  1. They are very well done, especially the detail on the tires! It sucks though that they are one of the only modern aftermarket 8-lug wheels currently available (that I've found)! Hopefully Joseph makes some other styles eventually if these sell well enough.
  2. Thanks! I forgot to post my more recent updates in here! Here's the body currently: Chassis: Bed: Hood/grille and bumper: Wheels and tires:
  3. Just go to the website of the store of your choice and find it. The Walmart site shows you whether its in stock and you can search by location.
  4. Just go to the area with the cleaning supplies, it is just vinyl and tile floor finisher, here's what it looks like: I guess I'm not surprised that people don't know where it is, most probably wouldn't have used it at all since it seems to have gone by the wayside to keep your floors coated.

  6. I haven't had a chance to do much in the way of updating lately, been flipping between 3 different builds! I'll try to remember to post some pics tonight, but I did get the cab pretty much completed, with it currently sitting in primer. The bed required some square tube placed between the fenders and the inner box to straighten out the sides, and I will have to add the ribbing to the bottom as well. I also received a set of of wheels and tires from Joseph at Fireball Modelworks which will give it some height and some attitude! I tried to stay more stock in regards to the transmission, but I couldn't find any kits that have a manual that resembles an NV4500. I figure, since I don't plan on keeping this totally stock, I will simply use the kit transmission (TR-6060 which is similar to the T56) and say that it was swapped in for the 6th gear and better ratios (I have come across conversion kits to attach a transfer case, so it is a plausible swap).
  7. Could you post up a pic? I'm interested to see how they look!
  8. I am intrigued by the 1/12 500F, though it all depends on the price. Since the truck kits seem to go for 30 bucks and up around here, I'm thinking probably high double digits.
  9. I suppose I can finally post something here! As you can see in the first post, I'll be building a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500. It will have the 8.0L V10, 5-speed manual, 4x4, and will be the extended cab-long bed configuration with the Sport trim package. The kits I'm using are the Revell Ram VTS, AMT Ram 2500, and yes, the Meng F350! The F350 will be providing the chassis and drivetrain (minus the engine/trans), the AMT kit will provide the cab extension, long box, tailights, and rear bumper, and the Revell kit will provide most of the rest of the parts. Here's the combined cab and the long bed, I still have to do some final work on the cab. Finally, here's the chassis in its current state. I had to remove 3/4" from the frame, as well as rearrange a few pieces to get it in a similar configuration to the Dodge chassis.

  11. The one thing I've always wondered is what is it with the redesigned AMT boxes in the early 2000s? To me at least, they made the kits look really bad compared to earlier boxart. An example: Dodge Ram snap kit Old box: Newer box:
  12. A bit of work done to mine so far, the engine is out of the Revell '99 Silverado and is mostly built. I had to cut out a bit of the inner fenderwells to fit the exhaust. I also got the chassis mostly together. Front suspension is stock, rear consists of stock shocks with leaf springs from Revell '99 Silverado, and axle from an Aoshima kit meant to resemble a Ford 9".
  13. I would guess that around 25% of the time, it's someone using it incorrectly to try and get a payout settlement from the company.
  14. If I recall correctly, a shooting brake is a 2-door wagon, and an estate is a 4-door wagon (though there may be something about the overall shape in there as well!) As for the topic, Wheeler Dealers is a great source of info on the different terms that they use in the UK. One that I haven't seen yet is "back box" which refers to the rear most muffler (usually aft of the rear wheels).
  15. I think the biggest reason for the lack of NASCAR popularity is, unless you use the parts for another build, there's not much you can do with a stock-car kit other than build it box stock. With the older models that were based on actual cars, you had modification potential, whereas with the cars all having the same body for the past 20 years or so, they're just no fun (for me at least).
  16. How about the label "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer", which while required due to their Prop 65, is ridiculous in that it seems to be posted on nearly everything, and thus everything must cause cancer!
  17. Hey, interesting to see someone from Ramsey on here! I used to live there in the same neighborhood as the Armstrong Kennels, though my parents still do live there.
  18. The 4x2 wheels were only 5x5 bolt pattern, whereas the 4WD had 6x5.5.
  19. I would think you could just sand down the center of the hubs to get it close enough to the naked eye.
  20. Nice progress o-man! I'm excited to see the Hummer as well, especially if you pull off the color shift paint! Don't forget the snake! ?
  21. I hope to get started on my build this weekend, I've been busy lately since I got back from New Years!
  22. They need to bring back many of the Amt-Ertl era kits, especially the trucks and suvs, and release them with new extra parts.
  23. That would work as long as it uses the same chassis as the pickup.
