  1. Found it in the February 1997 issue of SAE: Pretty sure someone here shared this previously?:
  2. They merged or were bought out by another company a few years ago, and product quality suffered immensely. I had to get PayPal involved when I received two gallons of defective (as in, parts A and B would not react, no matter the ratio) product. Customer service was very poor, and coupled with the product issues, as Mike C said above, heed others' advice and choose something better. I have now used Smooth On products for a few years, and have always been very pleased. Jeff B from Motor City Resin Casters recommended them long ago, and he was 100% accurate with his recommendation in my experience. Smooth On has trial sizes, a wide selection if various mold rubbers and resins, so you should be able to find a product which matches your requirements.
  3. Interesting (maybe it shouldn't be surprising?) that the artist who airbrushed the "glass" into the box art models didn't try to replicate the parts included inside the kit, but perhaps that was yet to be finalized. At any rate, still a bit wild to think a modified reissued proposal like this would been seen through to completion, especially since only one version can be built from the new, specialized parts. Thanks for posting the image of the worn seat, Jason.
  4. I guess you had to buy the slot car version if you wanted yours molded in a color other than tan:
  5. Nice to see this one has changed very little, and the big 'n' little ex-Monogram Goodyear Rally GT tires are still present-- they are always nice for 1/24 '70s style builds.
  6. Looks like the re-issued 1/24 '55 Chevy has the Badman version wheels, too:
  7. Pictured at the top left of the pic you shared one page back.
  8. No leaks in the roof, so I'm happy. I will try to dig out the back issue of SAE in which the release announcement was made, but Mark's memory covered most of the pertinent details.
  9. I might have some JO-HAN Dart parts, Mike. I will look tomorrow and LYK what I find.
  10. With a catchy name like that, no wonder they never caught on. I think people have referred to them as "Starfish" wheels, too, and as mentioned, a few Monogram kits of Tom Daniel design included them: I think the consensus here when last discussed is the Sonny & Cher Mustang was the last to include them, as they were replaced by a different wheel and never seen again at AMT. The Monogram versions are more of a deep-dish, not-exactly-realistic for a street driven vehicle style, but the centers appear to be fairly true to the 1:1 wheel. Pic from the old AMT studio via an AMT themed facebook page (Luc J or Dave Darby would know the details) showing one of these wheels, second from the left:
  11. Just looked, but I think this is not a JO-HAN part. The locating stubs are rectangular, not round as I think they should be.
  12. Was excited to see this as a (finally!) stand alone kit, but at $25...might have to be patient for a few months.
  13. I have one, so, give me a few days to get some pics of those. In the meantime, here is the original instruction sheet: https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/289/amt-510-gmc-astro-95
  14. 1/25 (ex)Revell Ford "Melted Brick" Flareside extended cab!!??? Who wanted this other than Chuck Most? 🀣
  15. I noticed a long time ago, businesses come and go, and the thing which made the largest impression upon me was longevity. Simply being available, consistently making quality products and having them available on a consistent basis, at least in this niche market, was key. Good quality is also extremely important, so coupled with availability, you have two very simple (and obvious?) keys to success. 😎 I have heard/read Bill say numerous times "Buy it before it's gone" on this forum, and that still holds true IMHO. Sometimes, you get lucky and find a long OOP NOS part, but for the most part, what you see today might not be available tomorrow.

    Casey??

Thanks for the holiday card, Carl. 😁 I'm fine, just took some time away to re-roof the house and never made it back. New-to-me 1:1 project might intrude on my participation in 2023, but, we'll see.
