  1. G’day Topher, I’ll be following this thread as every car modeler should build a car that they used to own. I’ve got one in the pipeline myself. ?? And yeah, I usually have 2-3 builds on the go in varying stages of assembly. Cheers, Stuart.
  2. Really wasn’t happy with the exhaust, couldn’t get the two sides symmetrical, so I’ve started again. I’ve drilled into the mufflers and inserted styrene rod. I’ve got some metal tube that will slide over the styrene rod and form the rear part of the exhaust. It’ll still exit to the side but should be neater and easier to get symmetrical.
  3. G’day Michelle, I see you’ve taken that concept drawing and made the model of it. Nice tribute to the Aussie Charger, that orange you’ve used looks very close to “vitamin C”, one of the original VH Charger colours. Nice work.??
  4. Great build and a classic colour combo. Well done. ??
  5. That is one sweet looking truck. Every element of the build is excellent. The seat in particular has a fabric look to it despite being a decal. Well done. ??
  6. Wow! There’s a lot of detail work in that vinyl top. Awesome work. ?? Certainly was one of the more “out there” options available for car buyers back then.
  7. Body parts have been given 3 coats of Tamiya TS-13 clear. Going to give it a couple more weeks to harden up a bit then I’ll start the process of polishing it up. I’m enjoying this one, custom builds give a lot more freedom to use your imagination. I can see a lot more custom builds in my future.??
  8. The single exhaust in the kit wasn’t really going to cut it, so I rummaged through the parts box and cobbled this together. The passenger side is yet to be installed.Painted the underside of the tray. Tried to replicate wood grain. Not too sure about it but it’ll pass.
  9. G’day Michelle, l remember this show. You’ve done the Valiant nicely, especially around the front. Even Lucky Grills has his moustache and his, shall we say, portly stomach. ???

Beautiful finish on an elegant vehicle. ??
  11. Wow! The level of detail in the back is incredible, really looks like someone’s home away from home.??
  12. G’day Michelle. Yeah, Cop Shop was pretty big on Aussie TV back in the day. Nice work on the XC, looks good particularly around the front. Victoria police logos are on point too. ??
  13. G’day Michelle. I have vague recollections of seeing reruns of this show as a kid. I guess it’s the main reason I love American cars, seeing them on TV as a kid. Nice work on the Mustang. ??
  14. G’day Michelle, I like the paint on this one, it does have a nice subtle colour change as it’s turning on the carousel. Nice work. ??
  15. Nice job Michelle. ?? Good looking little car, these Dusters.
  16. This is going to look cool. I’m going to keep an eye on this. ??
  17. Yep, that’s ready for the burnout comp. Beautiful finish and detail on this one. ?? I recently got the DDA HQ Kingswood kit to build up a replica of one l owned back in the 80’s.
  18. G’day everyone. Just finished this, put it on here because as far as I know “Hemi Thunder” is a fictional name from Revell and not actually a real super stock drag car. ( please correct me if I’m wrong and it needs to be moved to the Drag car section ).This is the second car I built and the one where l discovered that Tamiya ts-13 clear eats decals for breakfast if applied too heavily. Dejected, I put it back in its box and forgot about it. Recently I found it and decided to resurrect it. Armed with a second set of decals courtesy of another 68 Dart kit I plan to build as the standard version, l stripped the body and started again. Long story short, here it is 3 years after I initially started it. The hood won’t close properly but that’s down to me as l may have mounted the radiator slightly too high. As always, any comments welcome. Cheers, Stuart.
  19. That window trim came out nice and neat. I’m a 57 Chevy fan, so I’m getting on board to watch the progress on this one. ??
  20. That’s one tuff looking truck. ??
  21. G’day Steve, this 57 body looks smooth and glassy. I’d say you’re definitely on the right track with the painting part of a build. Good stuff. ??
  22. Cheers Carl, I’m really enjoying this one. It’s turning out how l envisioned it.??
  23. Thanks Bob, I’ve got most everything painted, it’s just assembling it all. Also wrestling with the idea of drilling a tiny hole into the cab and putting a piece of thin wire to represent a radio antenna.
  24. Looks to me like a nice paint job. Smooth and shiny. Nice work. ??
  25. I’d almost forgotten about that TV show. That’s a really nice looking build, very subtle weathering. ??
