  1. I guess people like me that don't drink coffee are just out of luck and have to use the tried and true methode of hinging. But thanks for the tip anyway.
  2. The guy used Windex. What would Windex do with HOK paints that I believe are lacquer? Could lacquer thinner be used in such a machine? What about a larger unit filled with Purple Power - would it remove paint faster?
  3. Gatorboard is expensive! Very expensive! I asked about it at the local Michaels & Hobby Lobby (Ocala), but neither ever heard of it. Sounds like an online item. I took some foamboard and sprayed that stone look paint on it. It took only a short time for the foamboard to buckle. Maybe it was just me or the paint I was using to try and get a speckled look, but be careful when painting foamboard. I haven't tried it, but what about using the corregated plastic stuff that most of the signmaker people use? It's strong and light. I've been using it to make molds but maybe it could work for dio walls.
  4. Marvelous build. Must have taken a long time to do the engraving. Amazing work.
  5. Unreal, Mark. What a gorgeous build. I like shiny paint!
  6. Finally made some progress on my deuce coupe. Here's the interior and chassis. Like the seats? They're my castings and will soon be available from Crazy Scale Auto Parts.
  7. Or you could go to a place like this to get all kinds of colors http://www.craftflocking.com/index.php?pr=Home_Page
  8. That doesn't look bad. Can you clear it too?
  9. Nope. I live in Citrus Springs - about 130 miles southwest of Jacksonville.
  10. Nice looking build going on here. Keep going on it.
  11. I like it too!
  12. Looks good so far.
  13. Ohhhhhhhh that looks pretty.
  14. I don't know why, but I've always liked way up in the trucks. I really like this one. Ma's Resin has those wheels. Probably the tires too.
  15. Here's the pics I took at JaxCon 2011, Jacksonville, FL, February 5, 2011. http://s544.photobucket.com/albums/hh330/IMcrazyjim/#!cpZZ1QQtppZZ20
  16. Put the hemi in the 5 window deuce coupe.
  17. Haven't seen pics of the Martha Stewart flocking yet, so I'll stay with Ken's Fuzzi Fur for now. Maybe you can post some pics after you use it.
  18. I've casted some Spyder wheels. They're not as good as the ebay guy.
  19. Check out Ma's Resin for "steamroller" tires from way, way back.
  20. I think "O" scale would be it. The normal size Lionel train. HO is too small but people use HO scale rivets to make button tufted interiors.
  21. Welcome back to modeling. This build is looking interesting and I plan to follow along.
  22. I like your attitude, Alyn. Best of luck in the contest.
  23. Isn't the name of the TV show HOT ROD TV? Maybe that's why the hot rod theme. Maybe if this contest goes over well, Revell will have another and open it up to more of their kits. I'm still entering a build with the intention that it will never place, but at least Revell will know that I'm interested in the hobby.
  24. I'm not understanding the problem(s) with the Revell contest. When I found out about it, I thought it was a great idea that would make people aware - through the TV show - that model cars are still available and being built. I still do and plan to enter a build. So what's the problem?
  25. Every house in my old neighborhood had black pipe and round junction boxes. I t was heavy stuff - like water pipe - not light like the conduit we know today. The dio is looking very good.
