Modelhaus Shasta Trailer- anyone build it?
Rob Hall replied to mikemodeler's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
It looks like a neat kit from what I've seen.. I think I'll get one with a Modelhaus '57 Plymouth wagon or '59 Ford wagon to tow it. -
MODELHAUS PRODUCTS PICS
Rob Hall replied to Tom Kren's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Did they have anything new at the NNL? They usually seem to release a few new things at or around the time of the show. Edit: it looks like they do have one new item as of Oct 7th--'57 Lincoln Premiere ht. -
I think that is some sort of ram air hood that was used on the drag cars, and people have added them to street cars over the years....kind of the Mercury equivalent of the Mopar Super Stock hood scoops of that era, or the Ford teardrop scoop hood that was used on the Fairlane Thunderbolt drag cars. The poster Moeibus showed had a stock Cyclone hood.

They always come by when I'm not home or don't ring the bell, that's why I always try and have Fed Ex shipments deliver to the local Fed Ex store.

When will Revell show us what they got?
Rob Hall replied to 7000in5th's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Definitely would love to see the new Corvette kitted, coupe and convertible. Along w/ the new Viper and many others... alas, Revell and Round 2 seem to have a narrow focus on vintage subjects only these days. -
Sharp build..love those Johan Caddies.
-
I see what you mean...the box art illustrations seem to show the headers pointed sideways and downwards...
-
Lots of potential for stock and racing variations....both are currently available in resin, but it will be very nice to have full detail kits of them. Still would love to see a '68/69 Cyclone.

The Revell '79 was the only 1/25th scale kit that I know of...the later bubble hatch has never been kitted.

Looking forward to this one...some Telefunken graphics would be cool.. -
Got an appointment today at the Apple Store at Biltmore... it's covered under Apple Care.

So MCM didn't send a representative there to get the scoop? Would have thought the magazines would have a presence there.

Saw it last weekend...really enjoyed it... -
Welcome to the forums....I'm a former Colorado resident, lived previously in Colorado Springs then Denver. I hear it's snowing today on the Front Range...

I dropped my iPhone on the tile kitchen floor this morning...shattered the screen. Arrrgggh

Fascinating about the '69 Fury...never heard that rumor. It's too bad a Fury of that era was never kittted..there have been a few small scale diecast '69s, I'd love to see a '70/71 Sport Fury GT kitted...or a '69 4dr sedan or '69 or '70 convertible.

That is sweet...love the wheels. Like the matte black w/ stripes as well..

Sports cars are what the company was built on...it's rich history is all about sports cars and success in sports car racing. When Porsche was still independent, it added the Cayenne (with some platform sharing w/ VW) as a profit center (cynically cashing in on the overheated SUV/CUV market boom of the last decade). Now that Porsche is fully part of the VW family, it really doesn't need the Cayenne or the Panamera, as those overlap with Audi models. But they are adding yet another SUV soon. Consider Ferrari--they make sports and GT cars only, they don't do SUVs or luxury sedans. Jeep doesn't make sports cars or sedans. Porsche should be the same way, IMO...maintain the brand vision and focus.

Depends..I've only bought new kits from Model Roundup, for vintage kits, I go to eBay first... -
1974 Econoline
Rob Hall replied to Repstock's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looking good...I'm definitely interested in one. The taillights of that generation of van look very similar to the F-series pickups of the same era. -
The Unappreciated Ford Mustang
Rob Hall replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Never cared for the Mustang II with it's Pinto origins....one chapter in the Mustang history best forgotten, IMO. The ugly, humpy faux-retro styling didn't help either. The crisp, modern styling of the Fox era cars was much better, IMO..they didn't try to be retro. -
Sounds fun..wish I was there. Sadly, it looks like the new United Sports Car Racing Series doesn't have Lime Rock or Mid-Ohio on the schedule next year. I'll probably go to Long Beach next year (same weekend as the Long Beach Indy Car race I go to) and Laguna Seca. I wouldn't mind going to Watkins Glen since it's my birthday weekend next year. http://unitedsportscar.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/IMSA_TUDOR_2014-Schedule.pdf

Neat...speaking of Cars, I saw some small scale models of them on the pegs at my LHS the other day...didn't notice the brand, they looked to be snap kits in maybe 1:43rd or smaller scale...
