  1. Maybe you hit the "Sign Up" button instead of the "Sign In"? Your old account still shows up under a members search - http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/661-mike-kucaba/
  2. Every time I see Revell at a show and they have a suggestion sheet out I write in "Restore the Little T".
  3. New Content, top right just below the search bar. Or the star if you're on mobile. I don't think the switch is to attract younger members directly, it's so the site works better on mobile devices which are being used more and more by users of all ages, especially younger people. One change I really like is that you can now quote a reply with a quote in it and it shows them both, the old way just quoted the single post, so sometimes you'd lose the context of the quote.
  4. Ok, so maybe it's a truck and not a station wagon per se, but a 64-65 Suburban would be cool and could be based on existing Revell tooling...
  5. Take modelcarsmag.com OUT of Compatibility View
  6. All theTri-Five Handymans (Handymen?) and Sedan Deliveries!!!!1!!!1!!!1! Especially a certain '56 SD.
  7. Click on the "time" under the user's icon on the right.
  8. We're preparing to switch to a new format on our website at work. I am not looking forward to it... We know we will lose customers, that's just part of the deal, but with better SEO and other benefits of the new design it should be a net positive in the long run. I will say that the new mobile version here looks like it has total functionality just like the desktop version, which wasn't the case with the old mobile version, there were things you couldn't do on the mobile site. It will take some getting used to, but more and more people are using mobile devices to browse the web now, and it will only continue to rise.
  9. Yeah, on the computer at work which only has IE it's doing the same thing. No issues on anything else, though, luckily I only have to deal with this computer on Saturdays. I try to avoid IE as much as possible. *edit* - I found the fix - take modelcarsmag.com OUT of Compatibility View.
  10. I think of the 5.0 in the Revell 32 Fords as a "crate motor". Also the SBC with Tremec in the Rat Roaster makes for a popular IRL crate motor/trans combo that can be accessorized as you like it with parts from other kits. I think this question is a bit more specific than "What's a cool motor?"
  11. It's something that's been drilled into me my entire customer service/retail career - people are more than twice as likely to complain as they are to praise.
  12. If you're making your own from regular kitchen foil, this stuff works the best, there's nothing around the house that works as good as this stuff.
  13. Revell still molds some things here in the US, they already have the capability and these products don't cost any higher than the others.
  14. One of their die-cast (American Graffitti) to plastic conversions. Slab sided, opening trunk (to show off the lowrider hydraulics in certain issues). Very good engine and chassis. Separate chrome trim on body.
  15. Also the new-tool 55 Chevies, 59 Impala, all the Monogram Pro Modeler stuff, the Dan Fink Speedwagon (even though the 3-window was branded Revell). Monogram and Revell merged in the mid-80's and the two brands have been used interchangeably and somewhat arbitrarily (seems to me) since. The "Car Show" line that the Del Rio is part of is branded Monogram regardless of provenance. I suspect the differing lines have something to do with how the big-box stores (or places where the buyers aren't knowledgeable about 1:1 cars) buy their kits, they just place orders for the series, like, give me 3 from the Car Show line, 3 from the Streetburner line, 3 from the Special Edition line, etc...
  16. Model Color is intended to be a brush paint, and for that use it is the finest in the world (IMO). It is thick like an artist's paint, it is meant to be thinned, some colors need more than others. It needs to be thinned a lot for airbrushing, as much as 1 part paint to 4 parts thinner, maybe even more than that, I don't airbrush it often and it has been a while since I have. They offer 2 ready mixed (but still a bit thick for me) airbrush lines, Model Air and Game Air.
  17. Moebius is an accepted alternate spelling of Möbius without the umlaut. A bit OT, but I've heard the story that Moebius was originally supposed to be called Altaira Models, after the character in Forbidden Planet because it is very similar to "Aurora" but it had already been trademarked (or some other reason) so they went with her last name, Morbius, but modified to the less morbid-sounding "Moebius". I can't remember if I heard that from someone at Moebius or from somewhere else so take from it what you will, I just thought it was interesting.
  18. He's not new, he's the technical guy. He handles how the site works.
  19. Great Planes/Tower doesn't show it disco, at least not anymore (I never saw that they did but I'm not on there that often. I don't do our buying) Looks like they just sold the first run out and are waiting for more - they do this on every new kit.

  21. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes... The dead rising from the grave! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria! Sure, it's no '59, but it is a ~30 year old Cadillac, same as the original when filmed. Just sayin...
  22. There's also the Revell Rat Roaster, but that only fits its own body, the other Revellogram deuces are proportioned differently.
