  1. That California Sunshine pickup would be really neat, never had that one. Got the Brat today, looks like a neat kit. Expanded decals w/ gauge faces, has the 'Retro Deluxe' info decal on the box directly instead of the wrap as they usually do, odd. One small chrome tree w/ chromed headlights and taillights, wheels molded in white. Tires don't have any white lettering.
  2. Pinto looks good. Simple kit, not a lot of parts, separate hatchback, only options are a CB radio and antenna.
  3. I should have my reissue Brat tomorrow...got my '77 Pinto last week..
  4. I have had a couple of cars in the past w/ gray interiors, (one light gray and one dark charcoal) but no more. I like light interior colors. My current Jeep is two-tone black and cream inside (seats, headliner, pillars, lower dash, console and door panels a light cream color) with a sunroof...I esp. like the lighter colors living in a climate w/ a lot of cloudy days. Having once had a car w/ a black leather interior in sunny Arizona wasn't such a good idea. I don't really care for the gray kitchens in homes either, but that seems to no longer be the trendy remodeling color--matte black is taking it's place. I have cherry wood in my kitchen, and wood throughout the house, like the natural color.
  5. Took a drive yesterday out into an area I hadn't been before (Norwalk and Milan, Ohio), saw a variety of interesting older cars..several 30s Model A hot rods rolling along (must have been a car show they were coming from/going to) , a sharp modded dark blue '68-72 Nova w/ an outlaw style hood, a pair of early 60s Studebaker 4drs in front of an old, closed gas station, a clean blue '64 Olds Cutlass 2dr ht, and a sharp white '73 Mustang convertible. Visited the Thomas Edison childhood home and museum in Milan, Ohio...neat little town w/ several museums. Then went up to Marblehead Lighthouse (been there several times) and out to East Harbor State Park and Beach in Marblehead--very windy and blustery on Lake Erie yesterday, but sunny. Saw a clean white '66 Impala 2dr ht near the beach.
  6. Oh well. Something to look forward to. There will likely be countless reissues of other kits before it shows up, so plenty to keep people busy..
  7. Nice...I was at my Jeep dealer for service this week, didn't see any Gladiators in stock...lots of Wranglers though.
  8. I have some similar bags like that from my local grocery chain, my county is banning plastic grocery bags, so I'll be using them more.
  9. Very cool car in the pro touring style. Love the front end and color. I like the subtle interior mods also.
  10. No, the 240/300 six was used in the trucks and full size cars, as was stated in the post you quoted. The Comet, Falcon, Mustang, Fairlane, etc used the smaller six.
  11. How about the suspension, though..that was the big problem w/ the first issues.
  12. I wonder if the Petty version of the Olds has any of the improvements.
  13. Got the AMT '77 Pinto in the mail today. Neat little kit, not much in the box, only builds stock. there is an extra wheel cover on the chrome tree, appears to be left from a a previous year (looks like the one on the 75 box art).
  14. Never measured them. They seem 1/24th ish.
  15. Looking forward to the Brat and the Pinto (have one of those on order now, should have it this week).
  16. The post in the thread over in the truck forum had their estimated price around $75-80 IIRC.
  17. Well, they compete in diecast against Round 2's diecast brands like Auto World, Racing Champions, Johnny Lightning. I like their 1/64th and 1/43rd lines mostly...I have a few of their 1/24ths (the Blues Brothers Monaco and Chicago Police Car, Supernatural Impala) and they have some shortcomings. But for cheaper diecast, they aren't bad. Not Danbury Mint or Franklin Mint quality, but not those price points either.
  18. The diecast is a 1/24th from Greenlight. Greenlight is a competitor of Round 2/Auto World. Not going to happen.
  19. Saw a sharp '71 Impala sport coupe in traffic this afternoon.
  20. Note that the 2dr hardtop wasn't added to the range until 1951, as the Victoria.
  21. That sounds right from what I remember...AMT was still owned by Matchbox in the early 80s when they released the '67 Camaro and '70 Challenger new tools...(I have a '70 Challenger convertible kit with AMT and Matchbox logos, another with AMT and ERTL logos). ESCI is interesting, I recall a few kits were reissued under the AMT brand, but some have been reissued under the Italeri brand...not sure what happened with them... did Italeri acquire all the tooling and AMT got some from them? (since those AMT-branded ESCI kits have never been reissued as AMT kits).
  22. It would stand to reason that 1976 might have been when it was first released, but it then stayed in production for several years. I'm not sure when the original ERTL kits stopped being marketed under the ERTL name--sometime in the 80s around the time ERTL acquired the AMT brand? I have vague memories of seeing a shelf of ERTL kits including the Transtar II, Scouts, and farm equipment at the Quality Farm & Fleet store in Dover, Ohio, as a kid, ---must have been in the 78-81 time frame, when I was just getting into glue kits.
  23. They probably didn't wreck any actual cars, probably CGI or repros..
  24. The 69-70 4dr ht roofline looks more upright and squared off than the ‘67-68.
  25. To do it right, they would need a new body, glass, interior door panels, seats, grille, tail light panel, wheels, tires plus the spotlights.
