  1. Take it to the Post Office, have them mark it "REFUSED" or "RETURN TO SENDER", and it's done. As long as you have not opened it, it can be returned to the sender at no cost....provided it was sent via USPS.
  2. I am right there with you. The "Street Demons" '32 Ford Sedan and '56 Ford Pickup were enough to turn me off to Revell kits in the early '80s...then I was foolish enough to pick up a "Lightning Rods" Chevy Monza kit in the '90s on a whim.
  3. A true perfectionist is rarely, if ever satisfied, so as Martin said, completing anything is a rarity. I've known a few people who call themselves perfectionists, but they really aren't. What I see are differences in what "perfection" means to different people, and their ability to see flaws and to know what it takes to get close to perfection. It's been my experience that those who call them selves perfectionists, well, they should read Scale-Master's signature line, because it's true. To me, it all comes down to setting high standards for yourself and others, and sticking to those standards.
  4. Finally, a test fit of the Slant Six in the engine bay. I will need to blister the firewall for bellhousing/starter clearance...forgot about that 'til now:
  5. Very true, but I might extend it into the late '70s and end it in the late '80s, as by '88/'89 or so, Revell was reborn and started putting out some every nice kits. The "Ceji era", when Revell was owned by the French company, were possibly Revell's darkest days.
  6. Which is odd, because it appears to have a turbine engine, wheels and tires, axle shafts connecting the engine to the wheels, yet is shown flying/hovering on the original box art. Maybe it both hovers and is wheel driven?
  7. Ayyyyyyyyyyy, it might've been this MPC kit:
  8. If I understand correctly, the CA Wheels version includes bumpers with bumper guards, while the earlier "Special Edition" '62 Impala SS kit's bumpers do not have the bumper guards.
  9. Sounds like it is a Columbia 2-speed rear, at least from the info in this topic: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56290
  10. I see Auto World has a version with different box art, but that appears to be the only difference:
  11. Has someone tried fitting the AMT '40 Deluxe grille and hood on the Revell body?
  12. I kind of like the boxes with 20"+ wheels, as the cars have always looked big, even though they were downsized from the previous full-size GM Colonnade cars. But for the strip, you need slicks. Stil pretty impressive that a car that heavy and boxy can run that quickly.
  13. I don't think you install 20"+ wheels for a sleeper look. It sounds great, I think. Nothing quite like the whine of a supercharger.
  14. I think the "Happy Days" kits were released a few years before the "Street Demons" series, but each series did not contain all the same kits. Two other Revell "Happy Days" kits I found Googling are the... '29 Ford Model A pickup: A T-bucket: And I know there was a two motorcycle kit, too- maybe a Triumph and a ???
  15. Sometimes I will leave a note indicating a topic has been moved, and other times not. Why not all the time? Most times it's clear a post should have been posted elsewhere (say, a Ford F-150 in the Model Cars "On the Workbench" section), sometimes the poster has had several posts moved in the recent past and still continues to post in the wrong area, and sometimes I forget to click that option. In some cases, I will PM the member and let them know what I did or moved, but most times, I won't, since the posts can be found via each member's Profile page. Everyone has the ability to find topics they started and participated in by going to their profile page and clicking either "Topics" or "Posts" from the menu on the left-hand side, or "Find Content" at the top right of the profile page. Click on "Topics" and it will show you "Topics I've Started", and so on.
  16. I think it's just the angle and shadows with make the vent window look "open", but I think it's fixed in the "closed" position. The new Revell Monogram reissue's box art shows the vent windows removed or missing, though, which seems odd: I try not to put too much stock in the non-box art images, since they sometimes contain errors and omissions, but in this case, I see no sign of the vent windows. Now if someone would do an AMT vs. Revell '40 Ford coupe comparison, that would be great.
  17. The Charger 500 in '70 was an option IIRC, not a separate "special" model as in '69. How's Europe goin', Bubbles?
  18. No, the Revell '65/'66 are actually the Monogram 1/24 scale kits. The 1/25 AMT '67 should work fine, Frank.
  19. One person's comments should not be extrapolated for all MCM forum members, so keep posting the info, Scott. It's great (and appreciated) to have someone who is a Revell Preferred Partner on the forum providing that info for everyone...even if a few disagree with that info.
  20. Very nice, clean work, Rickard, and I love the lime-gold chassis color.
  21. The interior floor halves are now one, and I'm happy with how they matched up since the only visible cut lines are located under the door panels. The seat base riser area from the stock kit was slightly higher than the Hemi's floor, but it won't be an issue once the interior is assembled and finished: The interior base/floor was welded to the chassis/floorpan tonight, so I will get to work sanding, filling, and smoothing out the transmission tunnel and toeboard areas tomorrow. There's a huge ejector pin mark and some filler pieces will be necessary around the transmission hump: I need to find the headrests from the '69 kit, too, and install them on the '68 bucket seats, and I've removed the kit's torsion bars and started cleaning up the molded in overlap areas on the steering linkage, too. I think the strut bars are going to be removed next, as they don't look very good and shouldn't be too difficult to replace with some rod stock and scratchbuilt brackets on the K-member.
