  1. What do you mean? ? Some of Harry's designs are quite out there, and not all that appealing to me, but to each their own. Here's another designed by Harry: http://www.deansgarage.com/2014/harry-bradleys-mitchell-gp/
  2. I think was right after Ertl purchased both AMT and MPC, so MPC kits were improving then. IIRC, the '69 Olds 442 was an all new kit from that time, too, and one of the better MPC kits I can recall. I have to believe Round2 has at least considered this kit for reissue.
  3. Well, there was some writing on the wall:
  4. Not yet.
  5. MPC again (they did the same in 1985 with the '84 Fiero) tried to maximize their investment by releasing two kits of the '86 Fiero GT. Wow, those optional custom wheels and tires on the white version sure are something. ?
  6. More good reading about Harry Bradley: https://onlineredlineguide.com/68/68_deora/68_deora.html https://www.customcarchronicle.com/custom-car-designers/harry-bradley/harry-bradley-fantom-ford/
  7. I'm not sure, but based upon the kit numbers, I suspect you are correct. Here all six in the 1974 MPC catalog: Good to hear the Mailbox Chopper is being reissued in 2020: MPC 892 -- Ed Roth's Mail Box Chopper - Trick Trike Series
  8. The next round of Round2 kits have MSRPs of about $33, and the trike's MSRP is $29, so rather close.
  9. Since the sacrificial door opening filler pieces have been removed, you're risking even more body flex, but it can be done. Trace around the H-shaped piece, on both the top and bottom of the roof. It's clear where the rear edge should be cut, but the front edge is less clear. I would mark your marks, then scribe (back side of an X-acto knife blade, scribing tool, etc.) the front edge first, from the underside (inside of car) of the roof. Go slowly and let the blade remove a thin curl of material instead of trying to cut the two sides apart-- that induces too much stress. When you have almost cut through the front, do the same at the rear, leaving enough material to remove with a handful of passes. Scribe all the way through the front, use medium tack tape (Scotch clear tape would be a good choice) to hold the windshield header and soon-to-be-removed roof section in place, then scribe the rear joint again until it's free. Use files and fine sandpaper until the H-shaped piece fits correctly.

  11. If anyone s looking for a specific sheet(s), please PM me with the sheet number and a description., quantity you want, etc. Yes, I do need the specific sheet number (413, etc.). Model Empire's Open House is next Sunday, so I will look then and there if I know what you want.
  12. No worries...and welcome back. Speaking of Kammback design...: http://www.deansgarage.com/2018/how-the-vega-kammback-came-to-be/
  13. I am 99% sure I recall someone mentioned having done just that in one of the multiple AMT '63 Impala topics:
  14. No, is the short answer. The "two-way" body shell, giving the builder the option of building either a cargo- or passenger-style van is no longer, and the upper quarter panel sections have been permanently filled. 16. If this is his first model (guessing at experience level here), you may want to start with something simpler. The modern snap-together kits are miles ahead of what they were years ago, and he can always start by detail painting the interior, chassis, etc., before moving on to painting bodies, which can be an intimidating step. Maybe something like the MPC snap '69 Charger, which could be a first step toward a more detailed kit?: https://www.autoworldstore.com/product-p/mpc879m.htm
  17. That looks an awful lot like the eventual '69 Camaro grille on the early Panther (Chevrolet F-body) clay model:

  19. It was, but it wouldn't be realistic to set up and run an entire mold for one alternate part. The B-M kit is still easily found and the few people who want to build the new full bumper version with the three-piece rear spoiler shouldn't have too much trouble locating that part.
