  1. That came out really nice. Hopefully when it's done you can get some outside shots in the sun because I love the paint color as seen in your build thread. I've has a similar "stock suspension" 37 coupe on my brain for awhile using an old Tims Resin Rods chopped body. Now, thanks to your build thread, I have ideas on how to achieve that traditional suspension setup. Clean build, well done!
  2. I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned this, and the tooling already exists as separate parts from the original kit they came in... The big and little wide whites from the new tool AlaKart!!! I know saying new tool AlaKart around the hobby is likely to get you kicked in the shins, but the tires in that kit are excellent. And the tooling for those parts is separate from the rest of the tool. How do I know? Well, obviously the tires themselves are because they're vinyl, but the whitewall inserts are separate because they came in white plastic while the rest of the tool was grey. So please, Round2, dig these out! Easy money!
  3. I have a builtup of the Firebird, missing one of the rear glass "wing". Anyone have one? Was thinking about bashing the body together with a 70 1/2 Camaro
  4. Putting the Matranga front end on the 40 convertible body seems to have worked out pretty well. Please keep going!
  5. Wow, that paint is gorgeous. Love the reflection of the wheel on the door panel. I think Revell did the roof separate due to molding issues. Monogram had to do the same thing on their 30 coupe 50+ years ago. Someone more knowledgeable will be able to confirm.
  6. All that new stuff looks great, but those nuts and bolts are almost a must have. Have to start saving my pennies.
  7. Pretty sure the seats are from the AMT 56 Ford. This is awesome. Can't wait to see more. your builds are always so much fun to watch
  8. I think we're well beyond that thought process from Round2 with regards to their Parts Pack program. It's been going strong for several years now, so I don't believe one "mistake"(which I don't think this one is anyway) will cause them to fold the project. If it wasn't doing well they wouldn't keep making new additions, and even spending some new tooling dollars on them. Now, if they would just issue the new tool Ala-Kart big and little tires as a parts pack my dreams would be fulfilled.
  9. This was one of the heavily optioned early Monogram kits, akin to the 36 Ford and 30 Model A kits. Lots of building options packed in a flat box. I scored one of these at a toy show a few years ago, but traded it last year. I will probably continue to regret it because I always intended to build it, it's such a cool kit
  10. Yeah, and the roof opening has been fixed to stock appearance. They also offer a more heavily chopped version than the kit piece
  11. That sedan is looking really good
  12. Hey, look what wheels showed up on the 2018 AMBR winner
  13. I started this kit as a quick build challenge last year, but ran into paint issues on the body due to mold release(my fault, didn't wash the body) so I stripped the paint and threw it back in the box. Coincidently enough the same color. I'll be following along on yours for assembly tips, you've helped already with the tip on installing the floor supports into the body before paint. I agree, the instructions are vague on many assemblies.
  14. When the guys from K+R share anything you have my attention, but especially with a 32 Ford. You're off to a great start.
  15. I wasn't sure if it was going to all work out when I saw the beginning pics, but it turned out really nice. Your bodywork skills are top notch
  16. Yeah, cool stuff to be sure. Even what's just on the desk, not to mention the shelves. A reissue of the 28 Woody/pickup with faux-retro boxart would be cool(maybe with the Hot Curl included???). The mail truck would be cool, even just for parts, and the Orange Blossom is one a lot of people have been asking for. Some people complain about Round2's focus on reissues, but I love them, and I'm glad they keep digging further into the vault.
  17. Wow, I learned something new today. Thanks Casey
  18. Cool pics, certainly drool-worthy. But what's up with the Revell kits on the desk? Are these pics really from the Round2 stash?
  19. Pardon my ignorance, but what are the differences between a 25 Phaeton body and the available 27(AMT police car kit the most recent available I beleive)
  20. Interesting concept. Looks good
  21. I've been wanting to do the Ivo T for awhile now, but what really got me jonesing for it was the article in Hot Rod Deluxe a few years ago on the restored car. Take the Little T, add the Nailhead from your favorite source(I'm planning on the Revell 29 roadster kit with a different trans), throw in the other necessary parts and it should be pretty straight forward. Personally the pinstriping will be the tricky part, I'm hoping I can use the decals from the Tweedy Pie.
  22. Yeah, like that's going to happen. The people in power structure it so they give themselves the bonuses. It's like asking the members of Congress to write term limit legislation. They have no interest in it because it limits their own power.
  23. While many of the original kitted version parts of the Tweedy Pie were returned or retooled for the most recent version, not all the parts are there. The R+M conversion kit would still be quite handy, especially for the wheels and tires. I've owned this set twice and sold it off. Wish I still had it.
  24. If the woody body is indeed the Jimmy Flintstone 32-34 Woody, I believe it's pretty accurate. The cowl is based off the AMT 32-34 pickup cab, which is generally regarded as pretty accurate. While it may look different from the R/M 32 Ford passenger car series, I believe it's still relatively accurate compared to pictures of the 1:1
  25. According to Dave Darby over in a similar thread in the Kit Reviews section, the pickup bed was always an option in this kit, it did not replace the fuel tank. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/57648-tweedy-pie-parts/?page=2
