  1. Missed this the first time around. Looks great! Tamiya Wooden Deck Tan is the color I'm planning to use on my interior, nice to know it looks spot on!
  2. Sure. Crazy Glue is just a brand name for Cyanoacrylate (C/A) glue which is sold under many brand names like Super Glue, or hobby-market brands like Zap-a-Gap or Bob Smith Industries' Insta-Cure. Don't use on chrome or clear parts, the fumes it gives off while curing can cause a frosting effect (known as "chlorosis").
  3. Brabham vs. Bruce McLaren -
  4. RIP, Sir Jack, but I can't be sad when an F1 driver from that era passes away in his home at age 88.
  5. Very cool! My granddad used to have a dump truck that was exactly like that (except for the service v. dump body, of course), color, mirrors, wheels, everything.
  6. Looks like Pactra Trim Tape. It's peel-and-stick, though. Proabably wouldn't be too hard to cut strips of solid decal film to the sizes you need. You can use styrene or brass strips to make spacers so you can cut consistent stripes.
  7. That orange one is just pure 70's Street Machine fiberglass awesomeness! edit - That's the Corvette Summer car, amirite?
  8. If my grandfather was still alive and owned a Vette, it'd probably look something like the one in the OP. He loved stick on chrome tchotchkes.
  9. I love the 70's street machine/street freak look, I'm not gonna lie. They could do Cragars, Ansen Slot mags, Keystones, Centerlines, etc... You''d have a winner, the field is wide open, since the MRC and Arii wheel and tire sets are getting rare as hen's teeth these days. They always sold well, I'd love to see something similar back on the shelves.
  10. How about a business case for a new pad-printed Parts Pack tire?....
  11. The sound of my dad's '69 El Camino SS396. He's been gone 19 years now, the Elky was gone a few years before that, but I can still hear it in my mind...
  12. Oh yeah, that car's actually metallic green... Don't know if the kit is molded in color, though.
  13. The first green NASCAR kits that spring to mind would be these two.
  14. That what they use Facebook for nowadays. Direct contact links on company websites are spam magnets, trust me, I spent years keeping one clean. I love Facebook (and Twitter, too, although I don't use it much) for consumer contact - it's cheap (free), they do a great job by keeping my inbox spam free, and it's a great way to communicate with customers, and since every one can see your responses and interactions you don't have to keep typing the same response to the same question day after day. You can update Facebook in 2 minutes, I might spend all day working on a website or company blog update, not to mention lots of companies farm out their website and don't get involved with the day-to-day running of it. Here's Revell, Moebius, and Round 2's Facebook pages, in case anyone's interested - https://www.facebook.com/RevellUSA https://www.facebook.com/pages/Moebius-Models/152580141448964 https://www.facebook.com/Round2Models tl;dr version - direct customer feedback on your website sucks, social media is much better for that.
  15. Yeah, now we're starting to think like a model company. Instead of "I want a 1977 Ford LTD because my Grandmammy had one," you guys are starting to make a solid business case for Model A hot rods. Wouldn't be surprised to see some Model A's on the shelves soon. Stay tuned...
  16. Yep. They might be a little too big for the front of a Camaro, but they look good on larger cars. I mocked up a 70 Chevelle with L-60's all around and it looks like they'll work fine. They're definitely not steam rollers. The lettering on the back side doesn't have the size, so you can flip them if you're worried about folks seeing "L-60" on the fronts.
  17. Cool truck. Reminds me of the old Wood Brothers' paint scheme. Maybe they could use it as a shop truck?
  18. Checked a new one out today, it's still like this: (Photo from Faust (Adam)'s website.) New Decals are pretty cool, there's some dash details and a cool scanner decal. Has clear and tinted parts for the windows and T-tops.
  19. Argh! You stole my plan for mine with Cragars and pinners. Was thinking of light blue, too. It's nice to know it looks so good in reality, instead of just in my mind!
  20. And their 'gasser' isn't a gasser. 5 minutes on Google and they could have found better images for most of those.
  21. The old boxes were a different size (smaller) than newer boxes. Also check that the artwork wraps around inside the boxtop. Back then the artwork was printed on thin paper then pasted onto the cardboard box. Also old kits would have the price ($1.49 usually) printed directly printed on the box.
  22. I'd make a case for an all-new 62-65 Nova series. Trumpeter's was an overpriced, overengineered and didn't really sell enough pieces to hurt potential demand and AMT never made a modern full-detail kit. You'd be able to get possible sedans, hardtops, convertibles, wagons, SS models, V-8s, inline 6's, all manner of drag racing versions, there's a ton of potential there.
  23. Well, when they measure and research for a full-detail kit, they have to take the driveline out, so I doubt they could do that with a rental. I'd bet the farm we'll see the 2014 Corvette before too long, probably snap-kits and/or Showroom Replica promos before the end of the year or early 2015 followed by full-detail kits soon after.
  24. No idea what happened, but you can still view the page through the Internet Wayback Machine - http://web.archive.org/web/20110622053842/http://straightlinemodeler.org/
  25. Hi Vince, I didn't realize you were a member here or I would have given you a shout-out. Your Fotki page is great, I dig though it quite often!
