background makes it really pop. Beautiful patina. Love it. -
What a nice pair of Fords Helmut, your models show that building a nice model does not require a lot of after market parts or advance tools , only dedication , patience, talent does help too. Thanks for sharing.

Great work on the falcon. The engine looks super neat and so does the paint job. Thanks for sharing.

You have a talent for styling, this could very be a concept car that GM designers could have come up with in the 60's. I also love the color and the shading. Elegant and balanced. Simply beautiful.

Wow Helmut, what a beautiful pair of fords. You certainly took good care of them. They look pristine. Great job on this beautiful pair. Glad you shared with us.

Revell Bronco,Trailer & Buggy

Really nice Bronco, Makes me want to build mine that I have since the first issue. Great job and the paint is spot on for the period. -
Ditto here, somehow this blue makes it really pop out. Eye candy

I really like this Michael, this being a personal favorite,my first car was a 72 satellite and they did this body style only in 71-72 which makes them sought after today. A lot of people either love it or hate it. To me it is one of the best body style of the 70's. the color fits it so well, outstanding job . I also painted the bumpers on my 1:1 car.

Totally agree with you Scott, earlier models of ramcharger and dodge pick ups looked much better, this is what monogram should have aimed for. I bought three of these to have the drive train for different other projects, I still have the bodies. Your model looks just right and authentic as for the dust , well. it's a truck ! ?

Although not into hot rods myself, I can appreciate the work that goes into them especially that you cannot hide anything, every detail must be right. Having seen some of your builds, it's safe to say that you are dedicated to your craft as it shows through your models and creativity. Felicitations from a fellow Canadian.

The 69/70 model is IMO the best looking corvette of the stingray generation. Your model just confirms it. The photography is on par with the excellent craftsmanship of your model. This is a stunnig model you have there Tom. thanks for sharing it

That's a beauty Helmut , you take good care of your models. Too bad we don't see enough mopars of that era from manufacturers, Ah well. one can only hope. I too sometimes rebuilt models to change the color or to correct errors but in your case I don't see anything wrong with it. It looks perfect from here.

Accurate or not , this is a beautiful model, A lot of owners when they repaint a car can do whatever they want, same with modellers. Whatever works and this color scheme surely does work. They may be gone now but those old cars can still be admired through modeling and that's all that counts. That's one beautiful model to be proud of Helmut and the raindrops make its all the more photogenic.

Welcome Robert, you'll find what you need here, and more.

Ditto x2. Always preferred firebird over Camaro . This bird is so good looking color, finish, trim, wheels and photography. Great job sir.
-
Super trio, all three are superb but if I had ti pick one The white one with the black trim and wheels it would be. Again great job on the three of them. Can't go wrong with tri 5 Chevy's.

The beautiful AMT kit upgraded to 4x4 status with bits and pieces from the part box. I saw something like this while on vacation and I thought, why not ? I find this truck so good looking and iconic, I could build a lot of these. Actually I build a few of these. I still have some in the stash. hope you enjoy.

Build from the Revell kit, added some loose parts around and in the car. There is something about junkyard cars that is almost artistic. Decaying witnesses of a long gone era. The rust texture is a mix of paint and baking soda. The lighter shade of rust is pastel chalk powder brushed over. Again, thanks for looking

Nice chopped 40. Looks cool in that color. The tan walking boards contrast nicely to the maroon body.

MPC dodge van 77
happy grumpy replied to happy grumpy's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Totally with you on that John, The 82 is fine but like you I prefer the 71-77 type. I know some casters have the grilles available but I can't remember who but it would take some doing for the tail lights. Since they change the molds and tooling to do the 80's I doubt that they would invest to back date it if at all possible. Ah well I guess we should be glad they re pop it . I will probably get the turtle wax iteration though. -
I wish I could go back in time and buy a dozen of these kits. This a replica of the one I owned back in the early 80's .Although it was a 71 Fargo, it is pretty close but for the grille. I used it as a winter drive while my summer ride was in storage. Mine was never this clean though but it never failed me. Drove it up to 320000 miles without any major repairs. It had a modest 318 but this engine would simply not die. To me at least, no other van looks this nice. I simply like the styling, it looks just right. Of course this my biased and subjective opinion but I suspect I am not alone. Too bad the molds no longer exist for this version year.
