NART Ferrari 365 GTBB
happy grumpy replied to Gramps46's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Really nice looking Ferrari and the setup is really good. Great job. -
There may be less part count and details. But the work to achieve this is definitely there. My eyeballs hurt just thinking building something like this. Kudos to you and your skills.

The most important thing in this hobby and any other hobby, it must be fun, the minute it becomes a chore, it's no longer a hobby. You certainly did a great job on this, the color choice is as others have said, right on. You certainly overcame all the issues you had and the finish product is tribute to your patience. -
Italeri Opel Blitz 1/24 scale
happy grumpy replied to happy grumpy's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks Bob, Light colors make a good contrast for rust and faded paint effect. Thank you James. -
Despite the inaccuracies . it builds up to a nice rendition of the 57 Plymouth. Too bad for the side trim, I didn't find it in me to bother correcting it. It's still presentable when you ignore the curved side trim. The color is Tamiya pearl red covered with TS13 clear. Having done the unavoidable Christine, I wanted to do a less popular car. I have watched this movie several time and enjoyed it every time. I simply like the styling of this car, once you've watched the movie though, you cannot look at that car the same way again.

A beautiful kit from Italeri . I did not know they also made it in this scale until I stumble on it at a local store. It was on sale . I could not resist putting a tarp on it and aged it to reflect years of neglect. I think that rotting vehicles have a inherent beauty to them . They are a decaying testament to their former youth ,strength and usefulness. As always , thanks for looking.

now that's a perfect definition of a full size car. This makes me think of Dr Marcus Welby. Excellent choice of color and beautifully detailed.

I agree with you Tony, sometimes it's fun to get out of our comfort zone. You certainly nailed it. it's a beautiful, fun looking build and the colors fit it really well.

The build ,the paint, the photography and the color combo makes it a feast for the eyes. Great job Christopher

Great looking Mack. Plain old school tough truck. I like it. -
You captured the look and feel really well of this GM classic, exceptional car. One of the best design of the eighties. This thing was a tiger in a sheep's clothing. Nice paint finish and good photography.

That is a great kit bashing, perfect subject for that kind of truck. I am working on something similar. Great paint finish and color. -
Gunnar ,as others have said the rain shots are really nice, the photos are nice too and the model, despite the issues you mentioned, looks like there were none, a tribute to your skills. great job on both the model and photography.

Thank you all for your kind words. Steve,I take no credit for the side chrome trim as they come as separate chrome parts, The windshield and window trim was done with Molotow chrome marker. The paint was a mix of metallic acrylics from Tamiya. I can't remember the exact ratio but there was silver mixed with copper and clear red. The top coat is TS 13 clear and some polishing. I had some years to build up a modest collection. I was a little shy of showing them since there is some seriously talented people in here. But you and others who commented gave me more confidence and encouraged me to strive to better myself. I really do appreciate the interest , This is a great place to share a common passion. I really do enjoy seeing your work I got a lot of inspiration from you guys. What I love about modeling is that you're only limited by your imagination. I see things here that I would never thought possible. to all of you a very big thank you for your kind comments. thanks again

Yes it's a snap kit but it's a gem of a kit. If you want to drag your kid or a friend in the hobby, this is the kit. Believe it or not , I only painted the interior and the chassis. The rest is the highly polished opaque plastic right out of the box and it's a beauty. No credits for this one, it almost builds itself up. A perfect model if you are in a hurry.
-
A lazy build, just out of the box (practically most of my builds ). Metallic acrylics from Tamiya, wet sanded and cleared. In all, a nice little kit. The sixties were sure a nice time to be alive.

Really nice snow effects Dominik, I too built this model when it came out. It is a well designed kit and like you said, you need to choose which version before you build. The end result is really nice. You absolutely need to put it on a base. Looking forward to see what you're gonna come up with. Great build and great weathering.
-
That's a great way to remember your collegue . It is a perfect barn find diorama. The weathering is great. It's a beautiful diorama.

This is the 1/144 scale The force awakens. The engineering behind these kits is out of this world. No glue the pieces fit together seamlessly. The details for that scale are impressive. This model took the public's choice at a local show a few years ago. The only thing is I don't like the rectangular antenna. I might buy the " a new hope " version.

AMT Peterbilt Wrecker
happy grumpy replied to OldTrucker's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Johnny even in that lighting, it looks pretty cool. These trucks can take a while to put together. Most AMT truck kits are really beautiful but they are not for beginners, the instructions alone are really hard to decipher. Obviously you managed to get a real great job. You should consider taking pictures outside, that would be awesome. -
Beautiful build, The paint finish shinny and clean, great job Stephen
