  1. I would suggest the AMT Bronco since it's the correct scale, and I think it is better than the Monogram front end since it is multiple pieces rather than just one piece. Also, that gen F-150 started in '92, not '91.
  2. Interesting build so far, love these kits! One question, what did you use to paint the silver on the interior parts?
  3. If you don't mind a higher price, Doyusha/Otaki did release a '73 Trans Am in 1/12 scale back in the 70s, and you can find them on ebay but they are going for a couple hundred bucks.
  4. I'm very interested in the 1/16 Firebird! How does it compare to the Revell kit?
  5. You were kinda the one who started this whole thing with your passive-aggressive comment. (Well, other than Keyser's dig at Harry.)
  6. Think of something like this as a painting. People can try to paint a picture, but it won't turn out anything near what someone with time and skill can do. This is why they pay big bucks for someone else to do it, especially if it's a one of a kind item like in the auction in the OP.
  7. I am now offering 1/12 scale American Racing TTD wheels through Shapeways. These wheels fit the Goodyear Eagle tires that come in the Revell 1/12 Camaro (not the Foose release), Corvette, and Bel Air. There is a little sanding required on the wheels, or shaving of the tire lip to get them to sit properly. I left the back flat so you can choose how to mount them to the kit. Here's a link to the listing. I mentioned it there, but you will need to order the 4 wheels individually, they are printed only one at a time. Pictures are of the white "polished" plastic (it has a bit of a rough finish still, so sanding will be necessary. The clear plastics will be smoother, but more expensive.)
  8. Finally have an update, got the wheels printed and put them in the wheels to check them out. SAM_0214 by mudder_trucker8, on Flickr SAM_0213 by mudder_trucker8, on Flickr SAM_0210 by mudder_trucker8, on Flickr
  9. Yes, this one does have an opening hood and an actual engine. However, the under hood detail is very sparse and limited.
  10. It looks like they could just be spreading out the categories for voting? Who knows, we'll see.
  11. Which is funny because nowadays, such a thing could be plausable. There are mowers now that have electronically activated clutch mechanisms that engage the mower deck.
  12. I thought it was a Hobbytown USA, but you may be correct (it was several years ago). The location is correct though (strip mall across the street).
  13. There were three hobby shops that I used to frequent when I was younger. There was one off University/47 in Fridley just south of Northtown Mall (can't remember the name) that I would always try to go to after my brother had a hockey game at the Colombia Arena. Then there were 2 HobbyTown USA locations that had great selections. One was also in Fridley near the Ax-Man Surplus store (great store by the way!), the other was in Brooklyn Park on Brooklyn Blvd just east of 81. The latter I believe moved further east down Brooklyn Blvd, however the kit selection has been greatly reduced. Nowadays, I stick to Hub Hobby or Scale Model Supplies for when I don't buy online.
  14. Its still one of my favorite shows to watch on Dvd.
  15. Or when they just happened to knock the rear window for the Barracuda off the stand onto the floor after talking about how hard to find it is. No matter, they found another!
  16. The reason the Charger doesn't have a manual is two-fold, the floor wasn't originally designed to fit the manual, and the take rate would theoretically be too low to bother with redesigns and government testing. Besides, at least it's a RWD high performance car again rather than the 4-cylinder FWD econo car it was back in the 80's (that's not to say I wouldn't love to have one of the Charger Shelbys!)
  17. I think this thread would be more fun if people posted what ideas they submitted! I chose the 2017 Ford F-650
  18. I still think the Foose partnership would be a good reason to rerelease the 1/12 C2 Corvette kit, they could base it on the one from Overhaulin (it was a '64, but close enough) or he could design something different.
  19. There's a picture floating around somewhere, but they changed the level structure. 5 is the new 3, and it goes down in more incremental steps than before.
  20. I do like this trailer and wish they would release it again!
  21. They are a mixed bag, they have some good details and opening doors but on the other hand they use metal axles for the rear and front wheels.
  22. Actually he is correct, they did offer one in 1982 that was not like the 1984 and later GNs.
  23. Yup, looking at it again I see what you mean. Simple fix!
  24. Here's a pic of what the wheels will look like! 2016-08-02_2119 by mudder_trucker8, on Flickr
  25. Considering the box art is the same as the last release (which I own), I'm going to go with no. (This is not a guarantee that they didn't, but I would rather assume not and be surprised if they did!)
