Yeah, I remember seeing an old time locomotive in an older AMT catalog, maybe they can reissue it with a Coke livery. -
Round 2 December 2019 Product Spotlight

MCW makes a '70 Impala Sport Coupe, which appears a bit off compared to this photo as far as the side window shape. I wonder if the roof from the AMT '70 Wildcat would be a good starting point for the C-pillars and back window. -
7 Muscle Cars I Hope Will Be Kitted Soon
Rob Hall replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I guess their wasn’t enough space under the hood. The earlier 427 ones had that hood w the earlier front end, as did the 454 ones. -

Yeah, not that many different parts from the SS coupe..body, hood, rear glass, interior side panels, rear package shelf, wheels, bumpers. grille, taillight panel.

I can't recall, did the annual have those? I have the AMT '67 ht and convertible annuals, but not handy so I can check them...

Yeah, I've only pulled out the body and instruction booklet on mine. I like how they packaged the decals inside the instructions.

I have an AMT box for a GT40 (with nothing inside) from the late 60s. AMT-232. I believe it was a rebox of the IMC tool. Kinda looks like the Ken Miles '66 Daytona winner on the box art. I also have 1/2 dozen of so variations of the Fujimi kit incl. one of the Revell reboxes, a Testors rebox of the IMC from the '70s, a built IMC, and a couple of the MPC Mark IVs--the '60s original and the early 80s reissue.

Rob Hall replied to Bugatti Fan's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Great timing, mine came in the mail today. There are several threads on it in the Truck section, incl. and -
Ah, the Lindberg Granada. That was one of the first snap kits I built as a kid 43+ years ago.

Not recently...that issue is from 2003...

I'm a fan of trucks but...
Rob Hall replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
First thing I thought of when I saw the Cybertruck were angular concept cars like the Citroen Karin and Aston Martin Bulldog...and vehicles from Blade Runner...it's definitely got a 70s-80s futuristic concept look about it. As for EVs, I'm looking forward to the Rivian and Mustang Mach E...I could see myself in a Mach E. -
Farrah's Foxy Vette and the Travolta Fever Firebird come to mind. Tied to the actor, not a particular role or movie.

Ford vs. Ferrari Film
Rob Hall replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Saw it this afternoon, very entertaining...great visually and an all-in-all enjoyable film. Came out of the theatre and there was a red '05-06 Ford GT parked out by itself at the edge of the parking lot. Rare to see one on the street, esp. in November in Cleveland.. -

It's both from the future and inspired by 70s-80s concept cars. It reminds me of things I drew at age 10 in 1980...Musk and I share the same birthday, he must have been inspired by the same concepts. Looks like could be in Knight Rider or Robocop. -
Anyone Getting Ready For Winter?
Rob Hall replied to OldTrucker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The problem I've had the 3 Autumns I've been here is the house to my north is unoccupied--it was in a trust, the owners passed about a decade ago, and their son drops by once in a while (it sold back in the summer and is now getting remodeled)...so no one picks up the leaves. Though most of the leaves in their driveway and front yard come from my tree (huge oak in my front yard a couple feet from the property line). -

That happened to me the last couple years after the last leaf pickup. The city leaf vacuum truck came down my street about a 1/2 hr ago, so the huge pile out front is gone. But there are still many leaves in the oaks in front and in back, so there is still work to be done. -
Sweet garage.

Anyone Getting Ready For Winter?

I like Oregon..I need to get out there and see an old coworker buddy of mine that lives in Beaverton (we worked together in the 00s when we both lived in Denver). I love the coast, places like Cannon Beach, Seaside, Astoria, and driving up the Columbia River Gorge... -

My leaf pile on the tree lawn gets bigger and bigger. I've seen signs they are picking up leaves this week, but I saw the city vacuum truck go down my street yesterday and they didn't stop... -
