  1. Nice review of this kit, with images still visible: http://slotblog.net/topic/45416-review-amt-1968-plymouth-road-runner-hardtop-a821849-202-modified-reissue/
  2. I was going to ask if the bumpers guards are present, but clearly, they are. Comparison of the '67 chrome plated parts: So, new grille and nameplate, new parking light housings, and new/additional bumper guards. Assuming new rim panel and bumper guards on the rear bumper, too.
  3. Richard hasn't been logged into the forum for a few years now, but hopefully he's seen the numerous new tractor kits Revell and Heller have released over the last few years or so. I am not going to re-hash the debate this topic turned into, but I will admit I was very surprised to see all-new tractor kits, especially the number of unique kits which were actually released. Round2 has also reissued the Cat bulldozer, the IH Payhauler is due to be reissued soon, and I would expect if they have the John Deere backhoe molds, that kit will be reissued within the next year or two as well. Granted, they are not all-new models of construction equipment, but I would argue it's better than nothing.
  4. That's a Chevy only term: https://raybuck.com/pickup-truck-bed-fleetside-stepside-definition/ This is the closest thing you'll find, if you can find one:
  5. Well, Round2 snuck some extra decals inside the re-issued '76 Dart kit, including decals to build both a Hang Ten Dart and a Spirit of '76 Dart:
  6. I built the Tasca Ford version in the mid-'90s, and it was a challenging build. The pars fit is very close, especially the way the headers snake through the engine bay/front suspension/crossmember. Bare metal foiling the side trim is no fun, either. There's a reason Revell rates this a Skill Level 5 kit. I should also mention the excellent set of chrome plated Keystone Klassic Kustomag and Radir wheels, as well as the very nice steel wheels included in every version of this kit. The narrow front tires aren't great (and always seem to have mold shift issues), but the rear pie crust style slicks are great for vintage projects, and don't have flashy sidewalls like the recent AMT parts pack slicks. Though the two front wheels of each style are one scale inch smaller than the rears, you still get three sets of wheels, and something which almost never happens-- they all look like their full-size counterparts.
  7. Hard to believe this kit is now 30 years old, and looking back through its history, I was surprised to see how many times it's been reissued. Though the kit did get an update in the '00s with new parts and/or a second build option, it has remained mostly the same...which is a good thing as it was one of the earlier kits to emerge from the "new" Revell, post Monogram merger. First two issues from 1990, which were decal engineered versions of the same kit: Tasca Ford THUNDERBOLT, kit #7450: Russ Davis Ford THUNDERBOLT, kit #7451: '64 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt Street Machine, kit #85-7679, from 1999: Revell/Classic Hobby Distributors '64 Ford Thunderbolt SS, kit #CHD-9664: Revell "Streetburner" '64 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt, kit #85-2065, released in 2006: Revell/Model King Hubert Phil Bonner/Hubert Platt Thunderbolt, kit #85-2049, released in 2007: Revell '64 Ford Fairlane Street Machine 2'n1 Special Edition, kit #85-2076, released in 2008, was the first to include the new optional "flat" hood, steel wheels, and dog dish wheel covers. The new parts allowed the builder to create a more stock appearing car, rather than a 100% factory stock vehicle: Revell '64 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt, kit #85-4408, released in 2017, which again included the optional street machine parts: I can't recall if this kit was packaged with another Revell kit in their HOT ROD magazine series two kits, so let me know if I missed any.
  8. Is this the intake manifold found in the Revell '64 Ford Thunderbolt kits, or is that a shorter manifold?
  9. I'm sure Dave A or Xingu/Mike could help you out, or at least be able to answer when people might be able to create new topics in the Big Boyz section again. You could send one or both of them a PM and ask?
  10. I think that's one of the forum sections which is not yet finished after the updates, so members can not yet create new topics in the section. I see there is no green tab to "Create New Topic" when I go to the Big Boyz section:
  11. None. Looking at what Moebius has planned for releases (flat bed trailer) in the automotive realm, it's slim to nothing. Re-issue of the '53 Hudson, but otherwise, lots of money in sci-fi stuff. It's been mentioned here previously now that Pegasus owns Moebius, they have far less interest in the automotive side of things. That seems to be bearing out if we look at their current and near-future releases, and considering it's been almost two years since we heard or saw anything abou the '64-5 Chevy II/Nova Sedan/HTs, I wouldn't expect any further new anytime soon. tl/dr: don't expect any new truck releases any time soon from Moebius
  12. MOE-1200 1/25 1953 Hudson Hornet Car (Re-Issue) (2nd Qtr)
  13. Gorgeous. ❤️
  14. Yes, true, but does the general model buying public know and/or care enough about the differences to make it worthwhile for Revell to invest in such a project? Maybe I'm being cynical and pessimistic, and perhaps you and others have information which I'm not privy to, but I suspect the existing kits are close enough for the vast majority of buyers. Seeing how much pent up demand there is for the '30 Coupe to return, I doubt Revell needs to do anything but reissue it for the next decade as is.
  15. OK??? That's retro perfection right there. ?
  16. If this member could in fact stand behind his words, he would no longer visit nor continue to be a member of this large, less friendly, and less responsive forum.
  17. I also thought the AMT 3'n1 customizing boat would work, but I suspect the boat pictured is more modern, and has been modified to look retro? Here's what's inside the AMT kit: https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/751/1-25-amt-customizing-boat
  18. Unless they dumped one or both off on Atlantis, Revell has TWO '29 Ford Roadster pickups already, in 1/25 and 1/24 scale, so I doubt they'll create a third. I don't think any additional variants are necessary, really. I think these two (four if you count the parts cross-mixing) can fulfill most demand for many years to come.
  19. Sorry, I went down the rabbit hole. Found this image of a corner Toy shop, figured it was worth a shot to see if it triggered any memories.
  20. Some people will argue what's correct on which day, but ultimately, your model is cleanly built, neatly painted, and looks great, so you did very well. The only thing which I'd change would be the fabric(?) areas on the seats. I want to say the fabric was velour-like, but maybe not. Tough to replicate in scale no matter what, but I would add a bit more gloss and a hint of texture.
