I honestly thought they came pre-painted. Round2 (or the Forever Fun group, being more specific) offers pre-painted figures, and Round2 has even posted images of the factory in China where there items are hand painted on their Collector Model blog, so I didn't think it was a huge stretch.
-
From the pictures? I didn't see it stated either way on the box(es), and the parts are all shown finished, so I assumed they come pre-finished. Does it state somewhere on the box that they parts are unfinished?
-
Keep your fingers crossed. The Ghost of the Red Baron kit doesn't exactly have a high parts count, and I do wonder if Atlantic has permission/licensing to use the vintage Monogram logo for this reissue, too? I guess we'll find out in a few months.
-
Who knows, but this is a good example of why people hope and wish a certain mold still exists, even if it seems unrealistic to do so. Agreed, though, this announcement is great news and will make a lot of people very happy.
-
Yes, that would be a slight problem. The MPC/AMT '69 Cutlass kit would be the one to use.
-
These AMT Garage kits contain pre-painted parts, correct, while the Fujimi sets are bare plastic, right? I'll let others decide which is preferable, but I can understand why someone would want to pay a few dollars extra for a set which is pretty much ready to use right out of the box. Figure painting isn't the easiest thing, but most of us buy unassembled, unfinished kits because we like the freedom to build and finish them as we like, so it goes both ways.

Now it's been mentioned: http://tomdaniel.com/TD_sez/td_message.html ATLANTIS HOBBY NEWS: As mentioned previously, ATLANTIS has purchased the tooling for some of the true CLASSIC'TD' kits that have NOT been produced in many, many years. I just received 1st test shots for - Are you Ready??? The Ghost of the Red Baron! I am told they want this kit available THIS YEAR! And the Ghost kit to be followed with the LONG overdue SNAP-TITE kit "Li'l Red Baron"! WOW!

AMT 57 Chevy Pepper Shaker - Newest reissue
Casey replied to pharoah's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
This is the closest thing I could via Google, a Mickey Thompson setup: The AMT '57 kit's carb manifold appears to have a cover on it, though, so maybe it's a Cragar product, as I want to say the chain drive setup was made by Cragar. -

AMT 57 Chevy Pepper Shaker - Newest reissue

No, it's not a Latham style supercharger, which has the air inlet and outlet located at the extreme ends of the supercharger. It is a smaller Roots-style blower, but the manufacturer is not specified in the kit/instructions: -
1/25 MPC '86 Chevy El Camino & Trail Bike
Casey replied to Casey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
After looking the box over, I noticed the built model is wearing Goodyear Polyglas GT tires, yet the bottom of the box shows only four tires, and the side of the box state/shows Goodyear GT Radial tires are included. Are only the four Goodyear GT Radial tires included? -
Looks like both guys got new 'dos, too.
-
Maybe you could start a new topic in the Aftermarket section like you did for the '66 Country Squire, and keep all the pics together from start to finish?
-
No, it's just an error on the box. What the picture shows is what's included.
-
I'd probably take that bet, considering how more recent Revell kits have been less crisp and bar-raising design wise. Also, there have been some very good 1/25 scale GM A-body offerings from Revell for almost two decades now litke the '65 Chevelle, '66 Chevelle wagon and El Camino, '67 Chevelle, and '72 Olds Cutlass.

Moebius '65 F-100 Flareside Pickup!
Casey replied to Art Anderson's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
And later...: Sven's World of Wheels Page Liked · Yesterday · Here's a little something coming down the pike for 1/25th scale model builders. I believe this will be the first utility truck bed ever available in a plastic kit. Disregard the wheels in the pic though... the kit will have the stock wheels. -
Tim Boyd mentioned Round2 is looking into it-- no definite anything either way at this point, so we wait.
-
Looking at the (upside down) long side of the box Tim Boyd posted elsewhere, you can see how the battery was mounted and where. I can't make out the position of the straps, but I would guess they attach to the underside of the floor: An original instruction sheet would probably clear things up.
