Does anyone know if there ever was a study on why we do studies to find out the obvious? Tonight's news featured a story about a study that showed existing highway safety items (barriers, guardrails, etc.) are not effective for electric vehicles because electric vehicles weigh more. Duhhhhhh!

Thank you all for the information. I will just keep looking for either body. Both instructions and boxes appear to show the same parts and part numbers, so I will go out on a limb and search for either body. It doesn't have to be 100% accurate for me, just look the part. many real cars have mix and match parts later in their life (either accident repairs or customizing)

A bit curious, but I would like to find another body. The kit is complete except for the body. If there is no difference in the shell between the two years, it might increase my odds of finding a donor/ incomplete kit

That is where I am stuck. The rear panels are not there. The body was hacked up. The top of the body aft of the hood is missing (but I do have two complete roofs) all the way to the rear bumper. The sides have been shortened a good inch or so. In effect, all I have of the body is front fenders, hood, under-hood areal, two rooves, and modified rear quarter panel/ door units.

I was looking through some of my restore it someday kits and came across a slight mystery. From an auction some years ago I bought a lot of old AMT kits Included were boxes for both '63 and '64 Riviera kits. Instructions for both are there the layout of the instructions is a bit different, but the text and drawings are the same. There are only enough parts for one kit. Was there a difference in the bodies? The reason I ask is the body was cut apart and the sides shortened, so I need to source a new body.

Has anyone ever tried artists fixative over decals? It is used over charcoal and pastels to keep them from smudging/ smearing.

because two doors are "sporty, lighter, more performance oriented, more beautiful" etc. The same reason auctions for 1:1 cars favor 2 doors. personally, I like station wagons. And just a note on the'78 Monaco: It started life as a two door kit. The four door kit came a few years later as the Force 440 police car, and then evolved into Roscoe's police car and the Goon Car. The two door has not been seen since roughly 1978 if I recall correctly

How about liquid decal film over top of the printed decals? If it works to hold old decals together, might it work to seal the ink?

To clarify, Texas 3D shipped them quickly after my purchase. USPS took over a week via 8 locations to get it to me.

as for the clear, unless it is specifically for sealing decals, you might want to test it. the colors may run/ blur depending on the solvents in the paint. I would stick to several very light mist coats until I get the desired coverage.

Those are all awesome decals. I wish someone in the aftermarket would do up a sheet of them.

I have both laser and inkjet paper. I've tried lower and higher on every setting I could find. colors are always off. I just think it is something with the design of the printers. has there ever been a thread on decal friendly printers?

I have been struggling too. I have a Brother Laser jet. black always looks gray, red leans to Magenta or brown, etc. I've tried plain. photo, and decal paper. adjuste darkness, density, photo setting, calibration and everything i can think of with no effect. I know Alps printers are the best for decals, but I don't have the luxury of a second printer.

mail call here too. just received a Polar Lights Undertaker dragster. And two days ago received some sweet engines from Texas3D.

what size hemi is this? It would have to be somewhere between 241 and 392, since the dragster was built for '63 if I recall correctly.
