  1. Excellent work on the Daytona, one of my all time favorite cars. I like the plexi front cars also. The details are well done and the foiling looks good. Nice paint, too. Nicely done. My next project is a Daytona, likely a mix of Italeri and Fujimi kits.
  2. Nice work an a very interesting subject. The colour seems to be right on. Well done.
  3. I'll be really impressed if he goes back up to retrieve his 2 tons of space junk and bring it back.
  4. Also, keep in mind that NONE of these strippers can be disposed of by pouring them down the sink or any other drain. Dispose of hazmat properly.
  5. That's a mighty big 'if'.
  6. Beautiful GT-40. In my opinion this one was the nicest looking of the '66 LeMans cars.
  7. The Tamiya polishing compound will work great. Clean the window well with warm water and soap to get rid of all trace of polishing compound residue. After the paint has been applied and cured, apply some Tamiya wax to the glass. It really makes the glass come alive, but no painting can take place after the wax has been applied. The same goes for glue on waxed surfaces. When using the polishing compounds, be careful to not stress the glass. I find that as I am polishing, my slippery, polish covered fingers tend to grip the glass tightly which can cause it to flex and induce micro stress cracks.
  8. That is a seriously awesome result. And thanks for the link to the webers, that will be very useful.
  9. This is one of the coolest projects I've seen in a while. Very well done. The mind boggles at the possibilities for companion pieces for this thing.
  10. The McMullen Roadster has been on my 'to do' for many years. What can you say; that thing is just plain mean. I think it is one of the best looking rods ever built, and it walks like it talks.
  11. Very impressive detailing work here. Your fine detail work is very clean.
  12. I am amazed at how closely some elements of the AMT sheet match the Lindberg sheet.
  13. Sad news indeed. A gentleman racer and all round nice fellow. And at the top of the list of my favorite 70s/80s pro/stock pilots. Yet another hero gone. R.I.P. Bob.
  14. I am simply amused that a truck the size of a house is adorned with a name that suggests it is a worthy trail vehicle. No matter anyway really, since the majority of the units sold will never negotiate anything more daunting than a mall parking lot.
  15. For what it's worth, from my experience I found the purple pond is effective on enamel but not lacquer. I haven't tried it on acrylic.
  16. True, plastic needs slow speeds, but also still true that smaller bits require faster speeds. Working with plastic this could be re-worded to say, the smaller the bit the faster the speed you can get away with using.
  17. I'm really digging this build!
  18. I use Bob Smith CA glues as well. I appreciate the variety of viscosities available and my LHS carries the lot. I will also pick up cheap 'single use' 4 packs of Krazy Glue for random jobs. The only accelerator I use is BSI. With the exception of some particularly troublesome Tamiya acrylic once, I have never had a problem with the stuff attacking paint, plastic, clear, or chrome. I apply it with a small pipette.
  19. Slammer time! Love the mean look.
  20. The kit on the Testors box art looks a lot like a Gunze Sangyo kit I have.
  21. de-soldering braid comes in several useful sizes and has a very accurate braid, but it is copper coloured so must be painted with the appropriate metaliser paint.
  22. Check out the drilled lower control arm.
  23. It's hard to add to the previous comments, but WOW, did you ever nail the details on this. The weathering and engineering are superb. This has to be the finest scale belly tanker I have seen yet. Outstanding!
  24. Yeah, there is a lot of P1800 in there. The design requires refinement, but with some work I think I could like this. It is certainly different, and has more potential than most vehicles from that part of the world. Neat.
  25. The Macho Mustang is one of my favorite kits from my childhood. Be aware that this kit is all race car. No stock parts at all.
