Tri-Five Chevrolet (no 56 Convertible)????
Mr. Metallic replied to ranma's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
No 55 Nomad either, although the old AMT kit builds up well, perhaps that is why Revell hasn't done one. On the other hand, like you say, the available 57 Nomads are not very good, so why we haven't gotten a new one from Revell yet is surprising. -
Love seeing the straight 6. Cool builds
-
Thanks. This build is too cool not to see it as it all comes together
-
Don't be afraid to share. If someone doesn't like this build they can just keep scrolling on by. How could you not appreciate the creativity and clean fabrication on this build though?

Digging your latest update. Grille and headlights look great Anyone else having issues seeing the older pictures in this thread?

Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
Mr. Metallic replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The problem is, in the world we live in now where news travels around the world literally in seconds, one persons hypothesis or speculation here quickly turns into "facts" elsewhere. It's like the worst game of "telephone" ever. -
New Revell '32 Ford 5-window coupe
Mr. Metallic replied to Bernard Kron's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I recall the 5 window being issued the first time in 2009, and not since then. Did they use the exact same boxart on subsequent reissues, or did it ever actually leave their catalog? -
New Photobucket style disaster?
Mr. Metallic replied to Lovefordgalaxie's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah, but for what I would be willing to bet is an overwhelming majority here, this is not the only forum we participate in. And most other sites don't have their own storage. So, an online photo host is a must-have to share on most other forums. -
That thing is just wicked. very cool build.

Sam, any update on this? Still being patient, just hopeful it's getting closer -

More unnecessary speculation related to the "demise" of Revell USA.

The Golden Foose - DONE!
Mr. Metallic replied to Impalow's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I knew it had more detail to it than just a piece of tube. This thing is so freaking cool. Well done, as always -
Very cool build. Thanks for sharing

You always do such a nice job on the details with your projects. Tell us about the piece used to mount the side pipe to the bedside. Please -
25 Oldsmobile Roadster - finished ( or nearly!)
Mr. Metallic replied to alan barton's topic in Model Cars
Looks great with the fenders and turtle deck. Nice color too. The improvements you mentioned to the wheels will only improve an already good looking ride. -
T Fruitwagon 1925 AMT stalled project
Mr. Metallic replied to oneescalante's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I actually dig the fenders, IF you bring them closer together. tuck the running boards under the body and bring those rear fenders to rest against the sides of the turtle deck should do the trick. -
Positives to come from the Revell Deal?
Mr. Metallic replied to GMP440's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Revell and RoG were both owned by Hobbico for the last few years. Hence, RoG was also obviously constrained by Hobbico's capital issues, which may explain not being able to retain the Ferrari rights. -
Very nice buildup. If you hadn't pointed out the "flaws", most of us would not have noticed.
-
That color really suits this car. Nice build

Positives to come from the Revell Deal?
Mr. Metallic replied to GMP440's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
first, let me say I'm sorry for the Revell employees that did lose their jobs. Now, here's a couple thoughts on statements made here. I'm not going to speculate at all about what could happen because that's not helpful to anyone at this early juncture. I'll simplytry to clear up some of the muddy thoughts that have been presented here so far. disclaimer- I am no expert. 1) Yes, RoG kits that are imported into the US are more expensive. However, when you look at RoG tooled kits that are reboxed and sold in the US they are comparably priced to other items in the Revell line. 2) Many of the new tools produced by RoG in the last 5-10 years have been lauded as Tamiya-like in quality, fit and accuracy. Imagine if they brought those standards to new subjects of US vehicles. -
Hobbico - BANKRUPT!
Mr. Metallic replied to niteowl7710's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Excellent idea. Speculation is useless at this point. They've owned the company for less than a week. How about we, as a collective hobby, give them a chance to set up shop and show us what they're going to do. -
The Golden Foose - DONE!
Mr. Metallic replied to Impalow's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This thing is very kool. Nice paintwork, and the grille/headlight combo is spot on. Excellent work on the piping as well.
