Anyone know a Bill Stillwagon?
Dragline replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bill is a MAMA member. One heck of a builder and all around nice guy. -
Sad day indeed. He's not just a Canadian hero, he is much beloved here in the states. Great band. While I'm a notorious Metal Head I do like to change it up and TH is often in the rotation.

I shall my brother. I shall.... Thanks

Case in Point...... -
Wow, is this thing going off! I got your kit in the mail to you brother Dan. I didn't get as diabolical as I would have but I think you are going to be pleased. Built well? You are too kind my friend. My Mums had a stroke last Tuesday. She is making great strides and is doing well so I think I can get back to the Countach as well as this Swap N Build. The time constraints should not be a problem since I had a clean slate except the Countach. That is getting ready for the paint booth and the interior is done. But when it first happened I was manic of course so everything but showers and clean clothes were the only other things I could even consider for myself. Cannot wait to see what you sent Dan. I think we may be the only two who didn't bother to ask what the other liked and just sent what we wished to see the other build. In that spirit I hope you find what I sent a fun challenge.

Chrome has its place. It's either tasteful or overdone. -
Fujimi Enthusiast Series Lamborghini Countach

Just a quick update. Yesterday my Mother had a mild stroke. Between losing my father July 22 and now this I have had very little interest in building. BUT, I carried on with some enthusiasm with the Countach. At this moment in time I have no desire to sit at the bench although it might be therapeutic in some fashion. She is doing OK and at Rhode Island Hospital and I just came home from there. My brother and sister in law have been there all day and my Mums is making strides. She is not out of the woods yet but the prognosis is quite good. I am actually on vacation starting Saturday so I might get in a little bench time as sort of a cathartic zen like therapy for myself. But then again I may just walk by my hobby room without so much as a glance. I am at the stage in life where it seems to be taking more than giving. We all must lose our parents as it is a part of life. But I truly wish 2017 would come to a close and Mums get better. I don't always get what I want though and all of us here can attest to that in our own lives. So the Countach is on hold until I feel the bug bite me as I wait and hope Mums recovery goes well and she is given back to me whole and functioning. Until then I want to thank all you all in advance for the kind words I know are coming. Thanks one and all Bob Frias -
This has got to be the cutest darned thing I have ever seen in my life. 7.99 at Hobby Lobby with a 40% off made it 5 and change. Three trees, rubber tracks and decals. I took a content shot but my software decided to make it disappear. There are more in the series so I'll be on the lookout. Talk about a slump buster! Looks like it ends up about 4"X 5" or so and cute as all get out.

Sorry for the delay boys. I've been catching up on house duties. Sanded the body and panels smooth tonight. Another night to finish the interior and its show and tell up to that point. If it ever DRIES up around here I'll shoot the white onto the body. It's been WET. Thanks all. -

All American 2000 Iron for me. My Cavalier SS is fun, I can work on it and I have no payments. The last year has seen nearly everything go bad all at once. BUT, it was as bought except for a few mods I made some years ago. The alternator, starter, PS pump, front calipers and hoses, a rear drum rebuild. I overheated it 2 years ago so it has a hotter cylinder head now. Got 6 years out of a NAPA battery but just had to change it. Put four tires on my aftermarket rims. it's got a few dings which I will remove this coming spring and spray it silver again minus the goofy but tasteful graphic it has. the plan down the road is a 380Hp supercharged Ecotec with a manual. Cobalt rear calipers and a handling package. Then I'll just cruise the Benz full time and take it out on weekends. Try that with anything newer than say around "10". Nothing NEW for me thank you. Cripes, even my bike is an 85, and that's the newest bike chassis I've ever owned. -
OK, I'm up to speed. Dan, you will have incoming soon. My diabolicalness will be in play.

NOW I REMEMBER!!!!! Good luck with that Dan.. What do I need to do? Post up a partial built so another can finish it right? Oh Goodie!!

A Tip For Ebay Buying
Dragline replied to Dodge Driver's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I buy vintage comics almost daily on eBay. I've learned a few things and yours is very sound advice. If I'm hot for an issue, or anything for that matter i do lots of research FIRST. I've gotten bargains a plenty as a result. I'll wade through completed auctions as well to get a sense of the going value. With the amounts I sometimes spend and the vintage books I'm looking for it pays to sit down for at least an hour or two. If I miss a deal here or there it's not as big a deal as overpaying. I do the same with models. I've been wanting the Monogram 66 Chevelle Street Rat. The red one with the blown big block and straight axle on the box. They appear often but are too high for my liking. I've missed a few good deals but eventually I'll find an unbuilt in the 20.00 range. My patience is my ally. -
CA Glue Brand Preference

Whatever is on sale for this guy. I learned a while back to buy the smallest bottles possible or it will dry up long before I use it all. -

My phone shows text that says "Scam Likely" as it rings. A VERY nice feature indeed. -
I love it. My brother Rick is the range master at the Warren Rod and Gun club in RI. I take it there at least once a month. I've been taking the .357 as well. I've had no issues with the Taurus but I've heard of a few. Breach problems? Slide problems? At first mine seemed a bit snug but with careful cleaning and lube it's been a great sidearm, I probably should have purchased the Glock, but the price was right on the Taurus.

Well done. That's a finicky kit.

That is seriously gorgeous. I may steal that color for mine.

I too have an S&W 686 J frame. I load it with .38 most of the time. I also have a Taurus 9mm and two Remington 12 gauges. If some ner-do-well comes in under their own power they are leaving under someone elses. We don't take kindly to intruders here at casa Frias.
