Revell (Germany) Ferrari 250SWB! New for October

I dont think thats the actual boxtop, but that is the style. I dont remember it being so prominent on the actual boxes I've seen. I'll try to get a pic of an actual box at work tomorrow. -
Revell (Germany) Ferrari 250SWB! New for October

The new boxes also have new redesigned color instructions. They've just started them, i think last month was the first stuff with the new boxes/instructions. -
Shouldn't be too hard, Model King did it as a generic Challenger funny car back in the RC2 days so we know the tooling's good.

Round2 is back working on as I understand it. The public has no idea the shambles Racing Champions/Learning Curve/RC2 left AMT & MPC in. Round2 is doing a pretty good job with what they have to work with.

It's because Tamiya goes through at least 2 levels of US distribution to get to store shelves (Tamiya USA plus whatever distributor the shop buys from) whereas there is no Revell Japan so HLJ/Beaver Corp is buying straight from Revell US and they can make Japan list price whatever they want to based on the cost they're paying. A fairer comparison would be to find a Japanese shop that buys Revell wholesale from Beaver and see what their prices are. Exchange rates are a factor, but the 2 level distribution is the main reason. And only suckers pay list... Source: worked in hobby distribution for 12 years

RPP's should be getting theirs now. Find RPP shops near you: http://www2.revell.com/cgi-bin/WRCS57505P.pgm?v=RV2

Look at their retail site, autoworldstore.com. They keep that a little more up-to-date.

He was with AMT from the early 60's up until the RC2 days, just before Round2. He's semi-retired/freelance now, he's in his 70's. I don't know him personally, but we have a mutual friend who keeps in touch with him. It's not a big industry secret he does some work for Revell and Moebius these days. -

Roger Harney didn't design the 29 Ford roadster (and 31 coupe), John Meuller did. It's possible he was part of the initial concept, it was in development for a while. The 50 Olds was Roger's pet project and unfortunately he died before it came out. -
Next release of Revell '70 Cuda; any update information?
Brett Barrow replied to '70 Grande's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yeah, you're right, Sept '14 is the oldest order we have for it. I just remember having an email conversation about it with someone at Revell back at my old job and since I took this new job in May '13 I haven't really spoken to anyone there about any new stuff. Must have been while it was still in development, I thought it was after it came out. Anyway, the Camaro has not sold as well (in my experience) as the Cuda or the notchback Mustang. Will have been a year and a half when the Nickey version hits, we got the 2nd Cuda and Mustang in about half that time. -

The 57 Ford being an oddball because we got the Del Rio as a 3rd variant that wasn't part of the initial design. For an example of a kit that hasn't sold that well, see how long it's taken for the 2nd version of the 67 Camaro to come out and it came out before the Cuda. -

It's been 2 years. Our last preorder was on 11/25/13 and our first regular stock order was 11/29/13. Sox & Martin version came in July 2014. Sales have been great* between the S&M and stock versions, I don't know where you all are getting (or just plain assuming) that it hasn't done well. 2 versions were planned from the design phase (which is the norm for Revell today), the fact that the second version followed so closely the first should be taken as a sign that it did well. *for this day and age. -

Closest thing I can think of, the Galaxie 47 Chevy Aerosedan with optional Country Club parts. -

The first Round2 kit that will feature Cartograf decals will be the new 22" Space 1999 Eagle. They have said they will be using Cartograf decals for certain kits going forward, I don't know if it means all kits. Cartograf decals are pretty much universally praised as the best in the industry. They print decals for lots of kit manufacturers and aftermarket decal companies. -
