Darker black for homemade decals?
rattle can man replied to BK9300's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I have both laser and inkjet paper. I've tried lower and higher on every setting I could find. colors are always off. I just think it is something with the design of the printers. has there ever been a thread on decal friendly printers? -
So I like many types of music, but the current crop of pop music leaves un-impressed. I've found the following radio stations to stream while building. feel free to add to the list. WCLZ, Portland Maine. slogan is "different is good" modern music, but not big name pop artists you usually hear on the radio. Big Radio stations, Wisconsin and Illinois. Oldies, Country from '60's to 90's, and classic rock Groovy 105.7, Tulsa Oklahoma, '60s & '70s WKKFI Kansas City, various genres: blues, rockabilly, Soul, old country, Jazz, and even a program that is strictly music from '45s. KMUW, wichita. Sunday night soul and blues shows retrococktailhour.org "home of space age pop and incredibly strange music". Tiki, TV, spy Jazz, exotica and so much more. stream and episode or stream the new on-line radio station

That's what I'm thinking of. But I need to get a full page together before I do it. -

I have been struggling too. I have a Brother Laser jet. black always looks gray, red leans to Magenta or brown, etc. I've tried plain. photo, and decal paper. adjuste darkness, density, photo setting, calibration and everything i can think of with no effect. I know Alps printers are the best for decals, but I don't have the luxury of a second printer. -
mail call here too. just received a Polar Lights Undertaker dragster. And two days ago received some sweet engines from Texas3D.

what size hemi is this? It would have to be somewhere between 241 and 392, since the dragster was built for '63 if I recall correctly.

someone doing 25 in a 40 and braking for no reason. That and people stopping for green lights.

where do i find the online version? I've subscribed to it, but can't find it. -
Where ever yall live, I envy you for stores with interesting and new kits. My Hobby Lobby, Michaels, JoAnn's etc. never have any new releases. And my LHS says he will order you anything you want, after three unsuccessful tries I gave up.

Real vehicles lose their shine because of sunlight, weather, pollutions, dirt, etc. Your model won't be exposed to these conditions, will it? Polish contains fine abrasives. If you polish every month, you eventually will polish through the paint. If you clear coat it, then you risk getting some texture that you will then need to polish out. I'd suggest just a good wax if you feel you need to do something. Dust with a soft brush once in a while;

I remember it with a normal scoop/ hat and brighter yellow paint, but that sure looks like it otherwise. I have to check my other, 10-year-old computer. -
I wonder if the Daytona still has both the '87 and '88 turbo set ups. I have an '88 and an '87 version. The '88 still had the parts from the '87 version.

nice save! Is the tool being used to make the center of the trim concave? or is it to give different "layers"/ steps to the trim? I'm trying to visualize the tool and how it is used, but not quite connecting the dots.

I've been looking for a photo but I'm having issues finding my files of car shows. Around 10 years ago I went to the KKOA Salina show and saw a blown Big block Ford powered Nash Rambler. barely enough room between the slicks for a rearend. the whole car shook when he revved it. -

Remember, perfect paint is for show cars. If that is your goal, I agree with re-spraying the whole car. But if it is a daily driver, a paint mismatch is not uncommon. Just repair the hood. Cars do occasionally get to the dealership with a very slight mismatch between panels, or perhaps it had to be repainted due for some reason( accident, peeeling clear coat/ paint, vandalism, damage during shipping, etc.
