  1. I though that was put to rest a few years ago with the reissues of the VW Scirocco, 280ZX, Toyota 4x4 pickup, Turbo Firebird, Cheverra Z28, and more recently, the Subaru BRAT.

  3. ?‍♀️ ?‍♂️ (just enter "faceplam" in the emoji search box)
  4. Maybe not the best idea to use this forum to advertise and promote another one, especially in General Discussion. Just saw you double posted it, too. ?
  5. On second thought, I probably should've started from the start of the video, seeing as there's something relevant to the '71 Mustang Mach 1 announcement. We shall see, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Round2 create a correct grille (I think that was the most visible inaccuracy in previous reissues?). Probably way too much on that in this topic:
  6. Revell kit H-1499, which never saw the light of day: It seems the Aurora 1/16 scale Racing Scenes kits were very much on Revell's radar, but perhaps the sales numbers meant they weren't as much of a threat as initially feared.
  7. Yes on the four crates filled with Coca-Cola bottles: See more here:
  8. AMT 1187 -- 1/25 James Bond 1971 Ford Mustang Mach I Car Polar Lights PLLMKA45 -- 1/25 Rat Fink Decal Pack
  9. It seems highly unlikely the bench seat and steel wheels will be included with this 2020 reissue, but the grumpy Jenkins version which did include those parts is still easily found on the secondary market.
  10. You may want to use the AMT '36 Ford as your starting point, as it has a chopped top piece as an option.
  11. I'm sure you could make an appointment and take some measurements ?. I think they have some contact info regarding research on the museum website:
  12. You know a kit is old when "OPERATING HOOD" is explicitly called out on the box top. ? Some "interesting" custom parts in this kit... ?
  13. I stopped at and walked through the Studebaker National Museum in South Bend, Indiana a few weeks ago, and took a few pictures, which can be viewed here: https://public.fotki.com/celicagts83/vehicles/cars-1/studebaker-museum/?view=roll#1 I was intent on seeing/touching/photographing the Sceptre, so there are more than a few images of that particular car, but I am not into the early Studebaker stuff (wagons, etc.), so I didn't take pictures of anything pre-'48 or so. It was well worth the $10 admission, and as usual, the best stuff is in the basement. The other vehicle which was on my must-see list was the prototype truck built for Westinghouse, which never panned out. Still, it was neat to see it in person, after only seeing images of it in books and online:
  14. 1) Looks like a '70 Charger, so maybe start with the Revell 1/25 '70 Dodge Charger R/T kit: 2) Oddly enough, there was a '69 Dodge Charger kit with an (unintentionally) lower roofline. See here: Unfortunately, it has molded in vinyl top texture.
  15. Offenhauser scoop (above) -- three rows, three raised ribs per row Cragar scoop -- two rows four raised ribs each row Cal Custom 10 scoop (below) -- one row containing five raised ribs: If someone wants to do the leg work and verification, then post back here when finished, I'd be interested in reading the results. I'm sure there are others, and maybe even a vintage speed parts catalog floating around somewhere.
  16. But the grille has certainly improved in that version. Of course, once you tilt the hood forward and realize there is no radiator, the filled grille shell makes much more sense. It's kind of impressive how many times Revell was able to reissue this kit, considering how unique this car is. Good to see it finally come full circle and be reissued as the original again.
  17. Revell did it, why can't we? ?
  18. Did the original issue of this kit include spark plug wiring and (vinyl?) fuel line?:
  19. More on this kit, though the narrator doesn't quite get all of the details correct...:
