I've been looking for on of those for some time ... nice find! It's a 1970's Grumman Curbmaster step van kit and was sold at one time by Uptown Automotive ... 2 photos of it on that page. They don't respond at all, maybe out of business. I don't know who the original caster was. I was looking for one because my son-in-law bought one to start a food truck business. I did find the one he got isn't a Grumman so I'll be scratch building it anyway.

Nice job on the doors. That 6 belongs there on this workhorse truck ... no mater what work it's destined for.

I've used the black BMF before and had no troubles with it, though I know some say it doesn't work. It has been on a Subaru I did almost 20 years ago and not lifted or changed since putting it on. I did all the black trim .. the window trim and the band around the middle of the body. For the blacked out areas on window glass I do use a black Sharpie.

I don't know of any too much larger than Acme's 200x99 pixel size but 2 others are slightly larger. R.T.'s Blank Plates are 250x125. You will have to use a graphics program, or even word, to enter the number as these are blank. License Plates TV is for ordering custom actual size plates but you can go and make your plate to order and copy it. It is a 350x175 graphic.

I just barely squeezed into that 15 to 79 ... or did I ... can't remember ...

That "paint" job really sets this off! .. though I do love the rear end custom add ...

It's been a couple months but a lot was going on here. I have been fine tuning things, as can be seen in the paint . ehhe. Got the wheels painted and mocked up in this one. Those tires sure fit tight ... the tops may just get sanded where you can't see in the end.

Yes, but I'm not an expert on picking compatible paint (don't ask). I do try to stick with same type as you say but I have heard of brand compatibility issues too. Just trying to stick up a caution flag. And, I never had problems with newspaper but Art makes complete sense ... I'll be into the piles of printer paper from now on!

Do start with the white. Tape off the parting line with good tape, I use Tamiya or Frog Tape Delicate Surface. Use cheap masking tape and newspaper to cover the rest of the body and paint the second color. Do let the first color dry a few days before the 2nd color tape and paint. Be sure the two colors are compatible .. you can test on a plastic spoon if you're unsure.

That sounds pretty cool, Dale. Don't kick yourself for their interests ... we're all different, even those that came from us. You got me all worked up to see what they do .. you ARE going to document this for us, aren't you?? Their reasons for their choice of car sounds just like what mine are at times. I tried getting my kids interested in building but all it did was get ME back to building.

They sure stack the snow high in the Great White North! Those are both drop dead cool and beautiful!
