  1. The Roadster pickup is what we're talking about here. I'm 99% sure it's a Lindberg original from the stone ages, I don't think it's a Pyro or anything they picked up along the way. I think it just had a name originally it wasn't until 90's/2000's reissues (pictured above) it was labeled as a 34. The AMT closed cab 34 pickup is a classic. This is... not.
  2. They've been out a week or two. I haven't opened one up for fear of melting my face off Ark of the Covenant style. It is an ancient Lindberg kit it's based on. It is made in the USA so it's git that going for it...
  3. their most recent Facebook post said 1055. Technically that is "600+" ,emphasis on the plus.
  4. No, I doubt they made two different widths for the stock and custom versions. I think the boxart modeler just painted them to the line like he assumed the printed tires would be. Honestly I like the smaller ones better.
  5. The pickup has the Winfield head.
  6. Probably whoever built the boxart model masked and painted the tires themselves. I think they look goofy that wide anyway but there were tires like that at the time. I like when the white wall ends at the apex of the sidewall bulge. I haven't seen a set of those 50 Olds tampo whitewalls yet that wasn't all chipped up,so the better alternative is to paint them anyway. (tampo on the right, painted on the left. taken from IMPS US review page. Get one of these and an airbrush loaded with white acrylic, it's easy.
  7. I did have 2 dehydrator-related accidents back when I had one without a temperature control. One was an armor model that had a metal gun barrel next to thin plastic gun shields the hot metal barrel caused the shields to deform, and the other was an aircraft cockpit that had a clear plastic instrument panel, the clear plastic melted. So I learned don't put metal or clear plastic in one. Now I have one with a temperature knob, but I still don't put metal or clear in it.
  8. Ah... Learning Curve-era AMT, you were the best!
  9. There's no iHobby this year, they're "retooling" it to a more consumer-oriented show that travels to different locations each year. It will now be in the spring starting next March in Edison, NJ. The internet and social media have rendered traditional "trade shows" worthless.
  10. About the same as the Lambos, $799.99 in the US (£549.99 in the UK).
  11. Intended, yes, and that's how they're advertised. But I looked at how many other folks were using them with other paints with no problems reported. I would guess it's more a liability thing on the manufacturer's part. They use a coreless motor computer-type fan and those don't spark, so I'm not too worried about it. I don't use anything too nasty anyway, rarely stronger than Tamiya lacquer.
  12. I bought one of these earlier this summer. Works great. Still smell a little bit while spraying, so I'd still wear the respirator if spraying the really bad stuff. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B2TESUQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00
  13. 1055 pieces, die cast and plastic. Announced back at Nuremberg where they had a prototype displayed, but this is the first we've seen of the innards.
  14. Reedoak Figures. They print them on some super-high resolution printer used in jewelry making. 3D scans of real people wearing correct uniforms and equipment. https://www.facebook.com/reedoakmodels
  15. C1 Models is working on one. http://websta.me/n/c1models
  16. The biggest thing is '70 GTO's had the endura front bumper standard (and the different front fenders that mated to it) and LeMans had the steel bumper standard. To call it a GTO isn't fair to the LeMans or Tempest models, they were cool cars on their own.
  17. Don and I used to work together and I remember him describing this one to me shortly after he built it. I know it's all plastic, forget how he modified the cowl, I think he grafted in a section from the Revell kit along the lower portion of the cowl and doors. I'll send him a message to check in, I see he hasn't logged into his other account since August!
  18. Pretty sure it's the AMT body modified to fit the Revell fenders & chassis. I think Don has a different account on here now, don't know if he'll see this.
  19. [puts on pedant hat] Technically it's not a GTO, it's a LeMans. [takes off pedant hat] That's pretty cool and it's weird that the sticks had benches and the auto had buckets, it would make more sense the other way around.
  20. This kit is all-new. Airfix and Heller used to be connected, but not since 2006. The Airfix kit, as Matt mentioned, was larger, approx 1/20th and hasn't been issued since 1959.
  21. We're taking pre-orders for it now. This is probably one of those kits that will sell out the first run quickly then take a while being restocked, so preordering is a good idea if you want one! http://www.megahobby.com/fergusonpetitgristractor124heller.aspx
  22. I'm really looking forward to this. My grandad has an Ford 8N that I grew up riding on and learing to drive. Shouldn't be too hard to convert, mayybe if we're lucky we might even get a resin conversion kit or if we're reeeeallly lucky Heller will see fit to do the Ford version. Not my grandad's actual tractor, but it looks just like this - only dirty!
  23. We (megahobby.com) will have the Ferguson tractor whenever it comes out. I don't think it's out in France yet. We just got the Jags in today.
  24. Only thing I can think of is the channeled version says use a different floor which is for a future variant while both versions should use the same floor. It's pretty obvious when test fitting that it's wrong it doesn't mate up to the firewall.
