I would guess that around 25% of the time, it's someone using it incorrectly to try and get a payout settlement from the company.

Divided by a common tongue
Jordan White replied to DonW's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If I recall correctly, a shooting brake is a 2-door wagon, and an estate is a 4-door wagon (though there may be something about the overall shape in there as well!) As for the topic, Wheeler Dealers is a great source of info on the different terms that they use in the UK. One that I haven't seen yet is "back box" which refers to the rear most muffler (usually aft of the rear wheels). -
I think the biggest reason for the lack of NASCAR popularity is, unless you use the parts for another build, there's not much you can do with a stock-car kit other than build it box stock. With the older models that were based on actual cars, you had modification potential, whereas with the cars all having the same body for the past 20 years or so, they're just no fun (for me at least).

How about the label "This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer", which while required due to their Prop 65, is ridiculous in that it seems to be posted on nearly everything, and thus everything must cause cancer!

New member, though I thought I'd been here before...
Jordan White replied to Murco's topic in Welcome! Introduce Yourself
Hey, interesting to see someone from Ramsey on here! I used to live there in the same neighborhood as the Armstrong Kennels, though my parents still do live there. -
New Chevy/GMC Truck Rally Wheels
Jordan White replied to Chief Joseph's topic in Truck Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The 4x2 wheels were only 5x5 bolt pattern, whereas the 4WD had 6x5.5. -

I would think you could just sand down the center of the hubs to get it close enough to the naked eye. -
Nice progress o-man! I'm excited to see the Hummer as well, especially if you pull off the color shift paint! Don't forget the snake! ?

I hope to get started on my build this weekend, I've been busy lately since I got back from New Years!

Round 2 January 2017 Product Spotlight
Jordan White replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
They need to bring back many of the Amt-Ertl era kits, especially the trucks and suvs, and release them with new extra parts. -
That would work as long as it uses the same chassis as the pickup.
-
I'm definitely in this year! Edit: changed my mind, gonna do a Revell 1991 S10 with a V8 swap. The kit was already started, but I'm going to take it apart and start from scratch.

Let's think about the Cannonball run 2017 theme.
Jordan White replied to Tim H's topic in Community Builds
So has a theme been determined for the 2017 build? -
Makes sense, I just figured this would help people determine what year this mostly represents, and how it could be modified to be older or newer.

I received this kit for Christmas, and just sat down to compare it to year-by-year changes that I found. Here's my results: 1) Engine appears to represent the GM 6.5 non-turbo diesel (no parts appear to represent a turbo). This engine was available from 1994 until 1998, though the 10 blade fan indicates 1996-1998. 2) Transmission appears to mostly resemble the 4l80E based on slanted pan and round indent, though the cut-out does slightly resemble the TH400. 3) The body itself is fairly standard across the years, but the ambulance doors indicate 1995 and up, while the vents aft of the rear-side windows were on 1997 or newer models. 4) The wheels are meant to resemble the two-piece runflat wheels with central tire inflation, which were offered on 1995 and older models, newer models had one-piece steel wheels (and later aluminum). 5) The interior (or at least the dash) resembles the 1996 and up interior based on the gauges, HVAC controls, and cupholder area. Based on the above, it would seem that this is a 1997 or 1998 model, non-turbo diesel, wagon with older style two-piece wheels.

Yeah, I'm not sure what Revell/Monogram was thinking when they designed the trailer, it's just a flat diamondplate-style deck with some "rails" that support the boat. I scratchbuilt a trailer for my last one I built, and will build ones for the other two I have. This build does look awesome, even with the minor scale differences!

This will be the main thread to post in, but you may also post a build thread in the on-the-workbench section!
-
Any build style, from stock to wild!
-
I think I would consider them more a car with a pickup bed, and am thinking this build would be more pickups with full separate frames.

Haha I know that thread for 2 reasons, I found it while searching for similar threads, and I also was a part of it (though I stopped my build and used the kits in other ways). I do plan on starting a fresh build though, mainly for consistency. Edit: For those who have already replied, please post again with what you will be starting with so I can post them in the first post.

Yup! I figure anything 1 ton or smaller will fit.
