  1. Maaaaybe, but not if the builder was on a budget. If the builder has access to the equipment needed to separate the wheel center and rim, then weld it back together...maybe? https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/when-did-chrome-reverse-wheels-start.489886/
  2. All going toward paying for the Coca-Cola licensing. I do recall a pair of slicks were included with the Grumpy Jenkins reissue, but I don't think them not being included this time around is going to be a deal breaker for most people.
  3. A few which may have been mentioned earlier, from the various MPC "Gangbusters" series: MPC 1927 Lincoln Roadster: MPC '28 Lincoln: MPC '32 Chrysler Imperial Roadster: MPC '32 Chevrolet Cabriolet Convertible or Panel Truck:
  4. I think this is Richard Carroll, pictured receiving the trophy?:
  5. Thanks. After looking at the instruction sheet and seeing what the optional version entails, the separate rear seat makes more sense now.

  7. Count me in, too, but we're not alone: Then again, pretty much everything created by Jack Leynnwood appeals to me: http://customrodder.forumactif.org/t3784-jack-leynnwood-1921-1999-the-rembrandt-of-revell-plastic-model-boxes Back (sort of?) on topic, I have seen far worse discussion deviations than one member wishing for a poster or other box art based artwork. There have been some posters available over the years based on model car box art or similar, so check out this topic for more info:
  8. You're not going to be able to top the Parts by Parks beehive oil filter...unless you prefer to see a visible molding seam running the entire length of the filter, on both sides, sticking out like a sore thumb.
  9. Interesting that the rear seat is a separately molded piece, which was unexpected for me. I see there was a promo of the hardtop, but was there ever a companion convertible kit or promo?
  10. I can hear Harry's voice arguing "you can't directly compare a model and a real car that way.." ? But I agree, the "trunk" area of the Revell body appears to be much truer to the real thing.
  11. The chrome plated headlights are the biggest downfall if this kit, and something which is not clearly evident to the unsuspecting consumer when viewing the box art. Don't get me wrong, the new box art is light years ahead of the last go 'round (pictured below), but at least the previous box art showed you exactly what you were getting.
  12. Are you wanting the original style thinwall, hollow slicks, the same as those which were originally included with the kit?
  13. Just a heads up regrading the interior tub and bucket seats included with the 1/24 Revell (nee Monogram) '70 Dodge Challenger T/A kit. I forget who mentioned this to me, but the upholstery pattern on the rear seat bottom and backrest (which are molded as one with the interior tub) as well as the separate bucket seats was altered when the kit was modified for the 1995 release of the ill-proportioned (and -fated) '70 Plymouth AAR 'Cuda. Below are comparison shots of the early (pre-'95) and late ('95+) issues of the '70 T/A kit, showing the upholstery pattern differences. To my knowledge, the pattern was never changed back to original. The red/burgundy interior is the early style, the white the later style: Early interior tub: Later interior tub: Early (left) vs. later (right) front bucket seats:
  14. More pics, this time of the parts molded in white and the instruction and decal sheets:
  15. Here are some kit content pics I took of the reissue, starting with the box and chrome plated parts: Chrome plated parts: PRO-TRAC COMPETITION FRONT tires(!!)-- technically nowhere near correct for a boat trailer, but good to know the mold still exists. I'm guessing these specific tires were included to fit the wheel parts exactly:
  16. Below are the scanned pages from Jim Keeler article in the February 1969 issue of Car Model, and here's a link to the IMCBM page with more images and info: https://www.themodelcarmuseum.org/page2.html
  17. Way too coarse. http://italianhorses.net/Tutorials/PerfectPaint/paint.htm
  18. Here are some pics I took of the mid-'80s AMT/Ertl reissue, for reference. Not a terrible kit, really, but not quite on par with '90s and '00s era kits like Revell's '40 and '48 Fords. Stock 6 cylinder flathead engine parts: Optional generic Mopar small block V8 engine parts:
