  1. The 29 turned out great. I may have missed it, but did anyone ID the kit source for these wheels? Once you got them detailed at the end they looked awesome.
  2. Well, it appears the Hot Curl is truly lost to the ages. Because if they had it surely they would have put it back in this issue? Depending on what they do decal and tire wise I might buy one. But I already have several, so they will really have to make it worth it. Maybe wood decals for the inserts? Box art is very nice though
  3. I read elsewhere here that Pegasus (who owns Moebius) is in the process of relocating to a bigger location in Cali. So between the supposed licensing issues they had first, then COVID, and now a move that could be cause for the delay. Also remember, these display models are #D printed renderings. When they were shown not a single bit of tooling had been cut yet. So i think we can still keep our fingers crossed.
  4. If you would like to trade this intake for the one from the 63 vette with webers setup send me a pm. I like building survivor type cars and this intake, since it appears to be a flight of fancy, would look great on a mid-late 60 show rod or custom. Even if you don't want the 63 intake, but would be willing to part with the one you have let me know and maybe we can work something out.
  5. So, I'm getting mixed impressions here? Some say the stuff is very good, others say no. And the images pulled from auctions do not make the parts look good. is it simply a matter of the pics needing to be updated to reflect better/current standards and the seller just hasn't done that? or are those pics representative of current output? I'm talking about gaps, holes layering and such. Base on the images of the unpainted items Tom posted above, it sure looks like the seller just needs to update his images to better reflect current quality output This is a prime example of one of the reason Replicas and Miniatures doesn't have a website. Norm and his wife would rather spend time filling orders and working on product rather than maintaining a website.
  6. Great, another kit series to be on the hunt for. When i've seen these kits in the past I didn't pay much attention to them because they don't fit in my typical area of interest. But after seeing that wild exhaust treatment, the overall good looking amount of detail, coupled with the aggressive stance and body mods I now will have to keep my eyes out for one. The price will probably keep me out (except the GTO or Monte) but if I had my choice I'd really like to have the Camaro out of all of them.
  7. Just curious, what "price guide" are you using? I didn't realize those were still a thing. Not being sarcastic, just didn't know. If you're using eBay as your primary buying source I would look at past auctions to see what the current trend for any item you're interested in truly is.
  8. Dang, I showed up to this revived thread hoping Casey had info of a rerelease of the Sedan. Dang it. I'm not writing off Blitz' management of the Revell USA brand just yet. But watching Revell AG release all new kits (Jaguar, and others) and not seeing anything that wasn't already under development under Hobbico from Revell USA. But I'm not giving up hope yet. it's a new year with new potential.
  9. Like I said, any sub-line of Testors is going away. That means Model Master, Aztec, Extreme Lacquers etc. When they announced that last year they said some products would be folded into the main Testors line. What gets retained has yet to be seen.
  10. Over on the Spotlight board this same rumor cam up last week. So, Dave Darby actually went to the source, Testors, and got a response. The Testors line is NOT GOING AWAY!!! They are in the process of dropping all the sub-lines like they announced last year. But the rumor that the entire Testors line is going away appears to be perpetuated by modelers and even hobby shops and distributors playing a bad game of "telephone". Not saying anyone is doing it purposely, but the misinformation is rampant.
  11. That paint color is stunning. Nice conversion work performed on a kit that far too many people write off. It's not a perfect kit, but it's a good starting point for a sweet custom build, and you just proved that fact.
  12. That is very cool. Some details that were not commonly added during that era with the fuel lines and such. I wonder what this was painted with, because man it's thick. Nearly obliterated every body line. But it's a race car, so it works.
  13. It didn't seem like it was around for very long, so maybe it was a true "special edition" like the box says. Come to think of it, most of the "special edition" kits that I can recall really weren't in the catalog very long. 37 Ford pickup with the pseudo-38 parts, the 32 sedan. Can't think of any others right now Anyway, I know that doesn't help you find a set. Maybe post a wanted request here and ask if someone would part with just the heads?
  14. That was my thought too, since they might not have that insert anymore. Offering it for sale on it's own seems doubtful, especially if it's missing content.
  15. Replicas and Miniatures Of Md does an extremely nicely done 4 weber intake for that engine (don't mind my oversize fuel lines) I'll be following along on this one and living vicariously through your build. I have also wanted to build an all wheel drive deuce myself, but don't know if I'll ever get to it.
  16. Wow, it's like someone stripped the paint and forgot to treat the bare metal before it rusted. Very cool effect.
  17. You nailed it with this one RRR. The black paint has just the right sheen and patina details. And the running gear is all spindly, but purposeful. Wowza!
  18. Guess I better finish up my half cab conversion build that I started years ago using the Olsen Bros parts. Very excited to have the set though. wondered if they would ever bring the buggy back.
  19. I have the Snow Skeeter. Any idea of a source for replacement 1 piece tires for the rear paddle snow/sand type tires? The 2 piece ones in the kit don't appear to match up well as far as tread pattern side to side, and would really distract from an otherwise well rendered kit.
  20. Well, today is your lucky day for the hardtop. Just announced!
  21. Casey is a very reliale source for new kit announcements, so it appears to be true. Plus it has an official Round2 kit number, so I'd call it legit
  22. Looks like there are 4 "storefront" kits. Bookstore, coffee shop, music studio and cafe. Wish they had more of a vintage feel as a quick scan reveals they are modern styled. But could still provide a cool backdrop for model displays. I'll check them out in person the next time I'm at HL.
  23. Very nice job building this contemporary hot rod. When I build a fenderless 32 i never consider this kit because of the Revell kit with it's separate fenders. But, before that kit came out this was the best way to get a highly accurate highboy roadster since the body on the AMT kit is less accurate. Your execution of the fender removal is well done, and that paint combo is very well chosen (and smooth)
  24. Visited my local HL last night. They finally stocked the 78 Dodge for the first time, but of course it was after I bought it elsewhere. But the interesting thing to me was the expanded offerings from Mr Hobby. I had seen the primer there before, but now there are several other Mr items available including filler, clear spray, glue, and i think a couple tools. Side by side with Tamiya stuff (which also expanded over the last year or so) I wonder if they plan to continue to offer them side by side, or if they are phasing in the Mr Hobby products due to recent availability issues with Tamiya? I also wonder if they are going to expand into offering either companies paint lines? With the majority of the Testors paints being discontinued, I thought it would be perfect time for the Revell paints to take hold, but that doesn't seem to have happened.
  25. Seeing that mockup got my wheels turning that this would make a cool speedboat as well. I'll be following yours as this idea intrigues me too.
