  1. Great news. You'll be up and dancing in no time!
  2. just thought I'd ask before diving in. I'm busy scheming and dreaming since I'm not even a week since shoulder surgery.
  3. It could be something else, Deer like birdseed. I once caught mama deer batting my feeder with her nose and her two young ones eating it off the ground.
  4. There is an intact, but retired Bucyrus Erie in KS. If you ever come through, check it out. much more interesting than the World's Largest Ball of Twine. Big Brutus, Inc. – Dedicated To The Mining Heritage of Southeast Kansas. But I can't say if it is more interesting than The World' Largest Collection of the Smallest Versions of the Largest Things since I haven't been there yet
  5. I just haven't seen anything new in that thread. I assume people who sold thought them would have found other companies to sell through by now.
  6. I would assemble the engine then assess the fit. many real world factory engines have the exhaust manifolds configured differently on the right and left sides for packaging and controlling the heat exposure of other components. Does one manifold have the exit at the back and the other further forward? Are the cylinders staggered when looking at the top of the engine?
  7. Does anyone have info on where to find the vendors that previously sold on Shapeways?
  8. Two questions as I plan out a build: Is there a source reflective stripe material? s[ecifically in solid blue and white to run the length of the truck. Or do i just use metallic paini and spray them? is there a source plain old fleet front bumpers? as in no rub strips or wind deflectors. just seeing if I can avoid surgery and chroming. Thanks in advance.
  9. just because you can doesn't mean you should
  10. Teal metallic and white '60 Caddy convertible with color-matched trailer and FED. I was driving, so no pic.
  11. No offense to Porsche lovers, but I never thought someone could make them even uglier.
  12. If I recall correctly, that kit was based off of the matt and Debbie Hays T-Bird. That's why it is a tad short.
  13. Still no rain. Nothing significant since August.
  14. Scale Motorsport has them. I have no idea if they are the same as the originals.
  15. I did not notice instructions for the Prestige edition, just the follow-on release with the gray car box. try looking at the other previous releases for instructions. I do have an annual release somewhere in my stash. It had the Yenko Stinger optional build along with some custom parts.
  16. Years a go a farmer in NW KS had a race prepped flathead in a ford tractor. It made one of the hot rod magazines.
  17. Scalemates has the instructions for the release after the Prestige. Just search instructions for Corvair and scroll down.
  18. One thing I noticed with Bondo glazing putty is a chopped top on a '65 Pontiac I built 20 years ago has shrunk and you can now see the seams. And as for 2-part putties, If you use a product that is not proven by other modelers, test it on scrap before you use it on your model. I one tried regular 2 part automotive filler (maybe 35 years ago, so maybe chemistry has changed.), and as it cured, it created enough heat to warp the hood.
  19. As for proportions, what are you after? I will give you that the proportions may look odd, but the kits that were marketed to convert coupes to pickups were designed to slide into the existing opening. I believe the factory '36 Chevy Coupe-pickup used the factory opening with bed extensions added. If the body work was cut away, you can either build a custom bed or utilize a stock truck bed. A used truck bed would probably have been the cheapest
  20. what about glass form the '55 panel delivery? I don't have either to check, but at least the front end looks similar.
  21. The bezels are not perfect circles correct? From the pictures I've seen (I am a Ford guy, so I'm not really familiar with Camaros) they look like squares with rounded corners and slightly curved sides. From all I've read on this sight and experienced you have 4 options: 1) hand form some strip stock of appropriate size and shape to fill the gap or create a new bezel 2) make a template and cut a replacement from sheet stock. 3) you could make a clay mold of the area, clean up the flawed area in the mold to restore the shape and cast a new bezel. If the bezels are identical on the left and right, you could try just making a mold of the good side. 4) Use filler to build up the area, then sand to shape.
  22. two Rivian pickups. My first real world sighting. much better looking than the Cyber Truck, but still not what I would call good looking.
  23. how about a model T bed? it might slide in place with just a little finagling
  24. They get to my door or box eventually. It's getting there that takes forever. An order from Texas took 10 days via 8 postal facilities to get to KS. I could have driven there and back in 2 days.
  25. I see Model Roundup has changed the expected delivery date to November.
