  1. They said we were supposed to get 6-9" Tues. night - Wed. We had about 3". Below zero last night and maybe tonight. freezing rain tomorrow morning and 40 degrees in the afternoon. Tomorrow night- Saturday they say maybe an 1" and back to single digit temps Sat night. Wouldn't be surprised if we get more.
  2. Not sure if it's been said, but any year Ranchero. or a 60-'63 Falcon
  3. I've never had Krylon, Rustoleum, Testors, or Duplicolor clears cause problems with decals. Other brands of paint, yes. How old were the decals? Old decals are notorious for breaking apart. Did you print them? If so,did you use the correct decal paper for your printer (ink jet or laser) and did you seal them before applying them? Are they aftermarket? If so you need to make sure you follow their recommendations
  4. I would love to see this subject in a new or even re-release.
  5. I have some Hot Wheels bought in England over 20 years ago in that size packaging.
  6. for me subject matter (pre-90s in subject and style) is my priority. build options is second and accuracy is third. That said, my stash is large, and another mustang, camaro, tri-five, '32 Ford. etc. won't get my attention.
  7. best wishes! Hope to see you back at the bench soon.
  8. How about gold mylar from a ballon?
  9. The point about it being original is a valid one. I personally would have tough time choosing whether to chop it or not. For my 2 cents, the chassis, engine, and interior really should be sympathetic to a '60s era custom. Mixing modern trends with '60s custom just doesn't work for me.
  10. Nice build. I appreciate the craftsmanship, but the 3/4 rear view just doesn't appeal to me. I can't quite put my finger on it.
  11. a '58 MOPAR, a '70 Torino 4 door, and a black cyber truck.
  12. the one's that sound like stuff rattling in an empty can? I can't stand the ones that sound like that. Give me a glass-pak or Thrush any day.
  13. Not as close as I thought it would be. Now, how do I find an Eagles championship jersey in Chiefs country (I prefer to shop local).
  14. Carl, you have my sympathies. I felt that when the Eagles lost the last time. We shall meet again! perhaps next year? I thought it would be closer.
  15. The Eagles won!!!!! The Eagles won!!!
  16. You made the right choice to save it. Perhaps a slight chop? 3" or less. And keep the wheel choice period appropriate.
  17. those rocker panels, lower fenders and quarters on the Packard make me want to get it on a lift to check out the chassis before committing to buying it. that said the topside does look pretty solid.
  18. My stash isn't going anywhere. In addition to over 300 kits, I have two shelves of full parts boxes.
  19. I think flat, clear paint is the best option. You could try laminating two layers and tinting the glue along the edges with some white paint or flat clear.
  20. congratulations John. It can be a tuff road. I've been down it myself.
  21. I would try it. If it hasn't leaked yet, it probably won't. As a non-engineer, I would say spraying it would reduce pressure and decrease the likelihood of failure if anything. plus releasing the compressed gas inside the can actually cool what's inside (look up auto-refrigeration effect), again reducing pressure
  22. Thank you Sean! I had seen the K-Mart, 7 Up, etc, but not the Sears version.
  23. I remember that too. It was the same logo on their catalogs if I remember correctly. Part of why I'm curious about what kit they came from. I don't recall ever seeing a sears truck kit from the late '70s when I started building on up to present day. All I've come up with for searches are the Die Hard NASCAR truck if I search Sears truck and just random stuff if I try the numbers from the back of the sheet.
  24. bingo on the style! If you read the text it calls out paint color suggestions for the Sears green, so I would think it was a kit. I don't know of any pressed steel trucks that you painted yourself. It came in a "junkyard" lot from an online auction at some point is all I can figure.
  25. It is not the NASCAR truck. definitely pre-dates that It is a small sheet with Sears in white within a white rectangle and a few black stripes. At one end it has vague instructions on how to mix the old Sears green and a small paint chip to judge the color by. I remember similar markings on sears catalogs growing up in the '70. The sheet has no other sponsor logos, no Diehard, no numbers. Judging by how yellowed the paper is, it has to be early '70s or earlier.
