  1. Here is the conversion set. here's a link to my album showing stuff I have purchased from them. There are sample catalogs in there too for contact info. One of the top 3 best resin casters out there. https://public.fotki.com/crstan/replican-and-miniat/
  2. Ed ships international too. here's a look at the firewall. You can probably find some other cool stuff in his offerings to make the shipping cost worth it here's a link to his online album of products https://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/member_dealer_directory/drag-city-casting-/
  3. nevermind. I wrote something else but don't want to be reported for being "mean" to the OP of this thread. As always, both entertaining and maddening at the same time
  4. Thanks Steve. This looks and sounds like a fun kit. But I know I'll never build 2, so I wanted to make sure there wasn't a "better" one to get out of the two. Although, the B/FX kit might be worth waiting for if I truly only build one of these
  5. Pardon my ignorance, but other than decals, what is the difference between this kit and the recent Beswick kit? My LHS still has a couple of the Beswick kits left, so wondering if I should grab it, or just wait for this new one since I don't plan on building it in either box stock livery.
  6. Nice kitbashing work. I bought one of these kits to help me restore an older gluebomb Jeepster, so you've given me some ideas for what to do with the leftover parts.
  7. You continue to show what the future holds for our hobby, between the 3D printing and die-cut styrene techniques. Yes, it's available now, but you show us the potential if we put our minds to it Really glad to see you back on this one
  8. I've always wanted to build this, inspired by that same green 1:1 build since i saw it at a Goodguys show in NY almost 20 years ago. Nice job on the conversion
  9. Nice details like the grille and wheelcovers. Well done
  10. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's still the R+R kit, purchased from Star Models. You did a nice job of bringing that rarely built resin kit to the finish line. Looks great
  11. Nice patina paintjob. Cool build of a unique subject
  12. Just found some time to photograph the few new items I've gotten from Drag City Castings recently. I was particularly happy he made this T-Bird roof available since it fits the AMT body so much better then the one provided in the kit. That's because it's from the Jr. Craftsman kit, so it's a different tool than their more widely known full detail series 57. Also shown is the modern tool AMT 56 T-Bird roof, because it also fits that body really well. Since the windshield header is different in that kit you will have to do a little work there to adapt it, but I'm sharing it just for comparison sake. left- 56, middle- Drag City Castings 57, right- AMT 57 (note the curvature of the bottom of the parts, this is the key to the better fit) Mounted to the 57 body And just for fun, mounted on the AMT 56 body SBC headers 32 Ford stock style firewalls for Revell 32 series
  13. Good looking buildup. I love how on this one and your Little T based builds that you make the slicks into cheaters.
  14. Don't say that too loud, or you'll start a fight with Tim Boyd, right Tim?
  15. Pretty sure because this thread is pie-in-the sky, positive, daydreaming type speculation, rather than the doom-and-gloom, sky is falling, negative speculation that surrounded the Hobbico bankruptcy thread. Looks like the upbeat tone of this thread has helped it stay afloat.
  16. Thanks for taking the time to explain it, it makes sense now that you say it. I build a lot of old Ford hot rods, especially 32's, and I hate chopping the tops because of that extra reveal in each window opening, trying to get those looking good. But your cuts on that sedan look really good. I'll be excited to see how they look when finished out
  17. Your fan solution works well based on the theme of the build you've got going on. It's like a guy just wanted to keep his old car running, so through a little ingenuity, threw whatever he could into it. Looking forward to seeing this one On the Shelf
  18. Nice work on the various chops. You have a great eye for proportion Just a question, what is going on at the back end of the body here?
  19. I mis-read what you originally wrote, i thought you wanted the graphics. Well, not sure if the rest of the decals originated from that set or not. But, if you do happen to have that decal set and don't want the line graphic/flames i could take them off your hands
  20. If you dig the original paint scheme those decals were brought back in the latest reissue of the Sock-it-To-Me 62 Vette
  21. Even though Johnny started out saying this was a 1/24 or 1/25 model, in the same post there it also this... So i'm pretty sure suggesting 1/25 parts sources isn't going to help. Nice weathering work, btw. The paint on the body has a nice weather worn look.
  22. Rollers vs Sliders depended on the construction method and internal structure of the boat. My dad's wooden 1950 Chris Craft had to be on a trailer with sliders because rollers would apply too much direct pressure to the wood. I think rollers are generally used on more modern boats made of aluminum or fiberglass, but of course there are always exceptions
  23. Thank you Eric for doing the right thing and trying to warn us about your experience. I didn't want that to get lost.
