Actually it does snow in Hawaii, up on Mauna Kea volcano. This year 49 states got snow. None in Florida.

Mother, Jugs and Speed

Barris had nothing to do with it. It's a Stoner Ambulance that was modified at the 20th Century studio shops. -
Dodge tracked vehicle
lordairgtar replied to lordairgtar's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Interesting. No Dodge emblem but a FLEXTRACK-NODWELL badge and a F-N 670 call out on the door. -
Wouldn't this make an awesome work vehicle or post apocolyptic machine?

Lovely singer AND a Latina! You wouldn't know that with her German last name. -

I've owned two of the Panels. Never had any trouble with either. -
2013 Dodge Dart !
lordairgtar replied to moparmagiclives's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had one of those crappy cars from the 80s and my mom had the Plymouth Duster version. They were actually very nicely done cars. I'd like to find another, but all have seemed to succumbed to the rust monster. The floor boards basically got soft and you could put your foot through the floor. As far as mechanics, they ran forever. -

Too bad Chevy killed the HHR, better than Cube or Soul -
Boring builds...
lordairgtar replied to '08SEAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Of course you could make an interesting historical diorama out of it. Build it but put Russian Tu - 4 markings on it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupolev_Tu-4 -
74 Buick Lesabre?
lordairgtar replied to bandit1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A whole lotta scratch building. What particular Buick do you want to make? -
Heller tooling is correct. If one uses care, they build up into nice models. Others in the series are the Alpine/Gordini set, and the Brabham Cosworth F III / Matra Cosworth F II. All Heller kits reboxed by AMT. I have the Porsche minus the Ferrari and the Alpine minus the Gordini and both open wheel cars in the Brabham/Matra set.

I know one was offered. I believe Revell did it. not sure of the scale. I know the Tamiya is 1/6 scale. I searched eBay for the Trail 70 and none exist there. I would study pics of actual Trail 70s and scratch build the different parts or modify existing ones. Decals might require you to create art and print on decal paper.

With the talk of scale wieght...
lordairgtar replied to JustBill's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My opinion of time is scale does not matter, it's constant. However, the model railroad guys who run their layouts like real trains have special clocks that are sped up. So, therefore they are scaling time. -

Okaaaaaay. Don't go putting yer eye out with that pointy stick -
Corvair Jim, you are correct in your facts. Especially the Ford Mustang scenario. I am also sure the Camaro which debuted in 67 also had a lot to do with GMs decision to put the Corvair to rest. About Eddie Kovacs, the car was secondary to the cause of the crash. Speed, wet pavement (it had rained), alcohol and some say he was also trying to light his cigar while negotiating the turn. Nader's problem with GM initially was because they (GM) tried to dirty his image. I put Nader in the same class as Micheal Moore, and those of his ilk.

I just love a good flea market.

I look all over for those, but they are hard to find. I suppose when I amass all the kits in that series, Revell will see fit to release them. -
Anyone here play guitar?
lordairgtar replied to SuperStockAndy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I do not know how to play guitar, but I have a couple of low end guitars I have collected. When I used to do karaoke in the 80s and 90s, I went by my user name (that's where that came from) and did insane air guitar moves. People started bringing me cheapo guitars and other instruments. I have a Hy-Lo Fender copy that actually sounds nice and an Aria Pro XX in black (Vee shaped body). I also had a fiddle. I had one other guitar that got a cracked neck when some drunk at the bar grabbed it and tried to do the "smash the guitar at the end of the song" routine. I almost went to jail that night. -
potential paint source; Home Depot alert
lordairgtar replied to 62rebel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thinned out, the latex is perfect for doing whitewalls on tires. One of the few paints that will actually dry on rubber or vinyl.
