  1. You're going great Rich, it's a shame that a lot of your hard work and excellent detailing gets hidden. You've just got to display it with all the panels and wheels off!!! Dave B
  2. Hi Pierre, when Phil was using filament I'd coat the model in auto stop putty but now he's printing in resin for me I just use auto acrylic undercoat and sand, plenty of times!! The shame is in around 6 months the layers will just become visible. Dave B
  3. First things first I'm once again thanking my old mate Phil for resin printing my file for me and providing the decals. This is my take on C100 chassis #4 that entered the 1982 Le Mans as entry #6. It qualified well, 6th, but was a dnf, being let down by electrics. Along with the Ford F3L this may have been another lost opportunity for Ford to do well on the international scene. I've raided the parts box for various bits and pieces, intake trumpets, photo etched seat belt, windscreen wiper, etc. I've also used styrene tube and sheet. The model is finished in acrylic white, clear coated and polished. Now to continue on the Alfa 33 Stradale!! Tks for looking. Dave B
  4. You build great 1/43 kits and there is so much choice available. I did build them but I aged!! Just too fiddly. Dave B
  5. Great builds Alex, love the different liveries. Dave B
  6. And I thought I had patented that sanding drum!!!! Looking really good Pierre, it's going to be the model you first envisaged. Love it. Dave B
  7. Great work Rich, it all looks rather time consuming!! Dave B
  8. This one's going to be good. Looking forward to more updates. Dave B
  9. That's a great build, all the more so for the time you must have spent doing extremely accurate weathering. I couldn't do it, I'll stay the easy route and do shiny!! Dave B
  10. Matt, another great build using a basic kit. The Vanwall and Mercedes are the only 2 Merit GP cars I don't have. They're great starting points. I assume the actual car had a yellow nose cone as the one depicted on the mag cover appears orange? Dave B
  11. Trial fit of the injection system, still need to make the injectors so it at least resembles the Spica injection. Dave B
  12. Tks for the encouragement guys. Helmut, love the blue one!! Dave B
  13. Pierre, you don't build 2nd best, you made the only choice. Dave B
  14. Good luck Rich, I know you'll do it justice. As aside I've been modelling from around the same time, first kit was the Merit Lancia Ferrari. Dave B
  15. That's not a problem, just back to square one. Come on Pierre, like me you love it!!! Dave B
  16. Tks Andrew and everyone else. Rich, I have the Otaki kit but I must have built it like 40+ years ago and it shows!! Dave B PS I also have the Tipo 33 book but there is not a lot on the Stradale, heaps of the net.
  17. Finally got the glass vacformed, the windscreen took about 5 tries before I was happy with it. The C100 is now ready to clear coat so the end is in sight. Dave B
  18. That's a huge improvement Helmut, can't wait to see it painted and decaled. Dave B
  19. Ok, I'm going to TRY and do a Pierre. Whoever drew the file hasn't got it quite right. The sides are too shallow and I think the injection is too far back towards the rear axle line so rightly or wrongly I've started my mods. Dave B
  20. Went up to my mate Phil's for a social visit yesterday and came away with this. I did buy the file for this and a DB4GT Zagato a couple of months back but haven't worried about it as I'm still working on the C100. Something else to play with!! Dave B
  21. Just received this packet of what I use as injection trumpets. Look much better than the printed item Dave B
  22. Hi Pierre, you've done a brilliant job with the glass house and you don't have to worry about the front and rear glass. Excellent!! Do you have vacform capability? Dave B
  23. Yes Rich, that's the one I'd want to build. Dave B
  24. Getting there. First coat of white acrylic just to identify the faults. Dave B
  25. Beautiful Claude, you build exceptional salt flats models, just love checking out the details. Dave B
