  1. G’day everyone, Here’s another build of mine. This was my fourth car build and boy, didn’t this one put up a fight! Should’ve realised it was a bad omen when l opened the box and the body was warped and the roof had a slight indent in it. After repairing that, the back window wouldn’t fit properly and the interior assembly had to be trimmed in a couple of places to fit. If it wasn’t for the fact that I’m a big fan of the gen2 Camaro/ Firebird series, I would’ve done Hulk smash and binned it. Must’ve got a bad copy l guess or something l did wrong, but I persevered and this is how it turned out, finished in Tamiya TS-21 gold as it was closest to factory Autumn gold. With TS -13 clear. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Stu.
  2. Another nice build of a lesser known Mopar. I’d heard of South American Dodge Chargers based on the Dart, but not these South African ones you’ve modeled here. Looking forward to seeing your Aussie Charger builds .?? Cheers, Stu.
  3. Thanks Steve, I’ve looked it up and it was a good read. I intend to put that method into practice on my next build with wheel arch trim. Cheers, Stu.
  4. I do like a nice modified 57. That does look sweet.?? Cheers, Stu.
  5. The only thing missing is the ignition key. That’s awesome, at first I thought the under bonnet/ hood image was of a real Camaro. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Stu.
  6. Recently joined the forum, so I’m playing catch up, but what I’ve seen of this build has blown me away. Will be watching the progress eagerly. Cheers, Stu.
  7. I love the way you’ve put various parts of US Mopars together and built an Australian one. Must have took some planning. As XYHARRY said in his post, they’re pretty rare, most of them were 4 door versions with the 2 door making up a fraction of all production. Cheers, Stu.
  8. That’s a nice clean build of one of my favourite US muscle cars. I like it a lot.?? Cheers, Stu.
  9. That’s awesome Michelle, the Mustang is a popular car here in Australia and l think a batch of 1/1 versions of what you’ve got here would fly out of the Ford dealers. Nice work. Cheers, Stu.
  10. Thank you everyone for your kind words on the Duster. This was the first build that l bare metal foiled the wheel arch mouldings. Foiling is still something I struggle with. Cheers, Stu.
  11. Sounds like it was set up nicely. You said “was” a fun car, l take it he no longer has it?
  12. Well………..the passenger side didn’t quite play nice, but I got it almost all the way. Thanks for your kind words.??
  13. G’day everyone, I‘ve just finished this one. It’s the Revell easy click kit, actually builds up pretty well if you want to build it like a traditional glue together kit. l went down the surfie path with this one, the roof carry bars l scratch built from evergreen styrene, the board is an aftermarket resin item and apart from that, all out of the box. I finished it in Tamiya TS-56 for the body and TS-7 for the roof and rims. I used some weathering compounds for a slightly dirty look, as every surfer knows, the best spots are at the end of a remote dirt road. ( Or so I’m told, l surf about as well as a house brick! ) Thanks for looking. Cheers, Stu.
  14. BRM and the Chevelle wheels are quite close in appearance, l have the Revell Samba splitty in the stash and I’d like to build it with that style of wheel. I’ll certainly check out your posted builds. Cheers, Stu.
  15. Now, that’s one sweet looking pickup! Prescription pill bottles repurposed for tubs? That’s a nice bit of ingenuity. ?? Cheers, Stu.
  16. That is one tough pro street GTX. Sharp build. ??
  17. G’day David. That Kombi looks awesome. Love the stance and colour combo. I’m actually putting the finishing touches on my build of the same kit. I’ll post it on here when it’s done. That’s also a nice collection of VW’s you have there.?? Cheers, Stu.
  18. That looks excellent, I’ve built this one too, but l did mine as an old worn looking farm truck. I didn’t build the go kart, but yours looks great. Cheers, Stu.
  19. Hi everyone, I built this one recently. I didn’t know much about Dusters apart from the fact the image of one featured on the cover of the album Heartbeat City by 80’s rock group The Cars. After doing some research on the Duster, I discovered that they are a highly sought after muscle car, considered by many to be a potent performer for a small block engine. l found it a great kit to build, the only drama was getting the side stripes straight. I finished it in Tamiya ts-22 as it was close to factory colour Sassy Grass Green. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Stu.
  20. Thanks for sharing this, I just thought it was a nice little bit of attention to detail that enhanced an already great build. Cheers, Stu.
  21. That’s a sharp build. Looks classic with the vinyl roof. Cheers, Stu.
  22. Love it. Looks like one of the cars from a Mad Max movie. ?? Cheers, Stu.
  23. Thank you everyone for the kind comments on the build. This model represents what I would have driven out in if l walked into a Dodge dealership with a wad of cash in 1970. Gotta love those “Hi Impact” Mopar colours. Cheers, Stu.
  24. I remember building that same kit as a kid back in the day. If my memory serves me correctly, it was molded in orange plastic and had a chunky set of tramp rods on the leaf springs. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Stu.
  25. Hi Brandon, l did the surface rust on my 60 Chev truck by priming with red oxide primer then body colour. After drying, I gently rubbed it down with very fine (2500 -3000 grit) paper until the oxide colour starts to come through then l finished it off by applying Tamiya rust weathering compound until I was happy with the result. Hope this is of some help. Cheers, Stu.
