  1. I picked up the Aug Vintage Trucks magazine recently quite a few interesting vehicles: a '75 C-10, Sanford and Son F-1, '79 dodge Macho Power Wagon, 75' International pick up, and a '36 Chevy Coupe-pickup (think U.S. ute/ very early El Camino). Not much hands on, but some good reference photos.
  2. when painting an old kit "molded in color, I know you need a good primer or sealer to prevent color bleeding through. I have also seen it recommended to use silver paint. my question is what about other "metal" finishes such as copper or gold?
  3. diagonal tires? do you mean the suspension was linked diagonally?
  4. The price puts it way beyond my reach. otherwise, I might be interested in the subject matter.
  5. what about the exploding/ burning Chevy pickups with the saddle tanks outside of the frame? NBC may have rigged their tests, but the story came from somewhere.
  6. I grew up in the '7os and don't remember them I-d check whith companies like Coker that make tires for restorations.
  7. i wasn't sure if the tape sticky side of the tape would stick to the putty or not.
  8. When using silly putty to mask something, DO you tape large areas and then use the silly putty to finish th between the tape and where the edge of the mask wing will be? ie. when masking a chassis/frame unit, mask the large areas of the floor with tape and then use silly putty over the tape edge and up to the frame?
  9. I would love a new fox body Mercury Capri
  10. have you tried your local library? some have printers you can use. they even can help you.
  11. If those bright headlights are properly aimed, they are not a problem. It is when people change the settings, raise or lower the vehicle without correcting the aim, or repairs are not done properly that they become a problem
  12. I found my subject. now to get to work. hopefully an easy, post-surgery build.
  13. I suppose the Chevy decals are for the corvette parts of the front suspension and perhaps where they sourced the Borg-Warner T-10 from.
  14. subject and price are what is important to me.
  15. thank you for the info.
  16. It is an F-set with a F#1L single action.
  17. Well, I won a Paasche airbrush beginners kit for $15 plus shipping. Next up is read up on compressors (mainly can I use my 20 gallon shop compressor, and if so what do I need) and respirator
  18. Aoshima makes some 4 lug wheel sets, not sure if any of them will meet your requirements
  19. I have the grille and all of the stock parts.. I bought the kit in an online auction under the impression it was complete. I also have the grille for the AMT beetle, just not the other custom parts. Maybe some custom parts for a '63-'67 Vette? fender flares, wide body, or front end. I have rear body work and roof covered. Ford van body only? I just want the roof for a custom idea straight or dropped front axles for hot rods or gassers quick change or two speed rearends period style business decals suitable a stock c-cab model T delivery truck.
  20. the potential buyer says no interest in a racing facility. Looks like it will go the way of our blues club.
  21. is brand name. no video or dis assembled pics. I will likely go for it unless bids go too high.
  22. maybe eventually. I just saw a used, name brand airbrush with low starting bid.
  23. Anyone have thoughts about buying a used airbrush from an on-line auction?
  24. Trade for something interesting (Not a Chevy or post '80s stuff) Somehow I ordered 1:16 scale instead of 1:24/ 25 a few years ago. I am looking for the custom parts for a Revell Barris Rolls-Royce beetle or AMT custom '40 ford VW beetle parts.
  25. Can anyone recommend a good source for basic 3d printing info for someone not familiar with the technology (from CAD to slicers tom hardware)? If Shapeways doesn't come back in some form, I am tempted to start printing.
