Actually was in the original Grand Slam kit. I remember sending a letter to C/S about wrong glass. Got correct glass in a few weeks. Funny it had same issue years later.

At Walmart (at least one store)

Tooling gets refinanced every time company trades hands. So not paid for really. Cars get sold and refi-ed all their lives. As do houses. Nevermind, not worth clarifying/argument. Like Dave I hate Walmart. I understand times for many are ugly. Pay what you can for what you want. It doesn’t make sense to drive many miles for chance to get something. With gas, insurance, and most importantly time, it isn’t worth it to me. I’d used to drive to wherever, find nothing, drive home. My time is limited, so I don’t waste it. Most my stuff will never be finished, and I don’t even have any grails anymore. So moot for me anyway. ?? -
@Mark https://studebaker-info.org/AVDB3/AVP/EX2932/ex2932.html Link has the 3 door car. Heres couple period 4d and a 4 headlight pic.

No problem with deals, just the people that scream with every new kit post apoplectic at prices. You don’t see that on SciFi or airplane boards much. We both pay full boat at times. Cost of getting want/need filled. I think the triple kit for $25 is a screwup, actually. We all know these will be seen at shows soon for full boat or close. As long as R2 makes money off them, great. Depreciated tooling products paying for new and revised stuff. Probably should have couched my cheapskates comment, but subtlety isn’t a strong suit. ??Who knew? -

One thing it does is get cheapskates in door of WM. Not that many are. Grocery stores often sell Turkey at loss on holidays so you buy everything else there. I’d guess kits are often impulse or present buys, and WM makes so much $ they don’t care. Don’t even lose any shelf space, easy to stock. -
Agree. 4 door Avanti needs dark center post. Better than lots of others. Convert needs build attempt. Looks nice, chrome bumpers would slay @Smoke Wagon You posted that while I was distracted replying. Great looking car. May be better with urethane. This is fun car. https://www.motortrend.com/features/one-step-beyond-studebaker-avanti/amp/

Exactly why I don’t have one. Thanks Mark.

JL did a diecast Stude and a 57 sedan delivery. Decent. Seemed a bit big but that should be around. 57sedel has correct rear bumper for RM DelRio btw.

Cool. Looks like you’re there. The dual side mount fenders not very common either roadster top and those early issues only. @Mark probably knows when they dropped those. Nice pile of parts.

I agree. Halibrands were factory option too.

The Maroon 32 Tudor with dual side mounts is likely early roadster fenders with Tudor body either from first non-stock double kit with Willys, or later issue of just Tudor. With age of rest of pile I’d guess early double kit. 32 Roadster up tops are not common either, so save them if any in pile.

Late Avanti 2’s can be ugly with urethane bumpers. They did converts and a four-door iirc. This convert I found just now is pretty nice though. https://www.orlandoclassiccars.net/vehicles/160/1989-avanti-convertible

Twin blower set up is actually R5 motor. Instructions sketchy on how it looks, but it’s cool. Granatelli bunch set Bonne speed records with it. I have NO idea why that pic is in link, but great thread. Useful Studey info

I need to get another display cabinet

And, they’re kits to hold your kits! ? -
Movie cars. Nobody cares, but link discusses real converts. At this point, of the 4-5 Hemi convertibles built, only 27 remain. ???

They had square bezels until the awful urethane bumper cars. Alice Cooper has nice resto mod Avanti. Was on Counting Cars

Nope. Not a Hemi Cuda cvt. 4 real Cuda convertibles cloned into Hemi lookalikes. https://www.motorious.com/articles/features-3/nash-bridges-plymouth-hemi-cuda/amp/

Did it say plus? Thought I saw that in other thread with Stevens list. That’d be great if they opened hood or at least tossed in some SS scoops. Love this thing. Thx as always Casey. -
Revive Imperial and tool Green Hornet body.

@mikemodeler Resell it asap if in it more than msrp. Lord knows others will. Just randomly guess at this point. 38 Packard from Chinatown? Duetto from Graduate?? ??♂️
