  1. I've heard of using clear paint to attach photo-etch parts. I've never tried it. At least it wouldn't damage the paint like glue could (provided the clear is compatible with your finish) or be as noticeable as a glue blob/ mark.
  2. I have a few of the Willys kits in the non-Malco release version and a set of aftermarket decals for one of them, that is why I asked.
  3. Does that Kent Fuller dragster have a Chevy engine? And is that the only option?
  4. Like the article mentions, the chemicals might damage the plastic. And who knows what it would do to resin parts. Standard sanding and polishing would remove any surface oxidation and restore the whiteness. But I don't think there is a permanent solution.
  5. In addition to the saw and Dremel tool you have, there are also several different saw blades for standard X-Acto handles. And there are also photo etch blades for the same handles. I keep some of each on hand for smaller cuts. Photoetch saw blades remove less material than standard blades, but they do bend easier.
  6. Mustang or Willys?
  7. Really liking this build. You are tempting me to build a custom truck.
  8. For me, the ideal ratio would be 8 hrs of each.
  9. hmmm.... can you say hot rod Fergusen?
  10. Got in an hour of yard work and 5 hrs. of bench time.
  11. second round of bodyline work on a custom Torino, front end Chassis work on a 51 Chevy, decals on a model T delivery, Frame and running board mods almost complete on 25 T and original Ala Kart (parts box build) kit bash, and found a few kits to trade
  12. My apologies for my last post in this thread. My intention was not political.
  13. R.I.P. Gene. He was right up there with Watson and Bill Hines. I never met him, but I remember him flagging the run-whatcha-brung drags at the KKOA Salina show. Guess I need to get that '40 Sedan Delivery built OOB now.
  14. '53 Ford pick-up. Found model kits hidden at the back of my local Wal-Mart. None of the 3 other subjects really spoke to me. And the nontoxic glue is a no-go for me.
  15. The fact that my anti-virus kicked me out is enough warning for me not to visit a site. It isn't just the fishing attempt (that I couldn't close without closing my browser).
  16. I normally go with brands I know, but with the state of the economy I'm just looking at options. But quality blades that last a bit longer, do a better job, and are safer trump low cost.
  17. I'm needing to order some #11 blades. A certain website has the real deal blades and a whole bunch of cheaper ones. Anyone have experience with the off-brands? I know you get what you pay for.
  18. nothing much I am interested in. plus who knows where the economy is headed.
  19. I was just looking at missing lynx and had one of those scam pop-ups (Your computer is infected, click here so we can steal your info) come up and my antivirus blocked access. be careful
  20. I'm well stocked for many a year on models, Model RR and books.
  21. Bench time tomorrow? wild weather ride over the next 36ish hours: Severe T-storms ( hail, wind, maybe tornados), 70 MPH winds and finish up with snow. All are stressed as possible
  22. That truck is coming together nicely. At first, I was thinking the proportions looked off, but now I'm glad I stayed tuned to this "bat channel" as they used to say.
  23. UMMM okay. There is no line connecting the kit to the other show cars.I have a '27 Police car and an MMTC kit I have never compared them, but am now curious.
  24. The V-8 60 should be smaller than the regular flathead. The V-8 60 (60 HP) was a 136c.i., scale down flathead originally meant for economy, not performance.
  25. Good to see you back! get well quick.
