Another 1953 Ford F100

That surface rust on the front fender looks so realistic. ?? Cheers, Stu. -
1960 Ford F100 Service Truck
STU111 replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That looks very nicely finished with excellent patina. I like the look of an old faded pickup, it’s a finish I’m trying to perfect on my truck builds. Again, looks great.?? Cheers, Stu. -
G’day Michelle. You’ve captured the look of the XB GT coupe nicely, especially around the front and side profiles. You must put a lot of planning into these. Looks great. Cheers, Stu.

Cheers mate, thanks for the advice.??
-
You’ve done a great job there Michelle. I had an XA Falcon with the GS rally pack back in the 80’s ( wish l still had it! ) I’m enjoying checking out your builds. Keep ‘em coming.?? Cheers, Stu.

You had my attention at “57”! I do love a 57 Chevy and you’ve done a great job of this one. I remember building this kit as a kid and recently bought the re-release from MPC. I like the smooth look with the Bel-Air side trim removed. ?? Cheers, Stu.

Great work on a classic Aussie muscle car. Nice choice of colour with the electric blue. What was it like to assemble? I’ve heard some say the plastic used is a little resistant to normal styrene glue. I’ve got the DDA LJ Torana but haven’t built it yet. Cheers, Stu.

G’day David. Great Vette you’ve got there. Love the US Anson style wheels on it, a real period touch. What base, if any did you use under the Tamiya pearl green? I have a 65 Impala kit that I think would look good that colour. Again, nice work.?? Cheers, Stu.

G’day everyone, thank you for your kind words on what was probably the most frustrating build I’ve done to date. Nice to know some of you guys are familiar with this kit and that there are some fit issues with it and that it wasn’t all down to me. It hasn’t put me off building another one, I’d like to do a split bumper version at some point to go with this one. Cheers, Stu.

I looked it up, you posted it just before I joined the forum. That’s awesome mate, the saddle coloured interior trim looks great against the gold body. ??
-
That looks beautifully detailed and finished, l especially love the interior. I’ve never had a lot of success working with resin, so l admire your work on the body. I always wondered why the 67/68 hardtop shape hasn’t been kitted by a big kit brand, I’d certainly buy a couple if it was. Cheers, Stu.

Love the details on the Hemi. You say that you plan on building more Cudas in high impact colours , l say bring ‘em on. I look forward to seeing them. ?? Cheers , Stu.
-
Well, if l could find a way to shrink myself to the same scale as that Corvette, I reckon I could get in the drivers seat, and that it would start up and l could drive off in it, it’s that realistic! Cheers, Stu.

G’day everyone, Here’s another build of mine. This was my fourth car build and boy, didn’t this one put up a fight! Should’ve realised it was a bad omen when l opened the box and the body was warped and the roof had a slight indent in it. After repairing that, the back window wouldn’t fit properly and the interior assembly had to be trimmed in a couple of places to fit. If it wasn’t for the fact that I’m a big fan of the gen2 Camaro/ Firebird series, I would’ve done Hulk smash and binned it. Must’ve got a bad copy l guess or something l did wrong, but I persevered and this is how it turned out, finished in Tamiya TS-21 gold as it was closest to factory Autumn gold. With TS -13 clear. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Stu.

Another nice build of a lesser known Mopar. I’d heard of South American Dodge Chargers based on the Dart, but not these South African ones you’ve modeled here. Looking forward to seeing your Aussie Charger builds .?? Cheers, Stu.
-
Thanks Steve, I’ve looked it up and it was a good read. I intend to put that method into practice on my next build with wheel arch trim. Cheers, Stu.
-
I do like a nice modified 57. That does look sweet.?? Cheers, Stu.
-
The only thing missing is the ignition key. That’s awesome, at first I thought the under bonnet/ hood image was of a real Camaro. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Stu.

71 Olds 442 W30 (replica of my brother in law’s car)
STU111 replied to Steve H's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Recently joined the forum, so I’m playing catch up, but what I’ve seen of this build has blown me away. Will be watching the progress eagerly. Cheers, Stu. -
I love the way you’ve put various parts of US Mopars together and built an Australian one. Must have took some planning. As XYHARRY said in his post, they’re pretty rare, most of them were 4 door versions with the 2 door making up a fraction of all production. Cheers, Stu.
-
That’s a nice clean build of one of my favourite US muscle cars. I like it a lot.?? Cheers, Stu.
-
That’s awesome Michelle, the Mustang is a popular car here in Australia and l think a batch of 1/1 versions of what you’ve got here would fly out of the Ford dealers. Nice work. Cheers, Stu.
-
Thank you everyone for your kind words on the Duster. This was the first build that l bare metal foiled the wheel arch mouldings. Foiling is still something I struggle with. Cheers, Stu.
-
Sounds like it was set up nicely. You said “was” a fun car, l take it he no longer has it?
-
Well………..the passenger side didn’t quite play nice, but I got it almost all the way. Thanks for your kind words.??
