  1. Nice details like the grille and wheelcovers. Well done
  2. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's still the R+R kit, purchased from Star Models. You did a nice job of bringing that rarely built resin kit to the finish line. Looks great
  3. Nice patina paintjob. Cool build of a unique subject
  4. Just found some time to photograph the few new items I've gotten from Drag City Castings recently. I was particularly happy he made this T-Bird roof available since it fits the AMT body so much better then the one provided in the kit. That's because it's from the Jr. Craftsman kit, so it's a different tool than their more widely known full detail series 57. Also shown is the modern tool AMT 56 T-Bird roof, because it also fits that body really well. Since the windshield header is different in that kit you will have to do a little work there to adapt it, but I'm sharing it just for comparison sake. left- 56, middle- Drag City Castings 57, right- AMT 57 (note the curvature of the bottom of the parts, this is the key to the better fit) Mounted to the 57 body And just for fun, mounted on the AMT 56 body SBC headers 32 Ford stock style firewalls for Revell 32 series
  5. Good looking buildup. I love how on this one and your Little T based builds that you make the slicks into cheaters.
  6. Don't say that too loud, or you'll start a fight with Tim Boyd, right Tim?
  7. Pretty sure because this thread is pie-in-the sky, positive, daydreaming type speculation, rather than the doom-and-gloom, sky is falling, negative speculation that surrounded the Hobbico bankruptcy thread. Looks like the upbeat tone of this thread has helped it stay afloat.
  8. Thanks for taking the time to explain it, it makes sense now that you say it. I build a lot of old Ford hot rods, especially 32's, and I hate chopping the tops because of that extra reveal in each window opening, trying to get those looking good. But your cuts on that sedan look really good. I'll be excited to see how they look when finished out
  9. Your fan solution works well based on the theme of the build you've got going on. It's like a guy just wanted to keep his old car running, so through a little ingenuity, threw whatever he could into it. Looking forward to seeing this one On the Shelf
  10. Nice work on the various chops. You have a great eye for proportion Just a question, what is going on at the back end of the body here?
  11. I mis-read what you originally wrote, i thought you wanted the graphics. Well, not sure if the rest of the decals originated from that set or not. But, if you do happen to have that decal set and don't want the line graphic/flames i could take them off your hands
  12. If you dig the original paint scheme those decals were brought back in the latest reissue of the Sock-it-To-Me 62 Vette
  13. Even though Johnny started out saying this was a 1/24 or 1/25 model, in the same post there it also this... So i'm pretty sure suggesting 1/25 parts sources isn't going to help. Nice weathering work, btw. The paint on the body has a nice weather worn look.
  14. Rollers vs Sliders depended on the construction method and internal structure of the boat. My dad's wooden 1950 Chris Craft had to be on a trailer with sliders because rollers would apply too much direct pressure to the wood. I think rollers are generally used on more modern boats made of aluminum or fiberglass, but of course there are always exceptions
  15. Thank you Eric for doing the right thing and trying to warn us about your experience. I didn't want that to get lost.
  16. Cool conversion. I much prefer the styling of the 60 over the 59, especially the front end. Coincidentally, my friend Randy Meyer started the same conversion over the weekend. The orange parts are from the Monogram Bad Actor 60 delivery, the white is the Revell 60 Impala, and the grey is the AMT 59 roof. Using the Bad Actor fin tops and rear wrap-around gave him the correct tailgate and taillight opening. He also ran into the same issue with the 59 bed being too short, which apparently is mostly due to the Revell 60 being slightly longer behind the rear wheel opening.
  17. I have used ChromeTech in the past, but switched to Little Motor Kar for my last couple orders. They do really nice work, and the turnaround is reasonable.
  18. I definitely dig this one, so I'll be following. How do you plan to handle the windshield?
  19. Your build is looking nice. I love the Testors and Tamiya lacquers(including the OneCoats). They're so easy to work with. i just wish Testors would introduce some new colors I also have built one of these. Please forgive the rat roddy overtones. it was the style at the time
  20. Or you could look up Drag City Castings. He has several gasser-appropriate seat options available. Here's a set I got recently. They are based on the seats from the 60's tool Revell SWC, but with a new, wider pleat pattern.
  21. Taillights came from my parts box, so if you think they're Corvair, you could be right. The entire engine/trans is from the Trumpeter Nova kits. This build is quite a few years old, so details are a little fuzzy(along with the pictures )
  22. My kustom based on the Revell kit
  23. Is this issue present on the Aerosedan and Sedan Delivery, or just the new coupe body which was first released a few years ago?
