We have been getting PUMMELED here in Baltimore for the last week. 5 days ago, 32 inches. The last 24 hours have seen a foot come down with more on the way till this evening. So, I build right? yeah, problem is, all my current projects are in various stages of drying in my Mums basement. I can't get there, so waddyado? That's right! Break out a new kit. In this case, Tommy Ivo's FED. What a nice kit. Here we see the motor getting detailed. I scratchbuilt the barrel and distribution blocks and plumbed the primary and port injections. I also have the mag wired up. I'm currently getting all the main fuel feeds assembled as well as the brakes and shoulder harness. Snowy days... Mother Natures way of saying "Get to that bench and do some work". Bob

This is truly one of the most unique Drag cars I have ever seen and an outstanding replica. Shane, you are doing it TOTAL justice buddy. The look and the whole vibe is all right there. Weathering it a bit???? I remember you saying you were gonna and some "been run" grime. Cannot wait to see it finished. Bob

That's looking HOT! Decals look great. Your work is truly top notch. Keep at it... Bob

Outstanding for a "weekend" build I must say. All it needs is a Willy Borsche figure with one hand one the wheel and one on the sill, smoking the tires sideways all the way down the 1320. If there are any who have never seen a Winged Express run I would turn your attention to YouTube and do a search. You'll see the MOST entertaining run down the 1/4 mile that ever was. VERY nice build. Willy R.I.P Bob

Super nice Duo! Classy color scheme as well. Well executed. Bob -
congratulations Saints!

I am stoked for the Saints. After all that state has gone through and how this countrie's Government wasn't there for them. Drew Brees played a helluva game. The first half didn't start out so hot and i thought the Colts would strike more. But they came back in the second half and played like the Champs they are. All that and I'm a Patriots fan so I am a Colts hater. That, and I live in Baltimore so I adopted the Ravens as my second team. Talk about hatred from Ravens fans about the Colts? WOW! Congrats SAINTS! WHO DAT!!! Bob -
I'll be there. I'll bring a car or two. C-Ya then Bob

Looks fantastic Bob. Enamels get a bad rap. I work with them with great results. I do love laquers though. Sweet machine. Bob

Superb, I'll echo others and say I'd also like to have that on my shelf. Well done indeed. Bob

I finally dug this out last week as my Reher Morrison car was drying to try and finish it quickly. I should know better than that. Still got a few more items like mirrors and the bumper but it's largely done. The interior is not the greatest in this kit but it turns into a repsectable shelf model when finished. Still thinking about adding some width to the front end. Looks kinda narrow to me. I widended the rear and now it looks a tad strange. No worries there though. Easy fix I have some Go Mango in a jar to hit between the front bumpers. It looks odd with it chrome I think. Bob

I was unaware these could come out this nice... Hmmmm, memo to self, pick up Depth Charger. Don't build it, but show pix of this one and say yours could be this nice if you tried. Good on ya for tackling this one. It's a winner. Bob

Aaaah, 80's Monogram decals. I know them only too well my friend. Looks to me like you conquered the beast. It's a beaut! Be proud. I bought the entire collection off a guy last week, so i will be in this arena soon. Wish me luck and I hope I fare as well as you did. Well built. Bob

Being a HUGE Garlits fan, this one gets me where I live. Marvelous John. Bob

This is a totally kick butt build John. Color, execution....... Bravo. Bob

This is a beautiful build. I love these cars and need to put aside my drag cars long enough to build one. I hope to do it justice like you have. NICE Bob
-
Inventive build and it's very nice. I may get one of the new ones myself seeing as I'm a big NHRA fan. Bob

Beautiful build Curt. The fade is gorgeous. Trans Am cars are some of the sexiest out there, and they turn right as well as left so that seals the deal. It looks like the trans-kit was a cinch as well. I love it when a plan comes together. Bob

I'd be pretty stoked to have done that! Wowzers! Bob

I'd tour in that any time. I'm a sucker for a great Boss. Bob

That's got to be the answer Shane, sage advise that. I'll have another go with the Tamiya I think. This paint job is in the books so I'll let it be. Let me get back to my chassis for now and I'll think on all that's been offered here. You guys are the goods. Bob

I was looking at those at K-Mart not that long ago. I bouught the Dutch Boy Acrylic and it went on OK at first. On the second coat it attacked itself and destroyed the paint on my 66 Chevelle. Please let me know how those Krylon cans work. There is a solution out there. Bob

I hit it with a wet coat kinda right from the start Roger. The 1814 is very forgiving. Dave is right about Tamiya clear. I did both the Sanke N Mongoose FE dragsters with it and the mist coats were good. Then, when I hit it with the wet coats they started to be attacked by the clear. I no longer trust it. I said before that if i had my way [and an airbrush], I'd shoot Tamiya Acrylic Clear over everything. I've seen the results, and they NEVER yellow and you can really lay it on without concerns. Dave, the Bud King Tempo I did years ago was kept in a glass case at my Dads in his trophy room. The case is not in direct sunlight, but over time the clear over the white portion just ended up yellowing anyway. I have a friend who has a wood flooring co. He uses anything he wants to over stained or natural oak. But if he has to pickle a floor [white paint rubbed into the pores then wiped away for a very nice look]. he always uses a water based clear clear so it won't yellow. He has some applications that were done over 10 years ago and they have not yellowed at all. For my money, to get a non yellowing clear coat, water/aqueous/alcohol based clear coats will be the answer. I just can't shoot one without an airbrush, and no one makes one in a spray can that I know of. I know this will yellow over time. I'll take many pictures and say "This is what it looked like when it was white" LOL Bob

My bad on the Alclad II. I have some Tamiya clear. I'll try it over white next time. Use the 1814 over colors. Thanks Bob
