That was at a car show in 1968, but the car may have been built in 1960? Seems so dated for 1968 (though I wasn’t around then)

Back to the original topic, regarding Round 2's retro box art---it's obviously working for them, considering how they keep reissuing the same kits w/ new 'retro box art'...like the '58 Chevy--it's had at least two different retro box art reissues..same w/ the '62 Corvette and others. I'm not a marketing person, but it seems to me whatever they are doing works.

One of the resin casters was making '67-69 grilles a few years ago, incl. Ranger grilles w/ the center badge. Have a few of them, pretty nice. Alas, I think they are no longer in business or making them (Rookie Resin?)

Flash on model parts can be quite tedious to remove and clean up, especially on chromed parts.

Post or not to post, that is the question.

It looks good to me going by those photos..much improved over the old AMT and MPC tools, esp. under the hood and the chassis. Since Revell likes doing at least 2 versions of new tools, I assume it will lead to a 429CJ Mach 1 down the road. I'd love to see a convertible, but that will probably come from the resin casting or 3D printing community.

Almost 90 today...A/C is nice and cold. Think I may got to the beach this evening for a couple hours..

Re Lake Mead: I do wonder if the continued population boom in Arizona (and Nevada) is sustainable, with the dwindling Colorado river water supply.

Candy Brandywine...

I like dark greens (like Bullitt edition Mustangs or old British racing green), silver greens (like the '60s Mercury Lime Frost my Dad's '67 Cougar was), the silver green that was available on the 2005 Mustang, and the metallic olive greens like F8 green on the late model Chargers, Challengers, Durangos and Nori Green Pearl that Lexus has. I don't like Kermit the Frog green or neon greens. As far as current paint trends, I really can't get into the battleship gray shades that are becoming widespread..not as boring as white or silver, but pretty boring IMO.. -
Tools are very important--having the right tools--if you want to work on your transport pod at home.

That hangup about 1/24th never made sense to me...lots of great stuff in both scales.

I've heard a bit about sciatica from my sister who has it. I have occasional hip, knee and joint pain...trying to get a lot of walks around the neighborhood w/ the dogs in morning and evening. The last 5 years I've owned a house w/ stairs, which I didn't have to deal with much the previous 25 years... with my back, I find I get a stabbing pain between the shoulder blades after driving a couple of hours...right where the upper bolster in my Jeep seats hit my back. The seats in my '14 Jeep are definitely not as comfortable as the seats were in my '00 Jeep were...firmer, narrower, harder bolsters...I've tried adjusting the height, back angle, lumbar support, etc but it still is uncomfortable on longer drives...

Today was payday which is fine..but after two 1/2 months, my employer still hasn't got the tax withholding correct. I've been at this job since Feb '21, but the local, Ohio-based company I joined in 2021 got acquired by a larger company based in Texas in April. They don't seem to get that Ohio has something called 'RITA' taxes for municipalities that don't have their own taxes. The Texas-based parent company is doing the Federal and State withholding, but not the RITA withholding...myself and others have complained to HR who blames their 3rd party payroll company. Arrggghhh...it will be a pain next year at tax time...

True that. I’m old enough to remember ordering models and other things from print catalogs using a letter in an envelope with a stamp! And a few weeks later, a package would arrive without notice. We’ve come a long way, nowadays I can order things from my phone, and get tracking emails and updates and see on a map where the package is and see on my cameras it getting dropped off at my door…most of the time, things work pretty smoothly.

My Dad has Alzheimer's, and he's forgotten where I live.
Rob Hall replied to stavanzer's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I can relate, my mother passed in 2016 w/ dementia at age 85, my older brother passed earlier this year at age 72 w/ schizophrenia and dementia. I understand that various mental illnesses run in my mother's family. When my mother passed, I was living 2100 miles away and estranged--we barely spoke the last 5 years of her life, she pushed away my sister and I and wouldn't take any help or advice from us.. -
What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Took a quick weekend road trip to Syracuse, NY and saw a couple new Ford Mavericks on I-90 yesterday, first I’ve seen in the wild. A black one and a blue-gray one. Sharp little truck. Saw a couple Broncos also. Also saw a sharp early 90s Mustang LX 5.0 convertible, top down. White w/ a black interior. Saw a couple Hellcat wide body Chargers--one black and one purple. Saw a very clean '68 Coupe de Ville in dark green.
