Dropped the ball & chain and we're moving to.....
kitbash1 replied to SfanGoch's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Glad things are working out for you and your son and cat. -
I would like to know what the groups thoughts are of having a For Sale section on the site. I know that Gregg had a version of a kits for sale page that didn't pan out, and was taken down. I'd like to sell my kits to people on this site who will build or add them to their collection, instead of putting them on ebay and seeing them show up on sale again a month later at an inflated price. I know it will be up to Gregg as it is his site, so I'm just putting this out there.

Yes. I buy more then I build. At the last count, I had just over 2000 kits. I retired in 2018. And I thought that I'd have a lot more time for building, but that didn't happen. Between doing things around the house, the grand kids and going to car shows with my 1955 Oldsmobile I haven't found the time to build. I didn't buy any new kits since the summer and don't see myself buying any more until the Revell Le Mans Ford GT comes out. But lately I've been thinking of reducing my stash to a more managable number. Since my wife and I retired we have been down sizeing our home and getting rid of the clutter, not that the kits are clutter, it's just my kids are not interested in my hobby. So I've been thinking of selling alot of my stuff so my wife isn't stuck figering out how to get rid of them when I'm gone. -
Tamiya '60s F1 Kits?
kitbash1 replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Those are the only two 60's era kits that Tamiya 1/20th. If you want other 60's F1 cars in that scale, you will need to look to Ebbro for the Lotus 49 & 49b or HFM for others. -
anyone know if Freds model world is closed?
kitbash1 replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got a reply from Fred Sterns about an hour or so ago. He said that he will be posting updated lists in a few days. He also said that his site was down to do improvments to it. This is good news for any one looking for kits. -
USPS should cut you some slack on this. I hope it works out for you.

Styrene casting test, not a complete failure

My 2 cents on this. Scott. MEK is a known cancer causing chemical, and is very dangerous stuff to handle. I worked in the printing field for over 35 years and we used MEK as a cleaning solvent. When we used it we had to have on, Rubber gloves, a resporator and safety glasses. MEK was banned for use in our industry in 1998, because of a number of people were getting sick from exposure to MEK and other chemicals with high levels of VOC's ( Volitile Organic Compounds ). If you want to play around with this stuff, it's your choice to do so. It's your health. If it was me, I'd stear clear of this stuff. -

Your " Loud-Hailer " is for a Police version of the 356. German Police used these on the Auto-Bahn. I'm surprisied that the decal sheet doesn't come with the Polizei ( Police in Greman ) script or the police licence plates.

You can alway's remove it and replace it with a PE wiper.

Naw, naw... It's just resting. -
You can use Epoxy Glue but don't use the quick setting 5 min. kind . Use the slower setting regular epoxy. Since I think that this is the first time your using Photo etch parts, stay away from Super Glue as it sets up too quickly if you need to re-adjust the piece on the body.

Found it fairly quickly.

Was just notified that the Ajax Model car show has been canceled and will not be back. I was looking forward to this show at the end of October.
