No problems there! Basically its a group of people who are building kits "together" under a common theme. Most of the time there's a specified time frame to complete them, though some choose to have an unlimited time frame.

Since it seems like there's some interest, I shall layout this community build. The basics are any pickup truck or chassis-cab commercial vehicle 1-ton or smaller. Kits may be new, a rebuild, or a combo. Must however be less than 20% complete at the start. Try to post at least one update by the end of each month, though I won't kick you out if you don't. Build will run from January 1st to November 30th. I will post names and what each is building here. I know Lindberg made a 1/20 1st Gen Explorer that would be nice to see in 1/25 scale.

I do like that they are trying to do more one-piece wheels now, but this is certainly annoying. Aoshima, Fujimi, and Tamiya figured it out ages ago that a single wheel that slides in the back is the best, since it is see-through (no wheel backs), easy to put in tires that have a slightly smaller opening, and means you don't have to bother with finding wheel backs that fit when using extra wheels from kit on another.

Interiors for both are completed, and the undercarriage now shows what the body colors will look like.

I vote for the unlimited build, allows for a larger range of vehicle types and styles to be entered.

Tonight I completed the chassis for the Land Cruiser. When I get back from Thanksgiving vacation, I'll be able to start on the interiors!

I would go with Tamiya TS-23 Light Blue. From pictures, it appears to be very close to Grabber Blue.

If anyone watches Wheeler Dealers, the last episode was a first gen Bronco that they practically rebuilt.

Other than the shocks which are still drying, the chassis for the Hilux is finished.

I hope to get started tonight a bit. And yes, I figured there may be some other ideas when I posted the title! Oh, and I also changed my mind on the color of the Land Cruiser, I'm going to go with a medium blue metallic based on a real vehicle I found in my idea search. The Hilux will look pretty close to the box art (including the stripes), and the Land Cruiser will look something like this:

This dual build will feature an Aoshima Hilux Double Cab kit and a Tamiya Land Cruiser 80, and they will be built to represent 1992 models that were sold in Pakistan. Why Pakistan? Well, I found an auto sales site from there while doing picture research and liked what I saw. They seem to love customizing their vehicles, especially Toyotas. I will be building these kits fairly box stock, with only a few exterior parts from my spares. The Hilux will be a medium red metallic SSR-X model, and the Land Cruiser will be a beige/dark gray two-tone VX Limited model. Here's what I'm starting with:

That looks great! This kit isn't normally built as the Foose version, but it does look nice when done up like the box art!

I'll be keeping an eye on this build, since I'm excited to see what you do with it!

Yup, unfortunately they decided to make the stock tires as pizza cutters. They did at least give a nice set of aftermarket wider radials with the older kits.

Yup, there's been a couple threads about it in this forum already. I'm hoping to pick up one this winter since I've always wanted a full detail kit.

It's the fuel injected 460 V8.

Check the instructions at the step where the air cleaner is added, they show two configurations and specifically call out one as for a '71 and one for a '73.

Perhaps, but it would be more preferable to have it be a 4WD since you could use parts from the '64/'65 pickups to make it a 2WD, and vice versa.

Hopefully Revell either releases a version in the future with the wheel flares (and a template for cutting the rear fenders), or a resincaster creates some to sell. I would love to be able to build a stock version with intact rear fenders, and an off-road version with the full openings.

Was Custom a trim level on those Suburbans? I hope that they offer it with a 4WD setup!

Sweet! A bit bummed by the lack of poseable front wheels, but otherwise I do like the amount of detail in the kit. Two things I noticed: 1) At the end, they credit Jeff's Bronco Graveyard for their help on the project, not sure if they've done something like that in the past 2) The kit is meant to resemble either a 1971 or 1973 Bronco, based on the aircleaner part of the assembly.
