  1. Thanks, Luc. It sure looks like the Pulldozer has the undersized door handles mentioned earlier in this topic.
  2. Your post title is just fine, Chris.
  3. I think that was the gist of the facebook comments. Monogram had better version of the same kit, and if not, and the kit was obscure/poor/not likely to sell in the near future, it was worth more for its scrap value. Even the molds which Monogram kept, such as the 1/32 '65 Mustang, Barracuda, GTO, and Mako Shark are, well, not the greatest, to put it kindly. I doubt there'd be a huge outcry if those'd been recycled/destroyed.
  4. Bob Johnson might be the best person to ask. He hasn't logged on here in a while, but one of us could try to contact him through facebook and ask. Maybe Luc has a better suggestion?
  5. Thanks, Luc. There's an even better (additional?) image on the page with the other truck models, too.
  6. If someone has a 1982 Monogram catalog, please scan and share a better image of the pre-production version:
  7. Spotted this on eBay last night:
  8. Thanks goodness Round2 has a budget for new box art, and these days are long gone...: ?
  9. It was all hashed out months ago on facebook-- just click the link to read. The image of the mold halves wasn't really pertinent to this discussion, as it was more about what became of the Aurora molds Monogram purchased and the story of he train derailment en route to Chicago. Keeping in mind this section is for automotive talk, it was mentioned in the facebook topic the Aurora 1/32 American LaFrance 900 Pumper was one of the kit which were destroyed in the derailment. Whether that's true or not I haven't a clue.
  10. Yes, and it could even be used on the same Pro Stock chassis as the hatchback: Or maybe they are going this direction? I don' recall Jamie stating it was a factory stock wagon:
  11. They " are getting the GM licensing first- 1 step at a time! thanks!", so maybe the 1/48 Chevy Stakebed?:
  12. Or, since this "new" wagon was mentioned right after showing the Vega hatchback...it's a companion '71-'73 Chevy Vega Wagon.
  13. I would recommend that you take some time to look through (or search, using the pinned post in the Q&A section) the Car Kits" News & Reviews section. There's a ton of info specific to thousands of kits, which kits contain, what and so on. Here's one discussing AMT's '62 Pontiac Catalina:
  14. A quick perusal of eBay indicates it is not. ?
  15. Anybody (Doug??) pick up a 1/12 King Chopper kit yet?
  16. FTFY. I couldn't comb through any additional pages of fantasy wishes, so I stopped at page four, missing Luc's post entirely...but I also hope he's correct. ??
  17. Author Atlantis Toy and Hobby Only 5 tools were lost, we actually have the shipping and documentation of the rail cars going to west hempstead to Morton Grove. I believe it was this day in 1977 when it happened. Author Atlantis Toy and Hobby Jodie Peeler The exact date was 12/2/77 near Binghamton NY. Author Atlantis Toy and Hobby Jodie Peeler This has to be it. When in get back in the office tomorrow I will check to see who the carrier was on bills of lading. If I see Conrail as the carrier or truck containers going to Georgia City NJ then we know for sure. Author Atlantis Toy and Hobby 5 molds lost total SKYMASTER NIKE MISSILE for sure have to dig a little deeper for other other 3 molds. The sad part is all the ones monogram destroyed. I can understand dulpicates Aurora P-47 compared to Monogram P-47 but to trash the Raider Ship Atlantis?? Monogram had nothing like it in the line at the time or ever. I'm sure they regretted this down the line there was no real collector market for this stuff back in 1977. Jodie Peeler Atlantis Toy and Hobby If anyone has a reasonably exact date and location of the train wreck I'll look it up in my Newspapers account to see if there's any coverage. I did find coverage of a freight train that derailed near Binghamton, N.Y. in the early morning hours of December 1, 1977. It was a Conrail train going from Georgia City, N.J. to Chicago. Ten cars derailed, most of them piggyback cars hauling trailers full of cargo. There are a few pictures of the wreckage in the Binghamton paper. If this is it - or if anyone can give me the specifics on the when and where - I'll see what I can find, and share.
  18. Here's a really large, clear image of one of he ex-Aurora monster molds, in which you can make out the various areas shown in the diagram above. Not 100% sure on this, but I believe the individual inserts (which are all bolted(?) into the mold base from the backside?) are made of Beryllium-Copper, which gives them their, well, coppery color:
  19. Not sure if this is what Art was alluding to, but there was such a display on a wall at the Monogram headquarters in 1968:
  20. After watching the video/live stream in question last night, I got the feeling the wagon would be an all-, or at least mostly, new tool, and not Round2 bringing back a '60s era kit. So, with that in mind, and Robert's words above, combined with Bill's post here...: ...a 1967 Impala wagon would make some sense. The wheelbases for all 1967 Impalas are the same, and Round2 just re-tooled some parts for the Supernatural release, specifically including separate rear bumper guard...hmmm: Yes, tail light housings are different, but the design work is all done for the bench seat, column shifter, door panels/cards, hood, grille, and a few others. Not an easy, slam dunk creation by any means, but its's a Chevy, the chassis and engine can carry over unchanged, and it's a gorgeous bodystyle in wagon form, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
  21. Box art for the forthcoming 1/25 AMT 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse, kit #1089:
