  1. Got my MPC 'USA-1' '74 Vega Pro Stock kit reissue today...haven't had a chance yet to compare it with the earlier Grumpy's Vega '72 release.
  2. Yes. https://fireballmodels.info Wheels are $6 for a set of 4.
  3. Yes. It’s hard to see the difference, but the tire on the bottom is weighted and the left side is slightly flattened.
  4. My sister’s first car was a ‘76 Pinto Runabout. Got it new for HS graduation, she drove it 4 years through college and added an FM converter and 8 track. She got married and drove it to Arizona towing a U haul trailer in 1980. It got hit twice in parking lots on the way there, got to AZ w/ the grille knocked out, hood mashed in, passenger's door bashed in. Traded it for a brown '78 Datsun 280Z.
  5. The weighted ones look like they are on a vehicle and are slightly flattened where the tread would touch the ground, to give the impression of the tire being compressed by the weight of a vehicle. I have sets of both (FMR-170-regular and FMR-171-weighted) and it is a subtle difference.
  6. I watched 'Fatman' the other evening, very unusual Christmas tale w/ Mel Gibson. I liked both 'Bad Santa' movies, watched them last year. I may watch 'Die Hard' again, one of my all time favorite Christmas season films. I've seen 'National Lampoons Christmas Vacation' probably 20 times, may rewatch... I need to watch 'A Christmas Story' again, been about a decade. I did visit the house used in it a couple years ago, it's about 6 miles north of me.
  7. Sharp build...my older brother's then-wife had a 4dr '75 Gran Torino, pretty much this same color combo back in 1980-1...
  8. I’ve read that some police departments key their vehicles identically so the keys are interchangeable across the fleet. About 20 years ago I had an odd experience with my Jeep, walking towards it in a parking lot clicked the fob to unlock it from a distance and a Chrysler Sebring convertible that was closer unlocked and it’s lights flashed. Clicked the fob again and it locked and flashed.
  9. I remember some of my Dad’s older cars were like that. And some the keys would interchange. Like the ignition keys would interchange between a ‘67 Cougar and ‘69 Mustang, but not the door keys.
  10. I've left my Jeep running and locked when I go in the drug store on cold days so the interior stays warm...or remote started it while in a store so it's warm when I come out.
  11. Maybe it's a car that once it's warmed up and then shut off is very hard to start again...
  12. Probably more like 65+... I'm 51, and Ed Roth stuff was before my time...
  13. Chrysler Newport or New Yorker, '66 I think...these had both this neat 6 window sedan and a 4 window sedan variant.
  14. I kind of want to kitbash one of these with a Moebius ‘67-72 to do a phantom.
  15. Ya, lots of good stuff on IG...I follow a bunch of 1:1 car related pages, and other interests (music, small terriers, Ohio state parks, Cleveland area pages).. I'm 'robertwadehall1970' on IG...I don't post much, though.
  16. Got mine today from Spotlight Hobbies...looks good.
  17. Got the new ‘63 Chevy II wagon with engine and trailer issue in the mail today from Spotlight Hobbies. Looks good at first glance.
  18. I think as far as 2022 they have only announced 1st quarter releases, not even sure if that's official yet, since they usually do it around New Year's Eve...
  19. It was in the IPMS Vegas thread... 1st page, a few posts down..
  20. Those look sharp. Never built the Monogram 308. I built the Revell 308 (and Maserati Bora) as a kid, was molded in black.
  21. I have a few of the reissues of 911 versions, Dinos and Ferraris in my stash, never had any of the 356s.
  22. My next door neighbor has no tree in his front yard, but one side of his yard adjoins mine and I have a huge oak..big enough to reach over my driveway and his...and it's similar with is neighbor on his other side...so he gets a lot of my leaves and the other neighbor's leaves...and the acorns..so many acorns accumulate on the edges of the driveways..was out w/ my leaf blower/vacuum/mulcher this weekend attacking the leaves, but too much of that and the vibration killed me...also got my covid booster shot this weekend, no ill effects from that, but sore all over from a little yard work...
  23. Interesting, though it's Brian's truck, Dom/Vin is on the box art...guess they couldn't license Paul Walker's likeness from his estate.
  24. That's apparently where the badging was for '64. Googling turns up images of 1:1s like that. '62-63 had the badging on the rear quarters, as did '65.
  25. The box art was bad on a lot of AMT kits in that era (2004)...like they put in the bare minimum of effort.
