  1. This eBay listing has some clear images of the tread area: https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-1953-1955-Corvette-WW-Firestone-Stock-Tire-Hubcap-and-backs-1-25-Scale/164049173843?hash=item263217bd53:g:a3EAAOSwPjJeLTzS Not 100% sure those are the same Firestone tires, but I think they are.
  2. It doesn't appear to include the custom interior parts: http://manuals.hobbico.com/rmx/85-4438.pdf
  3. Maybe all the members here who use brake fluid to remove paint and chrome plating can let us know how they properly dispose of it. Easy-Off in the spray can is a one-time use product, and is water soluble, so it's relatively easy to wash down the drain.
  4. Is that the AMT '71 Duster 340's intake manifold? Did the old Revell AAR Cuda's cylinder heads and valve covers need to be resized at all, or were the pretty much used as is?
  5. Did the styrene MPC slicks have blank (i.e., no manufacturer name) sidewalls? I want to say the black styrene slicks included with the MPC '33 Chevy Panel were blank.
  6. It must be the excessive tri-color graphics and gold chrome. Can't blame you, really. ?
  7. The MPC and AMT Halibrand Sprint spindle mount front wheels are not nearly as accurate as the JO-HAN version:
  8. You can always quote your original post with dead image links, then re-post the new images, or replace the old with the new. Not exactly efficient from a bandwidth perspective, and not ideal for topic continuity, either, but it at least gets the images back up and, well, visual.
  9. This seems to be one of the kits where "close enough" has been just that since 1978(?), when the kit debuted. The inaccuracies have been well known from the start yet it continued to appear in Monongram and later Revell catalogs, and is easily recognizable as a '56 Chevy Bel Air 2-door hardtop. Here it is in the '80 and '84 Monogram catalogs: Then '86 and '88:
  10. *edit* PM received.
  11. Be aware the Street Machine version of the AMT '71 Duster includes a Viper-style custom intake manifold, throttle bodies, cone style air cleaners, and Mopar Performance-ish valve covers: Here's what the stock Duster 340 engine parts look like:
  12. Curtis mentioned it on the previous page:
  13. If someone has the 1/25 AMT '71 Duster 340, any of the various MPC Mopar small blocks, and a Revell '70 Cuda AAR 340 they could take pics of side by side, maybe we could determine which is closest to (note I didn't say THE most) accurate. Even better would be the AMT '71 Duster 340's single 4-bbl intake manifold on the 1/25 Revell AAR Cuda 340's block and heads.
  14. Artist's rendering from the '86 Monogram catalog showing what the Mean & Nasty Camaro would look like:
  15. Yes, see Curtis' earlier post, quoted below.
  16. From the '86 Monogram catalog, both the Monster Mash and Hammer Head (sporting a GMC grille), still in preliminary dress:
  17. Here are both the '82 Z/28 (Simon & Simon) and '83 Z/28E Camaros in the 1986 Monogram catalog: And in the '87 catalog:
  18. The 1/24 Monogram '36 Ford cylinder head* measures .725" long, so x 24 = 17.4" The 1/25 Revell '48 Ford cylinder head measures .767" long, so x 25 = 19.175" (Navarro heads) The 1/25 Revell '32 Ford Sedan cylinder head measures .775" long, so x 25 = 19.375" (Edelbrock heads) * = definitely some type of aftermarket ribbed head, with no manufacturer markings
  19. Using Rob's reply as I am in a similar predicament-- building a 1/24 scale '37 Ford, and wanting to keep things consistently in 1/24 scale. Having both 1/24 Monogram '36 Ford and 1/25 Revell '48 Ford flathead engines on hand, I placed them side-by-side and snapped a few comparison pics: The white/top engine is the 1/25 Revell, both both are nearly identical in overall size. The 1/25 Revell engine is actually a bit longer than the 1/24 Monogram engine, and both cylinder heads are shaped slightly differently (hard to see in the blurry third image, sorry), but without 1:1 measurements on hand to check both, it would be difficult to tell which scale both engines are, at least to my eyes.
