Now that is one beautiful Nomad! A real treat to look at Bob. Looking forward to more of your creations.

Thanks Ricky. It's the only model that I ever succeeded in brush painting. Never been able to pull it off since!
-
Thanks Robert. Yes, the old AMT kit is FAR from perfect, but it pretty much builds out-of-the-box like that if you leave the fenders off.
-
Love this! Great work.

Knocked me dead with your first post Lou! Amazing work on the old Airfix kit. Welcome and I'm certainly looking forward to seeing more of your masterful work. -
Did this one a while back. The red was actually brush painted using a Games Workshop acrylic with a rattle can clear over the top. Had some decals that came with the Lindberg 32 Hot Rod kit re-issued some time back so I could sort of replicate the old AMT box art.

Looks great Bruce! Paint looks fantastic. Reckon you could upload some bigger photos?

Looks good from here James! I think a problem all builders have is during construction we stare at the model for weeks (even months) and see flaws that no-one else will notice.

I can relate to losing your dog Craig. Last year we lost our 18 year old terrier Spike. We'd got him for my son's 10th birthday- my son was 28 when Spike passed. LOVE the Olds mate! That paint....... -
You'll feel at home here Craig!

Looking good Steve. To my eye, the '69 Corvair is one of the prettiest shaped cars ever. Best of luck with this project!

Hey Mike. Being part of this forum will see your modelling skills go the opposite direction to what you think! Nice Charger BTW.

Started on another AMT 63 Corvette- a hardtop like the real one pictured but as often happens, got distracted with something else: a split window fastback 63 that I'd built (badly) a while back as a stock 327. Stripped back the paint but decided to do the kit's drag version with the 4 Weber carb 427 and kit decals. I really like those headers exiting out the sides, but I've got a snowflake's in hell of getting that body to go around them if I construct complete engine and chassis as usual. Inserting the complete engine/headers through the hood opening is out, and trying to attach the headers after the engine is in the car won't do my blood pressure any good so the only way I can see is to have the complete engine sitting freely in the inverted body, slipping the chassis in place and then spot gluing engine/chassis afterwards. If anyone else has successfully pulled this operation off, please let me know how you did it!!

Top job Dana! Paint looks great.

Thanks David. It's the Round2 re-issues of these classic kits in their retro boxing that got me into car modelling 10 years or so ago. Even if the kit itself proves to be so-so, I can't deny it's the box artwork that hooks me in!

Nice job on every part of this build!

Recently joined member myself Tom so I can say with absolute certainty you'll be made most welcome by people who are only too willing to help you get the best out of your model building.
-
Good to see this one! Don't know if my memory is correct, but was this ever a Hot Wheels die cast model?
-
Nice work again David! Love that colour too.
