  1. Yep. And the funny part is it doesn't come with the hubcaps, just the wires. The wires are on the '54-specific chrome tree, so it's possible they'll be included with the Special sedan. Heck, it's possible they'll be the only wheels like in the coupe given their track record with contents not matching the box art.
  2. It's a Special, the lower-priced trim level. I doubt many people who bought Specials in real life sprung for the added expense of wire wheels, so I would be very surprised to see this kit come with them or whitewalls for that matter. 52 convertible and 54 Club Coupe are the only other current Hudsons. It's the convertible we should be chuffed about not coming with wire wheels as they'd be fitting on a convertible but not a lower-trim sedan. I used a couple pics in the start of this thread. Not sure if Moebius has ever shown it officially, but yes, there is a race version coming (Will be kit #1219). That's Moebius President Frank Winspur's dad's junior stock racer car.
  3. Yep, Simple "build and play" snapsSnap-tite kits with higher parts count (old Level 1)Glue kits with pre-painted bodiesGlue kits with fewer than 120 parts (old Level 2)Glue kits with more than 120 parts (old Level 3)
  4. Having been somewhat privy* to this kit during its design phase, I can assure you that somebody thought about changing the rear end. I don't know when or why it was changed to the Ford, but that was not what was spec'd in the initial design. IIRC, the roadster was supposed to have a finned aluminum Buick unit (a somewhat modern choice, but keeping with the Buick-themed driveline) and the coupe was supposed to have a quick change. As Tim said, I wouldn't be surprised to see one pop up in later versions. I guess somebody high up at Revell must really like Ford rear ends. * i know a guy who knows a guy...
  5. Take it from someone who's spent 15+ years in the hobby business - whatever you put on the box (or on a web page in my case) consumers don't read it. They just don't. Or I should say, the ones that would benefit from reading the box don't. And I may come off as a jerk for saying it, but in 2016 there's just no excuse for not knowing about a kit. I have a device that fits comfortably in my pocket that can access the entire internet and all the information on it. And it's available to everyone. Ignorance in 2016 is willful ignorance, anything we want to know is at our fingertips. We just have to want to know it.
  6. Tower's never right with dates. That said, they did say March originally, so maybe this is the revised date. Would shock the hell out of me to see it in April, though, but that is 2nd qtr...
  7. Yeah, it's the 2016 CAMARO SS.
  8. No way the Olds will be out in March, it would already have to be on the water from China. Odds are it won't be out in the 2nd Qtr either, which runs through July, given Revell's track record of the last 3 -4 years. And that's not a knock on Revell, it's just hard to get things out on schedule these days all things considered.
  9. We got ourselves some first-world anarchists...
  10. I don't blame them. AMT certainly has a better reputation for car models than Lindberg. Round2 owns them both, so they can call it whatever they want.
  11. Another angle:
  12. I have it listed as the Chevy SS, but a Camaro would probably make more sense given their history of Camaros. I'll have to check when I get back to work Mon to see what it really is. I'll assume it's a Showroom Replica until I hear otherwise. These are unassembled promos that Round2 licenses from the factory. I havent gotten any indication that they're developing a new car kit of their own design yet.
  13. Several Facebook groups/pages. I highly recommend Facebook for new product news and modelling stuff, even if you don't use it for anything else. It's killing forums (sorry, but it is...)
  14. Why!?!? Revell's already done 3 48 Ford kits (convertible, woody, and chopped coupe) and they were all theirs.
  15. They probably meant to put it on the Model A and/or the '48 and ran out of room.
  16. It will be, I'm sure. I didn't Photoshop it....
  17. Looks like the Chevy NASCARS will be Snap like the Fords, The 83 Hurst Olds wasn't just a rumor, and there will be a stock 48 Ford coupe. We already knew about the Model A coupe...
  18. I guess it's official now...
  19. And it's a '51, not a '49.
  20. As someone who makes a living working in this business, I'm ecstatic with what Round2 is doing with AMT, MPC, Lindberg and the other lines they now own. If you could see it from my side vs the way they were under RC2/Learning Curve you would see the difference. They're not milking AMT dry, they're saving the brand. Round2 does plenty of new tooling, just not automotive. They'e been clear as to their reasons why - they spent lots of money to buy existing tooling catalogs and new tooling dollars can be better utilized where there is less competition from both other manufacturers and their own catalog (like their sci-fi lines).
  21. They used some of the old parts masters but with modern technology to create the molds. The "new" parts have much sharper details.
