Revell 30 Model A Ford Production Halted?
Rob Hall replied to Daddyfink's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
As I go through the boxes I moved from the Pod to my garage over the weekend, checking box inventory numbers against my spreadsheets, I've found my two 29 roadster kits, haven't found the 30 coupe yet, but it's out there somewhere... -
Revell 30 Model A Ford Production Halted?
Rob Hall replied to Daddyfink's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
As mentioned in a couple posts back, those auctions ended a couple days ago for $68 and $53... One of the more amusing Japanese deals on there now is the one for $354.xx buy it now, with free shipping! -
Looking forward to it.. they are cheesy fun popcorn movies, not Oscar material by any stretch, but entertaining eye candy..interesting cars, interesting idea material for models. I still think they should have made one movie called 'Faster and Furiouser' and call the very last one 'Most Fast and Most Furious'.

Round 2 AMT 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS "Fifty" Edition
Rob Hall replied to Againmikewins's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Looking forward to getting both of these...I hope AMT does the '18 ZL1 1LE eventually, it's pretty wild looking w/ the huge rear wing. -
IIRC the 49 with that box art reissued early in the Round 2 days, maybe 2008-2009...
-
I'm going to restore it eventually. It's a builtup in decent shape.

Got my first shipping Pod (16ft) delivered from my Arizona house to my Ohio house. It has a lot of misc home supplies, clothes, etc and about 1000 model cars--new and old--that I bought over the last 9 years in AZ.....opened one model box to check the contents, appears fine.

Oreilly's Part # 121g
Rob Hall replied to Miatatom's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That is funny..I used to work for the company that built O'Reilly's web site and internal systems, will have to ask them if they know about this... -
checking my cameras on my house back in the Cleveland area I see some of the white stuff tonight...flying back from Phoenix on Wed for a couple weeks...

I'm originally from NE Ohio, kind of going back to my roots after 20 years in the West (Colorado then Arizona). I miss having 4 distinct seasons and the greenery. I also have some property in Ohio and some vintage cars I inherited there that I want to enjoy. And the house I bought there is over twice as large as my Phoenix house, so more room for hobbies. Looking at buying a vacation condo in S Florida eventually after selling the Phoenix house.

In the process of packing up for a 2000 mile move from Phoenix to the Cleveland area now...will have a real room for building models--a spare bedroom that is 14x14 and a rec room in the basement I plan to make my 'man cave' for storing and displaying models and die cast. Really looking forward to having more space...

Actually, AMT made full size Mercury kits from '59-66. Back from 1959-1966. The '64 and '66 have been reissued in modern times (the '64 in particular has been reissued at least 3 times since the mid 90s), but they have nothing to do with the modern '60 Starliner kit..

'freshening' is how I would describe it. I've bought a few hundred builtups that need just a bit of freshening...
-
I did also yesterday, 2 engines and some Cutlass parts. Good stuff.

35 Yr. Old Monogram 69 Camaro SS-Now "Under Glass"-07/20
Rob Hall replied to mustang1989's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Funny thing is, I built one of the Monogram 1/32nd '69 Camaros when I was about 8-9, it has the same proportions as the 1/24th... -
35 Yr. Old Monogram 69 Camaro SS-Now "Under Glass"-07/20
Rob Hall replied to mustang1989's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I've never had one of those kits, the proportions always looked wrong to me...too thick through the doors and quarters. I remember building the MPC '69s in the 80s, those weren't bad.. -

That one could make a nice retro reissue with box art similar to the original issue '55 Nomad.

Yes, 193 hits on AMT '55 Chevy, 83 on Revell...plenty of them out there...
